Politics / Nigeria Comes Last On The Where-to-be-born Index List 2013. by Marinah(f): 12:55pm On Jan 02, 2013
We should be ashamed that countries such as Bangladesh,Kenya and Pakistan are far ahead of us in the chart. Anyway, I'm still proud to be Nigerian.

Celebrities / The Great Deceit Of Popular Nigerian Blogger Linda Ikeji by Marinah(f): 2:06pm On Dec 13, 2012
Linda Ikeji, Entrepreneur and Blogger seems to have forgotten so soon the popular maxim that says and I quotebb ''You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time''.

To become a successful liar, these are the couple of rules to remember - NEVER lie to anybody who is more intelligent and brilliant than you. NEVER lie to anybody who has an al-mighty magnetic memory and NEVER tell lies with numbers/figures Knowing fully well that not everybody on earth has lost the ability to reason substantially- Not yet.

The Lie
'If a man's tongue becomes poisoned with lying and its filth appears on him, its effects are like the effects of the autumn wind on the leaves of trees.'

I refer to a recently uploaded video on YOUTUBE 'LINDA IKEJI ON THE JUICE WITH TOOLZ' which at the 2:18th minute of the video, Popular blogger Linda Ikeji claimed to have started her blog in the year 2006.

Again, at the 2:48th minute of the video, In her words and I quote ''I started the blog in 2006, I din't start getting many readers until March 2007..I ran the blog four years without making money..''

'Lying extinguishes the light of man's existence and lights the fire of treachery in him. It also has an amazing effect in terminating the ties of unity and harmony between men and spreads hypocrisy. As a matter of fact, a great deal of misguidance springs from false claims and empty words.

Webmasters / Re: Do You Need Money To Become A Successful Blogger? by Marinah(f): 2:34pm On Dec 04, 2012
My Take on this - Well, you don't need money to become a successful blogger. Perhaps, I would say for most of us living in the United Kingdom or better still abroad. We are more advantaged than other counterparts in the world - especially Nigeria(I shake my head for that country) where PHCN/NEPA or whatever they call them will fail to bring light as much as 12 to 24 hours on a stretch. In such an instance, how would you become a sucessful blogger? except - of course, if you have a stand-by generator, unfailing/unlimited internet bundles, dedicated time and well - researched effort. One of the reigning/interesting blog on ground right now is http://amazingandweirdstories..co.uk/. Guyz, check it out. The good thing is you won't be bored on it.
Politics / Re: Why Do Most Nigerians Shout When They Speak? by Marinah(f): 10:14pm On May 31, 2011
'Why do Most Nigerians Shout When They Speak ?'',
Going by this, I wonder how many Nigerians the poster have met and interacted with to actually conclude that 'MOST NIGERIANS shout when they speak',
He/she must have met and interacted with about half of the whooping sum of millions/billions of the Nigerian population to come to a conclusion as dry as this.
Not all Nigerians shout when they speak and not 'Most Nigerians shout' when they speak,
Besides, since you made your judgement based on what you saw on television/media, there could have been other factors responsible for the intensity/loudness - it could be attributed to a technical/sound-engineering factor, who knows ?
Politics / Re: Obama, Cameron, Fashola: Are Left -Handed Leaders A Special Breed? by Marinah(f): 10:06pm On May 31, 2011
Been right handed or left handed has little or nothing to do with been a special breed.
It would be more preferrable if the statement goes like this 'Most of the famous leaders we have, happen to be left-handed''.
We have numerous successful leaders who had no share on the side of fame - and they are right handed, likewise we also have famous right handed leaders who are not over-glorified.
No denying the fact that the genetic make-up of left-handed people might have given them an edge in certain areas, right-handed ones have also not been found lacking in the concerned areas.
Travel / Re: The Life Of An Ordinary Nigerian Student In The United Kingdom by Marinah(f): 9:48pm On May 31, 2011
To be candid, it's quite difficult especially when you are self-sponsored.
I would advice those aiming for foreign certificates to try other European universities, few are still tuition-free but majority of them are not, at least
that's alot better than UK universities especially with the upsurge in tuition fees and visa factor, even the high cost of living.
Sometimes, I pity my Nigerian friends in uni,, they have to work to the limit to pay their rent, to feed themselves, etc , 'm talking about those who are sponsoring themselves and at the end of the day,, they end up dozing during lectures cos they are tired and can't help it.
Other peeps from high-profile backgrounds don't really stress much afterall there parents are money bag !
