The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, Dr John Adekolawole, alongside other eminent Nigerians have been honoured by Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria(IMPAN) for the display of outstanding leadership qualities.

According to the association, the Rector and other personalities recognised had been contributing immensely to the growth and development of the society through selfless and focused leadership.

The award titled “Change and Good Governance for Leadership” was presented to the awardees recently in their offices by the IMPAN executives, led by its President, Prince Jude Ubaka.

Ubaka, while presenting the award to Adekolawole, in his office noted that an astute administrator and efficient leader like the Rector deserved to be honoured for his exemplary achievements.

He further explained that the Association, established six years ago is a collection of all magazine publishers in Nigeria who have chosen to speak with one voice particularly on professional issues and also to promote the ethics of the journalism profession in Nigeria and beyond.

Ubaka added that the Association is also founded to collaborate with other Non-Governmental Organizations towards promoting good governance and celebrating achievements of leaders in both private and public sectors in Nigeria.

The Rector, in his remarks thanked the association, as he pledged to continue to contribute his quotas to the upliftment of humanity and growth of the society, adding that there is hope for the nation if everybody contributes accordingly.
