I am with Dudu Negro on this one. |
Nigerian Police are a joke. Would you believe they don't even know that if you import a right hand car, you are by law allowed to drive it with foreign plate number for 3 months. The idiots will pull you up 100 times and demand bribe. Idiots! |
@ Desola is extreme but right to a certain extent. I don't think that most of the properties in Lagos should belong to non indigenes/residents. If, for example, Chinese or Indian folks own more than half of the choice properties on the Island, the first thing they would do would be to ban Nigerians from renting even if they are able to afford it. These sort of buying patterns are doing more harm than good for community spirit. In this day and time, Yoruba landlords are rejecting non Yoruba tenants. And, sadly, even Igbo lawyers who act for landlords are in agreement that Igbo tenants can prove troublesome. I have stood for Igbos in all other arguments but not for housing matters. They are doing more harm than good with the acquire, acquire mentality. |
The Chinese are terribly overrated. They are greedy and bite more than they can chew. They take on jobs that they know they will not be able to complete so integrity wise, they have nothing over Nigerians. The quality of their work is getting tackier so much so that some production of garments and shoes for quality designers have headed back to the U.K. The Chinese themselves have taken production to Pakistan and your guess is as good as mine, if they will pick up Urdu or any other Pakistani languages. Fashola is a pr1ck! I used to like him but he is terribly confused these days. I actually think he is going mad. He seems to start a number of projects he can't finish. Chinese ko, Vietnamese ni. Instead of him to discuss the abysmal charges of importation and exportation thru this hellhole called Lagos, he is talking nonsense. Bloody lawyers. You see one, you've seen them all. |
But on a serious note, this chap is proper humble. Getn into Kirikiri Max was a 'walk in the park' for me. Sitting in the courts 2ce during his trial, if he wanted to smite every personnel and get out of the country, it would be say 15mins tops. In my heart, I think he is innocent. If you see the court he holds within the jail itself, you would begin to understand how depressing power is, in Nigeria. I beg to understand why he hasn't escaped in all this time. Life ko, life ni!! |
Al Musty was feared by his so called superiors which is why he shouldn't have asked IBB nothing!! The junior officers were right abeg. The seniors were too greedy and compromised and just wanted to be leaders without any idea of how they would lead. All thieving bastards!! |
Not sure what wrong she has done. I wish her the best in her endeavours. |
The best opening ceremony ever!! Danny Boyle was truly magnificent. Culture is not something you can pretend about understanding. I am glad that it wasn't so much about sports in the ceremony nor celebrities but about the UK and how far it has come, where it is headed etc |
The issue here is obtaining money through deception. If it were a government official, everybody would support the motion. Theft is theft so if the perpetrator happens to be her father, he too should be taken to court. I hope Edo starts the trend of dealing with these petty matters swiftly as they have led to grander thefts today. |
If you lower yourself enough to collect any money from your errant uncle from America, I hope it leads to a really messy, sticky end for you. Barawo banza! |
Story, story. Not even a web page with images of what you are waffling on about? You want 7m for a 2bd. Is it 2 much to have it illustrated? You daft agents sha... |
You are an idiot and a disgrace to hardworking Nigerian females. You are the reason why most Nigerian males treat the women so cheaply. You want money from someone you don't like? And, are prepared to travel all the way to PH to flex? Perfect poster child for abortions. |
I think the Nigerian Custom officials that ticked off imports they did not see should also be jailed. They seem to be at the beginning and end of where the worst crimes to Nigeria take place. |
Sadly, too many Nigerian pastors vie for public office on the basis of their knowledge of the 'Word of God'. I don't condone anyone being misquoted, as it boils down to a lie but pastors should stick to what they know, particularly when they aspire to the very same seat of those they criticise. It just doesn't seem right to me. |
Guys, since you claim petrodolla and co are your slaves, don't waste precious time responding to them. I couldn't possibly bring myself to such levels. Let Ghanaians love their country and stop coming onto our forums. Their low self esteem issues tire me. |
