sexkillz: [color=#000030]Ukwa is a failed attempt at groundnut!just cus you dont like it doesnt mean its puke or failed attempt at groundnut. C'mon, have some respect for God's gift to man. |
vivian chinaza: Lazy buttwell, maybe I havent been opportuned to do that...it might be fun anyway cus am always out to try new things except using ede for my soup o. |
joeydozzy: I don't think he has eaten it because once you taste, your umani taste buds never ceasethank you...tell them. |
ItsModella: I'm sure we're the only ones that hate the food. We need to start our own club and carry out research on the disadvantages of ukwa..and possibly recruit new membersmy dear, dont bother, it has no disadvantage. Have you forgotten your elementary science, the 6 classes of food...it contains it all. Thats the real balanced diet...you can even eat it everyday cooked different ways and you wont suffer from anything....ask around. |
ItsModella: Ukwa sucks jor...how do you call that bile looking stuff food?stop o... I can kill for that food o. |
vivian chinaza: Oh, I love it joor. I get to dance without music while marching it in the basket with my legs. Try harvesting cassava and tell me which one is harder.no thanks...will pass. |
Smartie gurl: seriously when mum wants to cook that meal, ofcuz she knows i dnt lyk it, she wil simply bring out my own share b4 peeling nd squeezing dem into pieces nd wil ask me to go nd fry 4 my self. Lolz, just hate it when cooked buh love it when fried. Wierd huh?....with coconut...oh, my God. |
ItsModella: I know that after ukwa, the next big food is Onugbu soup...how dare you host a traditional event without onugbu soup? you dey craze ni?babes, I assure you, that one na old school. They practically cook all the ofe ede these days....believe me. |
ItsModella: hahahahahah!! my dad said he's gonna make sure ukwa is served at my trad wedding when it comes...whether I like it or not is my damn business...befor nko....before it was soup but now its ukwa... I wonder what next |
ItsModella: yep!! I know...my dad has told me that countless times, he's always like "nwa a, i ghotaro ife i na kowa, ukwa bu nni for ndi welu ego"...yes yes I know..lwkm...this gal sef. |
vivian chinaza: Yes o. I plan on serving Ukwa on my Trad. Marriage. We have the tree, like 2 of them. So already told mum to start gathering them.my dear, to wash that thing na serious job o....and it can smell |
ItsModella: I think ukwa is over-hyped...seriously, it's not delicious...urgh!!na lie o...its just cus you dont like the food, joor. |
Ok then, its just a mixture of mgborodi and ero (okazi is ero, right)? vivian chinaza: Nah, afang is akwa ibom soup. The one they prepare with waterleaf, shelly periwinkle and Okazi leaf. |
ItsModella: I knowoh, what a pity..! I really wish you change your mindset towards that meal. Do you know that if you serve ukwa in a wedding or burial ceremony, you are somehow considered as a rich one? |
vivian chinaza: Nah..... I have settled for afang. He will eat olugbu soup when I cut my nails.is afang same as ero? |
vivian chinaza: That one no dey sweet because market people use so many things to make the bitterness go away fast, so those things kill the bitterleaf's original taste and aroma.then you need to buy from the old mamas....they are genuine to an extent. |
ItsModella: I know right? but if there's one Igbo food I hate, it's got to be ukwa. Seriously, I don't even understand why it's so expensive...I just can't, that stuff looks like vomit...*pukes*uh, dont say...even when cooked with onugbu leaf?? Modella, whats wrong with you? Thats the best food ever...jeez! |
sexkillz: [color=#000030]They don't eat without stew.mehn, their food na turn-off for me o.... I no di am o. |
vivian chinaza: Yes.well, you can still buy that one and soak it for sometime, wash once or twice and you good to go |
ItsModella: yes...you got it right, it's called ncha but we prefer to call it 'yam sauce'...it gives the food more appeal.my God, food dey Igbo land o....thats why I always run home from my service state whenever I get the opportunity. Those people are dulling me when it comes to food, joor. |
joeydozzy: you no sabi food.dont like it joor....fish for me anyday anytime. |
sexkillz: [color=#000030]Nah, you are not wrong. We call that mixture "ngor".we call it 'ncha' |
ItsModella: preparing ede for cooking is a real work-out, no kidding.eiya, but I really think you should try them sha. |
ItsModella: I've eaten Onugbu and Ora cold before, they weren't gummy. I insist that it would only get gummy if too much ede was added.alrite, guess the one I ate had too much of that...but going into food buisness, you will have to subscribe to the soup thickners |
sexkillz: [color=#000030]Lool. Enjoy your ede. Me love some spicy oha soup.I hate snails......so slimy in nature...yuck. |
ItsModella: I use ordinary yam for nsala...boiling, peeling and mashing the ede is too much work.you see...that was why you said its hard to make, abi? |
ItsModella: Ede is not gummy in the mouth..unless you add too much.allow it get cold first...lol |
Afam4eva: Ehen...potash used to make abacha and breadfruit |
Afam4eva: It's also used as a food thickener.neva heard of that. |
joeydozzy: In other words Maria and sexkillz eat treesgive us yours |
vivian chinaza: 3 of them together? Nah, I'm good with ede. I don't eat achi, but I use ofor to make nsala soup, that's if I can't get yam.lol, anyways, one man's meat is another man's fish....cocoyam, well, its just the risk of cholesterol building up...or the likes in long term usage. |
ItsModella: I just searched for the meanings of all those soup thickenerslwkm...this girl |
