LagosismyHome:Yes CAS will be issued, but with the suspension of priority visa, he dosen't know how his visa application will come out before the school resumes, even with the extended resumption date which will be max a week or 2 after the original resumption. are there any other ideas to help or should he withhold the payment and defer. the school is university of nottingham. |

duchess90: hi thanks for the response, if he asks for the late resumption max he will be given is 2 weeks visa takes 3 weeks, the account mature on the 15 hopefully thing will calm down by then, assuming earliest date he'll get is 21th, then embassy stay with the passport for 3 weeks till 9 october. by then the late resumption given on his CAS has passed. is it possible that the embassy might still grant the visa even after the resumption date on the CAS has passed. |

HI a friend of mine has an issue. he applied for and has gotten admission but he just started keeping the needed fund in his sponsors account today, the fund will mature on the 15th is September. the school resumes on the 21st, but with the way dates are unavailable, he might not be able to get an interview date close to the date the account matures. He was hoping to do priority visa, but it has been suspended for now, he wants to ask the school to let him resume late and put a later resumption date on his CAS. someone advised him to call the embassy and narrate his situation but there is no number to call online if you have any number please kindly send it my way. Please what do you advise he do next should he go ahead and pay the deposit with hope that priority visa will resume or should he defer his admission. Gurus in the house pls help!!! |

You've been out of secondary school since 2015 which is 4 years now. its going to be an issue. The VO will think if you can't get admission to a public uni and still did not get admission to private uni how will you be able to afford 47k dollars for schooling in america. The 4 years between 2015 and now is enough to complete an undergraduate degree. The VO will want to know why you've been out of school for so long if u can afford private why didn't you go and if u can't afford it how will you be able to afford america. adding all this up the vo begins to suspect foul play. My 2 cent advise it to do your undergraduate here in nigeria and if your still interested after that you can proceed for your msc in the united states. But if you still intend on trying for a visa i will advice you write the SAT. dimejalex: |

Please before re-applying think thoroughly Firstly, you are going for a degree in social affairs and educational justice( to be honest i have not heard about a degree like this but its ok) Also you are going to claremount graduate university( i also have not heard of dis school but there are about 4300 unis in America so this is ok as well). Total fees for the school is 47k in tuition and 21k living expense plus 2k in insurance which puts your total bill at around 70k per year!!! duration is two years so cost is around 140k!!! you where also not offered any assistantship. And also SOA of 34m naira =92k using 370 to 1 dollar(embassy rate). To be honest that school is too unknown to charge such high fees. if it was harvard or stanford its understandable but for a university that is not even an R1 on the carniege classification. i think you made it too easy for the VO to deny you. please do research before applying to schools trying and look for another school, to be on the safe side. But still i wish you the best. Felizz: 4 Likes |

An agent also did my filled ds 160 for my first visa interview and wrote a whole lot of nonsense...as expected i was denied. it was only be Gods grace that i scaled through.Firstly a reputable MBA program is usually quite expensive and i don't think they are very generous with MBA scholarships. If an MBA is what you decide on i believe you should write GMAT and i hope you have a BSc. Then you can start applying to good schools if you get admission please please and please fill the ds160 by yourself, also do a lot of research about the school and when you get to the VO express yourself with passion and keen interest. As for the previous filling done by the agent all u can do is pray cause the VOs sometimes look at the previous filling. Thats all i can say for now. Wish u the best. Petersburg94: 2 Likes |

My Intention was not to discourage but to advice. Most reputable MBA programs usually require gmat and that is the standard and the VOs know this if you come to them for an mba without gmat they are likely to deem you unserious, Business schools are expensive so it is expected that you know and do all research when looking to go for an mba.Usually schools that don't require gmat for admission are usually low ranked or even blacklisted schools. My advice for applying for mba programs is to write GMAT and only apply to the top 50 or top 100 schools using us news and world report you can check for them and also tally your gmat score with the average score of their admitted class. But there are also some instances here on nairaland that people get approved without writing gmat. All in all wish you the best in your interview tomorrow hope you can share the outcome with us. As for advice on what to do just simply say the truth if asked about the gmat " your school did not require it ". Milnes: |

I think this is adequate for undergraduate as you are not expected to have broad research knowledge, know professors etc. where issues might arise is. did u write any standardised test? Your age? and if the sponsor account is a business account. Just work on the "why the united states " question Adebanjo669: |

Was curious as to why your interview was so short and immediately went through your page and it is obvious that your denial was due to several mistakes that you made filling your first ds160 and also in your first visa interview which was not coherent the previous VO noted some issues and i think the recent VO saw and decided to refuse you. sorry but you were not prepared enough and your story was inconsistent in your first interview which has been noted in their system. All the new VO had to do was read through the previous of notes of why you were previously denied and deemed you an immigration risk leading to the denial. Also your going for an MBA without writing GMAT that is a not a very good sign, and rarely will a ranked MBA/ Business school will consider your application without GMAT. Do enough due diligence and research don't just apply because VO's know how the american education system works. But still Goodluck whatever u intend to do next. Petersburg94: |

SORRY BUT YOU MADE A HUGE MISTAKE !!! a Us visa is used for entering and leaving the united states and does not need to be renewed as long as your wife was a student and was IN STATUS she didn't need to come back to renew anything, as long as she remained IN STATUS through out the period of study. That is why for visiting visa despite having a validity period of 2 years there is a 6months stay duration per travel, and if you stay more than 6months your are OUT OF STATUS your visiting visa may still be valid but you are OUT OF STATUS. The key is to always REMAIN IN STATUS You should have done some due diligence by researching on the topic before telling her to come back and renew. Sorry but your situation seems quite dire. As a solution i think you should get an immigration attorney and see if the denial can be appealed. i also wanted to ask under wat immigration law clause was she denied was is 214b or another one ? Hopefully its not under 212(a)(9) or 212(a)(6)(C)(i). naijatisumi: 2 Likes 1 Share |
