It is amazing that only one poster saw what looks like the burnt corpse of a baby? The last pic! I hope that it is not the case. How sad that anybody, let alone 3 people lost their lives. I am also saddened why Nigerians confuse ignorance with poverty. If that is the case, why is it that in Nigeria, the poorest can recite holy books back to front? It is a case of misplaced priorities. Fashola MUST impliment an internal immigration service to Lagos. If you are not bringing any added value like with Canada or Australia, stay where you are. The place is brimming with hoodlums, Okada driver apprentices just when area boys got jobs on BRT. Enough is enough! Have you looked at the lake or whatever it is by Unilag? There is a huge community of tin houses on the water. There is the issue of pollution and they need to go. Lagos is a bloody eyesore and not worth the amount of taxes the government demand, as it looks like a ghetto. They should clear this carnage and provide affordable housing for the employed. You give an estate to unemployed and it will look like Dolphin Estate. Fire or no fire, they should stop building shanty towns everywhere. If you allow them, they will do it in Banana Island. Nigerians have no regards for law and take this unruly act around the world to the detriment of others. |
Be warned, you are entering proper Omonile territory!! Make sure you do your homework before you part with cash. 800k is steep but it is more developed than Agbara, that remains an industrial area and a goldmine for land escavation to my horror. Ogun State officials for land matters are re.tar.ds!! Lusada has what I believe is the best food market (every 5 days) and makes for easy commute to Lagos (via Ota) and Unilag on a good day. It also is fairly close to Badagry and Seme, Cotonou but I wouldn't have put it at 30mins. Has a fairly dynamic mix of people as it houses Crawford University and a large church, (Christ Apostolic Church? Camp of some sort) I would, if I were you, buy land from an estate. I think it is easier as the ownership can be easily verified. This your 'guy', do you know him? Be warned as you don't live in Agbara. My lawyer's colleague, a seasoned Agbara conveyancer was duped on land matters. So I tend to paint the lawyers with the same brush as the agents. I consider myself well travelled but I would choose Lusada with its Village-y outlook (they make bucketloads of fufu) over most ghettos in Lagos anyday. |
Not a few rotten eggs. Nigerians are pathological liars. It starts from youth and very little to do with the government. Be it the player with 8 girlfriends, what do you do to keep them in tow? Lie! Borrow other ppls cars to look good, borrow jewelry. Unilag girls are seasoned liars in reading the London A - Z (Map) and going to extents to lie about which parts they stayed. Why would that be important? A Nigerian male worker can never say I don't know this part of town, I don't know what the word means, I have never seen this before. I feel terribly sorry for the victims. They are dealing with dysfunctional people who have never been loved. So because you have a gullible or vulnerable partner, you should syphone all their funds? Sorry, that is thieving! Let us call a spade a spade. And all those mugus who claim 90k or 300k is too much, calculate what your prosmicuous sisters gain from their several pot bellied lovers over a period of time. It is the constant lying that shocks me. |
Naija's love cheap (and often dangerous) building materials. I was shocked to find imported taps sold for 150 Naira. They have very little interest in health and safety matters but are happy to spend their dosh on clothes, fast food and cheap thrills. That said, less fire incidents reported than falling buildings. Then again, where is the census? |
Poster, you did very well. God bless your efforts! Kai, Lusinoh. Tufiakwa! Person is sharing a traumatic experience that had a positive turnaround and the jerk waffles on about pics. She did not ask to be photographed any more than she asked to die. What is private about Oshodi? It is okay to take pics of your bits and stick it on FB and the likes and when someone photographs a real experience, you are writing nonsense. I really don't think Nigerians are wicked just perpetually afraid. They frighten themselves by watching daft Nollywood movies to actually do anything. A 'ghost' might 'catch' em. |
Talk about dumbing down, It ought to be banned! The terrible acting is akin to those in bloody Nollywood films. It is intended for monkeys not human beings. Rubbish soap, rubbish acting, rubbish audience. Cock Crow at Dawn, Village Headmaster and Nchioku any day over this kelebe soap. |
Poster, it was humane and brave of you to do this. Whilst we are on the subject, I am suggesting: 1. The Ogun State Police begin investigating the likely(unanimous, I am afraid) assault charge on this man. Sadly, because the Nigerian Police have proven to be criminally minded and so desperately cheap, I believe they will be bribed to drop the case. 2. Oyedipo should publicly apologise as happily this has now left his kingdom. He needs to address his church members, the Nigerian public (and throw a line about Yaradua's visit), those in the Diaspora and Christians globally. 