RIP Pres A. Mills. That said, I don't like Ghanaians! My time in the UK exposed me to their slave-like mentality and someone correctly mentioned a monumental inferiority complex to Nigerians. They claim they don't like Nigerians but spend their time finding out what 'the hated' are up to, so they can compete. They have had it a bit easy over the past few years and perhaps the idiotic Professor who was busy criticising Jonathan just over a month ago, can see too that a sudden death of a president is enough to open a can of worms politically so I am waiting to see how it all goes. |
Go and sit down with this 'buy local' bleats. It is unbecoming jor. When I grew up, rice was only eaten on special occasions such as birthday parties, weddings and on Sundays after church. Rather than a pointless ban of items the average Nigerian finds quick to cook, how about sponsoring articles, research about healthy tubers such as yams (coco, water) sweet potatoes etc You think all the cookery programmes on the Beeb is purely for viewers entertainment? You should look into how many recipe books are bought, how much traffic is driven to pages on websites about food, how much money supermarkets make from selling items with menus showing customers how to cook delicious meals quickly. It isn't all about banning stuff. The problem is a number of leaders and would be leaders are too dictatorial in their leanings and less creative. It is such a shame. |
Wouldn't surprise me... Oduah has owned her oil farm before her ministerial position. What I am now interested in, is the price of diesel/petrol in the face of these claims. It isn't right that the average Nigerian continues to financially contribute to the wealth of these folks. |
NEVER! |
@ Engineerd, how much does a wifi Ipad 3 cost please? |
Yes o, I will be on the lookout. My lil uns have Ipads so I will happily support a local entrepreneur and buy em these also. |
Fashola is a dictator. He can't be operating a democratic government and may he never get his wish for a state police. In situations like these, people will be killed and nothing will be said nor done about it. Anybody who gives a 72 hour clearance directive is liable for such actions. Why would the police go there with loaded guns in the first place? Was it a fight against thugs or criminals? It seems as if he has woken up from his slumber since he won the elections. |
I went through the list of Lagos government officer a few days ago, while trying to seek the contact details of one office. I actually wondered why there wasn't a single non Yoruba name. I don't care for Igbo vs Yoruba issues on this forum as a whole but it seems a number of southerners can't comprehend why an Igbo man or woman be up a task within a government agency in Lagos and I am a tad surprised about that. It is okay to shout about racism if it comes from a white person but it completely okay when it is a case of the Igbos. I am not sure what the fuss is about as it is within their rights to request such offices too. |
Bakare should keep quiet please before he does more harm to the little reputation he has got. He wants to become president and so does Chris Okotie. Why should he predict another man's death? Is that what his job description has become. He should have educated his congregation no doubt but not predict such evil. Does he think he too might not end up a casualty of such attrocities? Which government has been better. They are all the same and he would be no better. |
My preference is for a detached home. I don't like these houses built on a single plot with no trees or shrubs. Obviously substandard building materials would have played their part too. No fire extinguishers, fire doors, fire retardent fabrics on sofas and curtains etc It is amazing how quickly the average Nigerian house burns to the ground. He should invest in a CHUBB safe for important docs, jewelry and cash in the future. |
Can't stop laughing. Thanks guys.... Crips is the one that gets on my last nerve. How hard is it to pronounce crisps? |
SimonAndal is a joker! His posts kills me. Eya, Naijas wont get his sense of humour in a long shot... |
That said, if you wish to have work carried out to such standards. Feel free to contact me but I don't do jale o (haggling)... |
No, Patsey, this particular image is not of a Nigerian home. That said, various homes are done to such standards today. Be rest assured. I will post pics of the next work I do. |
It would be proactive if SON can stop the goods from entering the market. That said, more grease to their elbows. They shouldn't warn people but turn up unannounced. |
Loads of alternatives. I would stick to a clean finish such as using plasterboards from 9.5mm (thickness), plaster over it and paint it so it looks like a wall. The attached images show the finish from the usual plasterboards.
