MTN was just telling you guys what the implication and consequence of sabotaging their facilities would lead to, in response to the xenophobic attack. When Boko haram attacked communities in countries like cameroun and chad, did the camerounians and chadians protest or sabotage facilities of any Nigerian owned private firm in their countries?

Here you are, misinterpreting a 'warning' for a 'threat', when all it tries to make the protesters realise is that shutting down or sabotaging MTN will directly and indirectly affect their staff, who are Nigerians.

Let us stage our protest to the South African high commission, the right channel!

These civil right activists are not thinking straight. How does shutting down MTN's operation in Nigeria(benin) stop or curtail the xenophobic attack in South Africa? Those attacking foreigners in South Africa don't have stakes or shares in MTN, so why hold MTN to ransome for their actions? The fact that MTN is a South African company doesn't mean they are accountable for the mischief of semi-educated black South Africans who are fomenting xenophobia. Besides, MTN is owned by White South Africans.

So, I think the protest should have been staged at South African embassy in Nigeria, and not MTN office.