3. I would like to see Organisations against violent and general abuse towards women campaign the government on this woman's behalf. It would be helpful if Igbos who tend to 'stick together' can put some money together to get a notable human rights lawyer like Keyamo (check where he worships o) behind her. Kai, how I wish Fawehinmi was alive, 4. Around July this year, an acquaintance was crying her eyes out at her decision to allow her daughter attend Oyedipo's Abuja University. Since she and her husband can be classed as poor, they couldn't turn down the scholarship the girl was fortunate to receive. But as a closely knit bunch, the decision for the Uni to take the girl's mobile phone (all the students I hear) proved too much as they couldn't verify her needs. The girl did not go with much, they just couldn't get hold of her. Is this not an abuse of her human rights? If that girl was ever in a situation where she was abused by someone in an authoritative postion, how would she tell her folks? Someone advise Oyedipo not to allow arrogance make him fall badly. 5. It is high time Oyedipo is made to pay tax, as it is clear that he is more of a businessman and less of a so called MOG. All this buying private jets needs to be tallied against the tithes to the church. If it is from his pocket, no issues. If it is from the church, sorry, |
@ Clip, that is the point! Sadly the bitch killed a professional (I believe a doctor) who contributed to society more than the drink driving harlot ever did. Your reference to 'back to life' doesn't apply, Idiot! |
Thank you o, Owobokiri, People have no idea how that man owns the Nigerian customs and NPA. Just make the mistake of bringing your so called ship of cement or even rice. Whether you have a licence or not, wait and see how long it takes you to clear it. I will be watching this like a hawk. |
1025, Jonathan is not a magician! Not sure what your waffle about Japan and America is about. Let us stick to Nigerian issues on NL. Cement prices literally doubled in weeks a few years back. It should not have been allowed and I am very happy that the government has decided to peer into activities concerning Dangote. Life is more than being listed on Forbes. |
Best news I have heard all year. Nice one, Jono |
I wonder, It is all well and good telling me it is close to this and that when I don't know if I am just giving a tip to some dodgy omonile. Does the land come with C of O? Is it one of those gazetted things? Ah, ah, Lawyer is teaching us well, well. That said, you are doing well. The info is trickling over but these points are worth considering with your next post. That, and the fact that I will tell everybody you are honest when I am done with you. Literally, |
@T101 you were too busy abusing at school. What is hallot? Harlot! What is paiting? Could you be referring to make-up? You would know a harlot due to the volume of traffic up your backside. Arrow! |
A '10 min' drive after 45mins (no traffic) had to be aborted during a viewing recently. If you use mileage and approximate it correctly because all this 10mins get as e be. How long (in minutes) does it take you from Lekki first toll gates to Chevron for example? Time is money! I have sent you an email address. Tanx all the same |
Leave Nigerian women alone, Agbaya!! Traitor. |
There seems to be a huge discrepancy in your timing! Perhaps you drove at 2am. Use mileage not minutes, Post some images as this means nada |
I detected some tension/jealousy towards Igbos partly due to their success (financial) and although they tend to have fractions in their various communities, when in non Igbo areas, tend to stick together, sharing information via meetings and empowering one another. If you go to say Balogun market, if an Igbo traders runs out of goods to sell, will run off to the nearest Igbo or anybody's else's stall and sell it on their behalf. Ignorant Yoruba's will tell you they don't have it. When the Igbo trader becomes successful, it will be down to 419 and drugs not hardwork. Sometimes it is due to jealousy cos those chaps work very hard. I am neither an Igbo or Yoruba but discrimination wether from Almajiris to non-Northerners/NYSC/Whoever or Yoruba vs Igbo or Black vs White is wrong. Leave them jare, |
Poweredcom, leave out the naija women are this and that, Remember your mother and sisters could be as bad if not worse. Post was about MJ getting married. Don't use it as an excuse to be hating on Nigerian women. |
I am dissapointed to hear of such lack of hindsight on Buhari's part. I have often hailed Jakande as the best governor Lagos had (even better than Fashola, given the vulgar sums of money that changes hands these days). The traffic in Lagos is depressing. I saw work in progress on the railway lines and that is chugging nicely these days. I just couldn't understand why there is never any light in the carriages in the dark. Fashola must sit up with the metroline project. I feel that perhaps it has been slowed down not so much due to finances, but because it would put all those Danfo, Red buses etc out of business. Surely fewer ppl will drive if they can plan their journeys from A to B in x or y mins or hours. That is pretty much impossible in Lagos these days. Why should any human being have to leave their homes at 5am and then return at 10pm. It is unfair! |
This is daylight robbery!! How can one charge 500k rent and 200k for lawyer and agent. This is wrong! If the Inland Revenue charged such taxes on income, their offices would have gone up in flames since. Oniru estate ko, |
Well, I am glad I am not alone in thinking the article perhaps did not intend to, but actually reads like a good film treatment. Tobechi's ingenuity was totally misguided. It would have been nicer to read about him being some hot shot e-security consultant for all these financial companies. He would not be running away now, |
