It depends on your school. Ok. But I know it will be expensive |

Mandeyy: Apart from the high school fee of state universities, the EBSU medical school is as good as the UNN medical school. I was once in UNN before going to EBSU. If I compare the UNN's and EBSU's faculties of basic medical science, then EBSU has a better facility.
When I was in UNN, they would share the time, and some of us would sit under the mango tree close to the gate of the Anatomy department learning osteology, so that those groups doing practical in the histology laboratory and those doing dissection would be through before it would be our turn. The same scenario took place in both the biochemistry and physiology laboratories.
Moreover, the governor is now building a state of the art teaching hospital.
Even the EBSU school hostels at the Presco campus are better than that Kenneth Dike and Mbonu Ojike hostels at UNEC that are dirty.
The soakaway pits adjacent to my room at Kenneth Dike Hostel overflew their brims and everywhere was smelling badly due to faeces, yet they never repaired them or evacuated the excess faeces until I left the school. We inhaled the bad air all the time.
Even the department of physiology is a makeshift house. When I came to UNEC, I lost the respect I had for UNN. In fact, some federal universities are leaving in past glory. I did my first degree at UNIZIK, and I discovered then that the federal universities only have reputable names. Aside the name, they're not better academically than most state universities. That's my experience.
Lastly, I can confidently tell you that most medical students of UNN will prefer EBSU to UNN. In fact, most of them will choose to transfer to EBSU rather than remain in UNN. The management has messed up the UNN medical school. It is true that 'some' federal universities are living on past glories. I will even choose a standard state medical university over a federal medical school but when you consider the cost of going to state medical schools, you will have no choice than to opt for the federal ones even if they are poorly managed. |

Darkwallet: Well, it depends on your school. In my own school, there's a window period of a month or thereabouts btw MB3 and resumption for 600L where students are allowed to do electives anywhere . I know about three guys who were in the USA 2yrs ago for this same purpose. Please how long is the window period? And I thought it is done only when you are in final year |

Abdulrahman1987: Compare the difference of 78 in BUK with 400+ in eastern institutions I don't have your time. Look for someone else to agure with. And please don't quote me again. |
Education › Re: Reasons Easterners Are The Most Admitted For Medicine, Law And Engineering by Martins134: 9:43pm On Oct 05, 2020 |
Abdulrahman1987: stop lying
if ABU, UDUS, BUK admit above quota it will just be a small number
like BUK quota is 100 and they admit 120, that is still sensible not UNN, ABSU etc that will admit 400+
stop lying BUK quota for Medicine is 100 and they admitted 178 and 220 for Law and they admitted 330. I agree that UNN, ABSU and other eastern universities admit way above the quota but most other universities all over Nigeria do the same (with very few exceptions). I don't have the time to start arguing with you 'cause I have more important things to do. You can believe whatever you wish that's your cup of tea not mine. Arguing with someone who just wants to start a fight is a total waste of time. P.S. Don't create a nairaland account to start arguements (it seems so from your recent threads) that's a wrong reason for creating one. Behave like an adult not like a little child that is confused. Thanks. |
Education › Re: Reasons Easterners Are The Most Admitted For Medicine, Law And Engineering by Martins134: 9:18am On Oct 05, 2020 |
Abdulrahman1987: REASONS ARE.
1. Violation of admission regulations Eastern institutions always admit above quota (capacity) for example schools like UNN, ABSU, IMSU, UNICAL always admit over 400+ for professional courses which is more than the quota, UNN quota is 180 but they used to admit 500+
2. Greediness Just to generate money from students, Eastern institutions admit above quota to get more money in their pockets. even on the supplementary list some students pay themselves into the list
CONSEQUENCE
1. it leads to frustration : Like last year, after UNN admitted 580+ for medicine, the school administration have to transfer most of them to other departments which will get students frustrated
2. Unjustifiable failing of students : They tend to fail students just to moderate the quota
3. Suicide
COMPARING WITH NORTHERN INSTITUTIONS
Northern institutions are sharp opposite of the eastern
they maintain quota system, they are law abiding and just And who told you Northern institutions maintain the quota system. ABU, BUK, UDUS and other Northern institutions admitted above their quota for Medicine, Law or nursing. Admitting above the quota is wrong and it is an act that most universities both in the south and north do. So stop painting it as a crime only universities in the east do. It was wrong of you add the bolded and please do proper research before saying anything. From the look of things, you just posted this to start an online tribalistic war and not to call the various institutions to order. |

And two months is quite good enough, but you will have to cultivate willpower to push through because you will be forced to master a lot of materials. Generally you will get tired really( the brain consumes 30% of oxygen and can go higher the more it works harder) fast but build stamina as you go.

From the pics it looks like you posted only the back of the hospital. Show us the wards, front and interior. By the way the pics are not looking bad. The hospital just needs necessary sanitation.
The fact that a University teaching hospital is still on a temporary site is really bad. Even when the permanent site is almost completed and they can move in.
Please share more pics. |

I contacted Jamb through their support link about it. They replied to my msg saying that it is general among all the 2020 candidates. That everyone's date of birth isn't in their profile.
Is that true? I don't want a story that touches the heart. Same here. I contacted JAMB one month ago and they said they will resolve the issue but it is still like that. |

Dsplendid: I don't know the exact number of times one can retake a particular MB in Unizik. I have only heard it's 3times. I'm still in 200level. But I suppose the number of retakes is dependent on the degree of failure. There's a kind of failure that might get one packing out on second attempt. So it's relative. Moderate failures might have the grace of 3 times or 4 if there's such provision.
Are you going for Unizik? Though this wasn't for me. Are you a unizik medic? I'm an aspirant and have been trying to meet a medic from unizik but unable to find any. |

I agree with you totally on this one. Allowing medical students (and also nursing, MLS and other health related courses) mainly the clinicals and final year won't just help in the fight against Covid-19 by providing more manpower but will also equip them and give them more exposure in the medical field.
Please Mods should move this to front page. |

atirenesam: 2. Identity Fraud: Upwork takes identity fraud seriously. If you get kicked out because of ID fraud, you can never open another account again. But I must say here: Upwork is by far the most racist freelance platform in the world; and while I will not support ID fraud, I cannot control your actions; however take note—if you must be a crook, do not get caught (PSD—Photoshop editable, U.S. Drivers Licenses for all U.S states ) DM: 09061502932 for more info. This is not totally true. I'd prefer you say that the clients on Upwork are racist not Upwork itself. I stand to be corrected though. Nevertheless I'd prefer failing as a Nigerian than winning with a fake identity because one day you'll surely be caught. Why would you build a business on lies? |
