The problem with situations like these is we are never told about the mental wellbeing of such a woman. In Nigeria, most grandmothers spend time with their daughters or family members when they have a baby, teaching them how to care for it and also caring and feeding the new mothers or, irritating the hell out of the couple. I can bet my money on the fact that she probably is suffering from Post Natal depression and just can't cope and I feel terribly sorry for her that rather than being rallied around and shown a lot of love, these useless witches would try and sell the baby and the innocent being has come to some kind of harm. I am mortified. It is not a Yoruba thing. An Igbo doctor not too long ago was arrested as they found a number of young mothers, all impregnated and cared for by him until the birth of the babies, who were handed over and the girls paid. What do you think the babies are being used for? Bad behaviour is just so. Let us not regionise it. |
Madam Blige, take it easy, The issue was about relocating. Cleaning, Security work etc is circa (late 80s to mid 90s) Eastern Europeans took over a few years ago from Eastern and Central Africans who passed the baton to Brazillians. Get with the programme. Nigerians moved into the financial sector in droves as mortgage and loan brokers about 11 years ago and made huge profits. What about immigration law? Nigerian restaurants, events managers, club owners, property developers, church nko? money transfer/foreign exchange agents, I don't know a single cleaner! I am a trader and can't sell my products at the same 'giveaway' prices mainly due to costs i incur exporting to Nigeria. My Iranian friend laughs at the costs compared to hers. Everything in her container or box reaches its destination. The Ports in Lagos houses more thieves per sq inch and I doubt anything is being done about it. Security is a huge issue and if I only receive 3/4 of what I sent, who will meet the costs? Think about it. That is before adding the overheads. So, yes, whoever compared certain brands of shampoos that cost £1 in the Poundshop, to those that costs £4.29 in Boots nationwide, to those that costs at least 3k in Nigeria is current with the trends. Cougar was stating a fact! I will not sell anything in the Palms for love nor money because, my clients will suffer for it. |
I laughed so hard, my sides ached, U guys r 2 much |
AbyDee, You read like a woman with far too much time on her hands. I am not sure this is so much about your husband as it is about you and your unfulfilled desires. It can't be that exciting to clean the house, look after a child all day long and then feed your underwhelming hubby. Just some suggestions, 1. Take up exercise. Apart from being a great stress buster, will do more for your energy levels and sex life. If you can't afford childcare and don't have friends who can have your child for 2 hours, a few times a week, take the child on your back for a long walk daily. Have you any idea what all the thoughts and sorrow is doing to your health? Cheer up, abeg. 2. Take up a course or learn a new skill. You probably gave up work to look after your child but if the child is of school age, then you should consider working on a self employed, part time basis to add to the income of the house. Perhaps your esteem has been stripped from the chop money situation. I would have to earn my money and contribute to the welfare of the family even if I marry Adenuga. 3. Speak to your doctor. It could really be a case of post natal depression that has very little to do with binding. It happened after the birth of my first child because it can be a shock to the system. Since I knew what to expect later on, I was fine. |

Can I have the size (length and width) of the walls you want decorating. Do you require a sponge and the paste? Fill me in as much as you want. I have quite an extensive range and some one-off pieces for furnishing, You could look at Ralph Lauren wallpapers, B & Q, Laura Ashley, Designer Guild websites for ideas. I stock them too. Lawyer, Can't thank you enough as I am in the process of buying a property. I wondered if you undertake conveyancing and how I could get your details. Marvel |
Thanks, guys, about the day to day issues that you encounter. I am glad to have found info on inverters with agent's contact details. I am looking for a BQ/Chalet in GRA Ikeja, Shonibare Estate. I loathe the Island but feel that I might have better options for primary schoolds so my ad included Apapa, VI and Ikoyi. It would be nice to find information about top primary and nursery schools circa 09. I know about Grange in Ikeja and Coronas on the Island. Inverter would help me with light. No one is writing about Solar Power - is that now out of fashion? Can't that take care of bulbs? |
A 2/3 room BQ/Chalet on the Island or Ikeja - GRA, Shonibare Estate, Opebi, Adeniyi Jones, off the Allen Avenue, walking distance to Ikeja Country Club is highly sought for dream tenant who wants a stopover for a year whilst looking for a home in Lagos. It would be great if the compound has the following: Nature - fruit trees, any tree, flowers, garden, turfed lawn Security/water/generator Close to good private primary schools such as Corona, Grange, Avi Cenna etc No dogs Use of swimming pool and or gym would be lovely. Failing that, close distance to a good gym Situated off main roads and in quiet residential area, not opposite or remotely close to churches(except Catholic), mosques, markets etc Please send images of property to marvel10UK@yahoo.com I am happy to wait if property not immediately available and would renovate if located in the right area. |
