well said, you enter the SAP market where your background fits, these days everyone wants to get certified without understanding the dynamics of SAP ERP, you end up not understanding the product eventhough you are certified, the best consultants are usually the ones that started as end users and worked their way to superuser or poweruser to funtional consultants / developers, this sort of experience is well sought after if you can translate business requirements into SAP |
currently working on an SAP inter-company project due to go-live in May, lots of data to be configured from SD, FI and CO-PA, working for a small company so they utilise every SAP experience you have, if you happen to be multi-skilled, believe small sized companies will take advantage, sometimes i find it difficult switching from SD to FI to CO-PA, controlling, MM,although it gives you an advantage to see the whole picture, it does not make you a master of one module, has anyone experienced this?? any multi-skilled SAP consultants in here?? |
those hoping to study in sweden, you better have more than enough funds!!! You will not find part time jobs here, even as cleaners, mcdonads, absolutely nothing!!! even Swedish born citizens find it extremely hard to find jobs, immigrants, chances are like 100-1, if you think am joking, please go check this website www.thelocal.se and go into the section ''Discuss' you will see exactly what am saying, even foreign PHD holders drive Taxis!!! please do your home work before you come here!!!! |
HI SAP people, any good news to share? anyone taken the exams? |
For all aspiring SAP consultants, all the answers you need are in here, all you need is browse through these 17 pages, all questions will be answered |
Hi it will be nice to write your threads in English as everyone here are not yoruba or even nigerians |
Yes all my SAP projects have been in either in the UK, Sweden and China, Dallas, Germany, was born in London anyway ( although lived in Nigeria for 9 years) well all my work related trips to Beijing and the likes, i had fun because i work with young people, so we do a lot of social stuff after work If you work for multinational companies, its very likely you will travel to local sites for global rollouts |

Yes i was In honolulu, stayed in waikiki or 17 days, that place is fabulous, paradise on earth, the best beach ive seen in my days, too many japanese though, they own that city well these days i am working on an FICO SDMM PP project, application support and global roll out, Uk company based in Stockholm, been here for 3 months now |
To the last question, if your background is IT related, then the best option in SAP will be SAP basis, why SCM or HR, have you got any logistics experience?? any supply chain management experience? any human resources experience as well?? You should check www.sap.com browse through the website, sure you will get an idea with your skill set fits in |
whats up SAP people, another end of year approaches, looking back, its been a very fruitful year, hard work, SAP continues to take me to places only in my wildest dreams, this year been everywhere from hawaii, thailand, frankfurt, new york, dallas, believe me, with hard work, you too can suceed and have a rewarding SAP career, good luck, merry christmas and a prosperous new year!!!! |
Hi I am sure some individuals have posted some threads how to get SAP material and what not, pls all it takes is an hour or 2 to browse through this SAP thread, every question will be answered and even more, i dont really have the time to start looking for SAP materials for anyone, i did not get or receive any jump start from anyone regarding my SAP career, if you are really focused on getting started, you will certainly not need to be spoon fed by anyone in here www.sapdb.info http://www.sapdb.info/forums/index.php?board=44.0 for every SAP document, loads of documents in here |
Hi to the Question with someone with petroleum experience, i believe SAP SD MM also SAP IS Oil upstream and downstream module will be beneficial |
HI Biola and welcome to this thread, from what you wrote, Siemens read your Cv and advised you to get trained up in SAP basis since you have a computer science degree, think they are correct as far as i can understand as your background seems to be more IT infrastructure, network rather than a functional SAP consultant, so i guess your skills will be useful to SAP basis, what makes you interested in SD ( sales and distribution) have you got any sales, marketing, finance related degree or background?? It will surely be hard to become an SD consultant without any sales or relevant background, if you want to switch, then i guess you need to trained up in sales, probably finance as well, maybe a post graduate degree in that ![]() I think it is very important to match your background to the relevant SAP modules or you will be chasing shadows well goodluck with what ever route you decide to take! |
well done Mike!! at least you have done the hard bit of pssing the certifications, Breaking into SAP consultancy, especially your first SAP role will prove difficult as you can imagine, it is quite normal for clients looking for multiple life cycles experience, how do you get that experience if you are not given the opportunity?? that was a question i asked myself a few years back, so happy i have answered that question, well wish you every best of luck, dont really know the SAP market conditions in Nigeria, assuming you are based there??maybe give your CV a retouch, join Linkedin, thats a good networking website, you can find me there, marks30@hotmail.com you can add me there, there are so many SAP groups you can join, international projects, maybe we should start a group, SAP consultants for the Nigerian market, you might get lucky there, i have been receiving quite a few calls as i have built a good profile anymore helps, pls ask |
Yes certification is worth having an entry level, has anyone actually taken the exams and passed?? share the good news with everyone |
the latest SAP rates in the UK, rates per day in the middle graph, you could see the 400 pound to 600 pound a day mark is back on the rise after the economic downturn, this is good news for SAP consultants, hopefully they will rise back to the levels of the early 90s https://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj204/djmarko1971/saprates.jpg |
