Anything not dne in faith is a sin. Anything done in excess is a transgression, if you over-eat. There are some food stuff that cause many ailments, but no one as gone as far as to call them sin. It is the usage of a thing that makes it a sin Weed can be medicinal or detrimental,so also a gun or fire for that matter. |
If you go to India you would see the number of personal bikes being ridden around (even by women). Although it get you to beat traffic, it however increase air pollution, noise pollution and accidents (although it is not rampant in India because they obey traffic laws) |
I am of the opinion that this COULD (note i said could) stem from the fact that most parents force their kids into a course of study of (the parent's) choosing, not taking into consideration the child's predisposition to learning. |
Nice One Poster, I am in the same predicament, i would actively follow you on NL to see how your journey proceeds. Investigate SharePoint (just a thought) One idea, thats all you need, just one, you can not reinvent the wheel, but you can surely design better, safer and more durable tyres. Not to knock your idea for a subject matter based social network, have you done (an informal) statistics of the volume of people interested in this subject matter, who are active online? Have you thought of another way to make money online other than advert traffic? Another thought, instead of simply Enterprise Application, look into "SERVICES" developing applications that offer services such that you sell the service (and get a recurring income as against one of) to individuals and organisations. These are things i am currently looking at |
there is this saying ", The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both." What are you currently doing to make ends meet? If you are not enjoying, chances are that success would not come easy, and you might eventually have to sell your soul (principles, faith, health, family relationships, etc) to attain success. The mistakes started from following the crowd, being forced to pursue careers by parents, not knowing one's self sufficiently before choosing a career, etc. This makes me remember the story of the animal school "Once upon a time, the animals decided that they should do something meaningful to meet the problems of the new world, so they organised a school. They adopted an activity curriculum of running, climbing, swimming and flying. To make it easier to administer, all of the animals took all of the subjects. The duck was excellent at swimming. In fact, he was better than his instructor. However, he made only passing marks in flying and was very poor at running. Since he was so slow in running, he had to drop his swimming class and do extra running. This caused his webbed feet to become badly worn, meaning that he dropped to an average mark in swimming. Fortunately, “average” was acceptable, therefore nobody worried about it – except the duck. The rabbit started at the top of the class in running, but developed a nervous twitch in his leg muscles because he had so much makeup work to do in swimming. The squirrel was excellent in climbing, but he encountered constant frustration in flying class because his teacher insisted that he start from the ground up instead of from the treetop down. He developed cramps from overexertion, so he ended up with a C in climbing and a D in running. The eagle was a real problem student and was severely disciplined for being a non-conformist. In climbing class, he beat all of the others to the top, but insisted on using his own way of getting there!" so what are you doing to follow the masses, get out of the rat race and take the path least trodden and like in the poem, it would make all the difference. |

Monopoly. Have you ever heard of the term monopoly, this is not to say, that is entirely a bad thing, but when NITEL (first national carrier) and GLO (second national carrier) are placed in one individual hands, what now is the reason for calling it national carrier? Yes NITEL has become a liability, but for the sake of Nigerians, make NCC stronger otherwise, i can beg that within 2 years of operation, we would be paying the highest telecoms bill in the continent (check out Cement prices under the national carrier - Dangote) |
sing , i find that when i sing, no matter what , once i change my focus from my present circumstance and place them on the infinte God, my issues fade into insignificance. I have tried drinking , it doesn't help I have tried womanizing , error But singing praises lifts my spirit |
Change is the only constant thing in life, and i believe that it is never too late to become what you might have been, but it takes wisdom. Let me use myself as an example, i graduated with a 2:2 in electrical electronics over 10 yrs ago, and as such could not enter any oil company so i changed to ICT, well after hustling i finally got a job working in a bank's ICT, i have done that for 8-9 years consecutively. Anyone that works in a bank would tell you that unless you are a marketer, getting promoted is a steep task. Well sometimes last year i got tired. I resigned, took my gratuity and went into business for myself. However, luckily i am not married, but i still needed basic amenities, which is why i invested in local transportation so as to generate funds to keep body and soul together, while hustling for jobs that would bring me not only financial, but emotional satisfaction as well. I may have not made millions (yet), but i am pursuing my dreams, i have been able to travel twice to india on training and God willing soon you go dey SHOUT my name |