To an extent, greedy estate agents are to blame. I remember going to view some plots of land in Agbara 3 years ago, the agents wanted 190k per plot, the ibale wanted 130k per plot, after meeting me and my posse. My lawyer drove it down further and said if I hadn't shown my face to the ibale, he would have gotten away with 90k per plot. Is there any logical explanation to why the price almost doubled between the seller and the buyer? Simple. The agent! If you rounded the lot and dropped them into a bonfire, I wouldn't miss em. Fucking magpies, the lot of em' |
read!! poster wants to build 3 flats over 2 storeys. itk |
you guys are 2 much! Beating a number of so called blogs to the pics. I am pleased cos the saying about patience being a virtue rings true. Dakore's impending wedding had become a running joke so I am pleased for her. Goodluck and best wishes! |
Go on the castleweekly website. There is a recent and fabulous article with latest prices for all building materials (ok, for your flat at least). I don't think it includes labour but your question is a bit vague. I would look for a few ppl who have used a reliable building firm and then supervise a number of things. How do you supervise the mix of sand/cement for your foundation if you have no qualifications, experience etc You really need to do your homework with this one. |
I seek more info re plots at Opebi and around Allen. I trust they have C of O. |
@ Calway, Mr ko, Mr ni. I did not wish you dead. Your earlier and still idiotic rant was on the lines of 'until a loved one', which is totally uncalled for. I don't have to lose a loved one to realise that even 1 person affected is one too many. Since you mention Mutallab, how come with all the technology of those you want to welcome, he was able to beat security? Was it the FBI or a concerned citizen that stopped his actions? If it were a plane full of Nigerians, all you will hear is speaking tongues and panic. Go and fight your shadow. 3 years late indeed. Only yesterday, GEJ wants to have CCTV installed in public places so that is 7 years early in my books. Compare and contrast, that is all you know |
@ Calway, stop this idiotic manner of thinking, If you want a member of your own family to die, so be it! When the Twin Towers were bombed, was your father invited to help the Americans? Even with all their Security agencies, didn't 9/11 happen? What you forget is when human beings are determined to cause harm, they will go to any lengths to do so. What the so called Security agents in Nigeria have to do is 'sit up'. How was the container from Iran intercepted at Lagos Ports recently? Somebody was doing their job. How was the Muslim woman with AK-47s caught recently? Somebody was doing their job. Do you have a telephone number for any Bomb Disposal Unit in Nigeria? Have you seen any advert that teaches you how to deal with a suspicious parcel? Have you ever in your life seen a fire drill in Nigeria, let alone one in the face of a public disaster? Do you think those high ranking fools in our Military that were sent to the UK, US for training were not taught these procedures? They can't be bothered. Nigerians are not Health and Safety conscious. How many planes had to crash before the Minister of Aviation decided to revoke licenses of airlines that were using death traps as planes? If you recall, did he even want to resign? He felt the position was a birth right. I was proposing CCTVs as far back as 2003. This came up after a number of visitors kept 'losing' their suitcases in the Murtala Mohammed Airport. I was being proactive and did not think we needed to lose our limbs to get that far. Look up 'Proactive', would stand you in good stead! |
You are reading but not understanding. One is categorically told not to register foreign directors in security companies so aren't FBI agents foreign? |
Pips, try setting up a security company in Nigeria and see the idiotic criteria that you have to meet. Aside from the ridiculous amounts of money some organisation that considers itself above the Police and NDLEA (but uses Yahoo accounts) demands, the dodgy criteria I can't get my head round is the mandatory ex Police, Army or Air Force personnel in top management (please note that they do not have to come from a security background) and something about 1m share capital minimum. Aside from compulsory 'training' that was inferior and by that I meant it was not intelligence based, there was no atttempt to find out what expertise the registered company would offer. Bottomline is the security industry in Nigeria is run by jokers for bigger jokers. Sadly most managers (male I might add) as with everything in Nigeria, are reactory and not proactive. No need for FBI or Mossad. After they train and make huge profits from providing equipment, they will leave it for the same jokers to run. |
Blige, I don't live in Peckham, mix with ppl who rob others for a living. You really need to get some help for your trust and anger issues. You read like an angry, embittered person. I visited Peckham a few months ago after about 10 years. I do not have friends who live there nor aspire to live there. In Nigeria, I don't know anybody who lives in Ajegunle nor aspires to live there. Does that mean I am a millionaire? No! That said, I am aware that Ajegunle is responsible for a high percentage of talent in the Nigerian media, music and creative industries. Try and be happy. Life is not that bad. |