HI all, i have been receiving quite a few mails from some forum memebers asking questions about SAP, sorryt dont mean to be rude but all the information you require is right in here if you bother to go through these pages, seems some people dont mind been spoon fed every detail about SAP, i dont mind the odd occasion but i have a job as well, i cant spend my time answering every question, it does not cost more than 10-20 minutes to go through this forum, seems some people are damn lazy, if i went through this route, dont think i will have this experience to share with others, there are loads of SAP consultants that will never share information with anyone as they dont want anyone else having a piece of the lucrative amounts SAP consultants are likely to earn Remember there are loads of Indians in Nigeria that have taken over the SAP market, dont think they will ever emply Nigerians in India, that also applies to European SAP consultants working in Nigeria, i can only imagine expatriates in Nigeria earning about 1000 US dollars daily plus accomodation, food allowance, flights back home and what not, these are what experienced SAP consultants in Europe and North America earn daily, some even more all depending on the project experience, multiple implementations, companies and what not, this is not hearsay, i am amongst these individuals, not trying to show off or nothing, i am trying to stress out the point, i worked my way up, over 10 years!! i am only 36!! the longer you wait, there are more flights to Nigeria dropping more SAP consultants, please stop sending me personal mails!!! |
Am i right to suggest a lot of people have given up in their quest to become the next´SAP consultant?? have not seen too much traffic in this thread, like i said from the word go, SAP is not for the faint hearted, it takes years of dedication, hardwork, sacrifice to achieve this status!!! |
FIFA- Well your team is now in a precarious position after the draw with Tunisia, some will say it is almost over, qualification is certainly out of your hands, unless by some miracle Tunisia drop points, they will certainly be in South Africa next year, what is your opinion? Amodu- well the Tunisians have 2 games to play for, nothing in guaranteed in football these days, 3 point in 1980 is not the same as 3 points in 2009, they have to fight for their lives!! FIFA- The mood of the fans is definitely downcast, i spoke to a few supporters after the match, they reckoned if the selection process was fair in Nigeria, you will never have this job in the first place, any comments Amodu- well the supporters are entitled to their opinions, the selection by the NFF were free and fair, i was considered the best man for the job, it was rather unfortunate that the super eagles did not have the killer zone and our defence did not stick to our game plan FIFA- some supporters even had some harsh words that you need to return to school to learn more about the game, any comments Amodu- well Terry, i am qualified for the game, i have a proud unbeaten record, i am yet to lose in the qualifiers, we can still make the world cup by sheer luck FIFA- A good team makes their luck through hard work and discipline, your team seems pretty much average, your defence was caught napping today, the FIFA technical committee made a note of these findings, any comments Amodu- who are the technical committe?? are there any Nigerians involved? is a Pa Oni on this commitee?? they dont know anything about football, these days football is so technical, you close your eyes and your opponents have fired 4 past you, did you watch Argentina? coached by the great Amandla, they were beaten soundly at home by a killer squad from Brazil FIFA- what next for you, will you call in your resignation or see yourself out for the next 2 matches Amodu-I cannot be sacked, i inherited a bad squad from Berti Vogts, the team is pacthed up like a dress maker will patch up clothes, i am making the most out of a bad situation, i have a contract till 2015, at the end of this campaign, i will sit down and assess our squad, a few new faces will be brought, some definitely have to leave the set up as they dont play to instructions FIFA- It was apparent, your full back Adeleye needed cover as he was left for dead on several occasions, why did you not change things around, any sound coach would have made adjustments Amodu- FIFA i am sound ke!! we fashioned a game plan for defensive cover and midfield football, we did not scout the Tunisians well, the VHS tape was sent at the last minute so we had barely 1 hour to counterract their game plan They had 2 killer wingers wo made life difficult for us, i shouted instructions to my captain to clamp down on these players, he did not play to instructions, these players perform very well at club football and make life difficult for the average nigerian fan when they play together, this must be stamped out FIFA- good luck in your final 2 games Amodu- thank you FIFA 7th September@ press release |
Just started a new SÀP specialist role, my third day on the job, should be exciting, its here in stockholm for a UK company but with offices world wide, seems my new role is SD based but it seems they want me to cover other modules like FI MM, some finance as well, i can imagine the work loads will be quite different to my last role, there will be some travelling involved to local sites in Dallas and maybe India, going to Dallas to meet up with the other SAP consultants and brain storm This role will certainly be different from my other roles as i will assume a greater responsibility for the SAP landscape in Sweden, also have to take Swedish classes as my swedish is not up to scratch well this summer, i had a well deserved vacation that took me to Hawaii, Thailand and New york, was off for 2 months and i enjoyed every bit of my time off, now time for the hard work, the outlook on the economy looks promising to say the least, hopefully big corporations will release big budgets for SAP implementations, apparently i hear there are 30000 consultants roles to be filled, well thats good news, SAP is still a closed society of sorts, getting in is ever so difficult but once in and with the right experience could be very rewarding and can take you to places you can imagine well better get back to work now |
Think i have given my fair share of my quota, its up to every individual to pursue their dreams, sorry not been rude, i dont know much about the Nigerian SAP market, so i cant give more advice in that respect except the Indians are running things in that department and will do anything to ensure the likes of yourself dont get into this lucrative chosen career unless you decide to change this Every information about SAP could be found on the internet, there is no need asking for help like kids!!! if you are serious abpout an SAP career, all the information you need is already posted in this thread, you have to branch out and create your own career progression Just remember for every day you spend lazing around here wirthout trying to help yourselves, the Indians have/ are making up to 600-700 dollars a day plus expenses an accomodation for Nigerian SAP contracts!! hope this helps!!! |
just keeping a low profile really, just back from hawaii and travelling to Thailand this weekend for a week, so basically enjoying my time off, like i said the Indians are all over the place, fair play to them, they seem to have cornered the SAP market in Nigeria there are so many opportunities, high salary, high contract rates, that why some will do anything possible to make sure they continue getting all the big SAP roles well up to you lot to change the staus quo |

hawaii is a beautiful place trust me!!! been here for a few days, its indeed paradise!! the people, lovely beaches, what else can i say |
well finishing a project after 2 and a half years and now off to a well deserved holiday in Hawaii for a month, already signed a contract for a new assignment in September, there are opportunities for people that work hard at passing SAP certification, in these hard times, you need a career where there are endless opportunities, SAP might just be that career, hopefully the financial crisis will ease off and companies will start hiring and big budget porjects will be signed so we can all get good roles |
Can understand Kiwi frustrations at trying to answer every question, he like me dont get paid to give you free information that could possibly kickstart your SAP career, so far in these 12 or more pages of this thread, Kiwi has given his freetime to answer at least 70-80% of SAP related questions he has practically answered every question, we have provided loads of free links where you can carry out your research and it does not hurt for you to do that, seems some individuals dont want to go through these threads, only preferring to ask direct questions when the answers are already there To me thats laziness and he has every right to be frustrated, remember we are giving up some free time, we are probably using company time to share our vast knowledge on these threads i get people asking repetitive questions, i suggest you log onto www.sap.co.uk , you can ask them so many questions, they have consultants paid full time to answer questions related to where you fit into SAP, certification questions and just about anything from the SAP world so far dont think i have read that someone has taken the exams and passed, remember the Indians will be loving this, all mouth and no action, as we speak, there will a connecting flight from Europe to Nigeria with a number of expatriate SAP consultants who will get paid 500-800 pounds day plus accomodation and other benefits to take your jobs This statement should be enough for you to get that kick in your backside that is neccesary, once again, if your background is Finance / accounting, SAP or ERP financials FICO will be your field, if you are sales/marketing/ logistics oriented, then SAP SD/MM will be the natural progression, you have the other new technologies like SRM, CRM, SCM, HR if you have this sort of background, if you are from the IT background, then SAP tech, basis will be useful, if you have project management experience, then SAP has a new solution manager course available and project management as well If you are in the retail sector, SAP has Retail, IS Oil, Apparel and footware, Defence amongst others, SAP has a solution for mid sized companies as well The latest version of ERP are ECC7 eventhough it is not widely used yet, some companies are still using the ECC6 version and ECC5 SAP has now some levels of certification, the entry level is now called the SAP foundation certification for would be junior consultants, there another professional certification and a senior one as well SAP are making more money by doing this, there are other courses / training available, busines process expert is another one, this seems to be where ERP is heading now, these days its no longer considered important for having configuration skills, you need to be able to apply this skill to your clients business needs Please stop asking Kiwi too many questions as you are likely to piss him off thats if you have not already, a serious would-be consultant dont need to be spoon fed!!! |
For those prospective candidates for SAP or ERP FI certification, in the UK SAP academy are running the complete certification training program the course fees are £12520 and you have to take these courses to pass the exams Please see details of the FI Academy tracks running this year. All of these courses will take place at our Clockhouse Place location http://www.sap.com/uk/services/education/locations/clockhouse/index.epx Any course content can be accessed via our education portal at the link below: https://service.education.sap.com AC010 £1975 + VAT 11th May 2009 AC200 £1975 + VAT 18th May 2009 AC205 £1580 + VAT 26th May 2009 AC201 £790 + VAT 01st June 2009 AC280 £1185 + VAT 03rd June 2009 AC305 £1975 + VAT 08th June 2009 AC210 £2250 + VAT 15th June 2009 AC202 £790 + VAT 22nd June 2009 Quite expensive if you ask me, there are independent providers of the courses, usually around the 1800-2200 pounds mark , I can assume SAP charges these figures because they know the potential revenue of consultants SAP is definitely big business and not for the faint hearted, well good luck!! |
guess the Illiterate led PDP are running scared, in a so called 'democracy'' that they are preaching, Nigerian citizens should be allowed to meet Obama if they need be, it just goeas to show the sort of leaders you have in that country, morally bankrupt, illiterates, disgrace to society |
