I made MRV payments for my son and I since October 29, 2024 and I am still unable to proceed to book an appointment.
It tells me Bank details updated successfully and yet no progress.
It's been nearly 3 months of frustration.

Do I create a new profile and upload the payment details, will that work?
Can I get a refund and restart again?
This is over N700,000.
Please I need urgent guidance.

You will need to send an email to lagosniv@state.gov following the format someone stated on this thread. Search for v44....some folks that had this issue got it resolved this way.

So I think it is more of them trying to physically screen as many applicants as possible. Most of the interviews are quite short and straightforward- except where overstay, birthing without bill payment and other types of infractions have occurred.

I meant that they are denying folks that are eligible for straightforward visa renewal more often these days from the comments on this thread, about four people that did IW got denied visas. Historically, they would have invited these folks for an interview and drilled down to the issues they have before rejecting the application. In these cases it seems they just refused with no interview invitation.

You'll need to ask the OIS office how to proceed. I only know that if ur submitting in Lagos your ds160 form should also be carrying Lagos. Same for Abuja OIS

Please my Ds-160 form says Lagos for the interview. But when it was time to book, I was only able to book Abuja. Is this going to be a problem? Or do I need to fill in another DS-160 form?

You have to change the location on your ds160 form. Check the ds160 website for instructions on how to do this.

Good morning, pls Which of the dates do I consider to drop off passports at OIS,is it the appointment on Avits or the date on OIS,as I got February on Avits but seeing January dates on OIS for drop-off. Pls somebody help me before I book the OIS. In addition, I have received the IW letter for us. Also,my avits states lagos but I want to use OIS outside Lagos.

Your ois and avits dates have to match. Pick the OIS date that is on your IW letter.

You can change the location of your avits, this will mean rescheduling the appointment. Also remember to change the location on your ds160 form too

There seems to be a lot of IW refusals these days. God help us all.

Someone eligible for IW on this thread narrated that even though he got an interview appointment on the website when he went to the embassy they told him to go do Dropbox. It has also been theorised on this thread that they have collapsed IW and interview to one calendar.

It’s like there are no IW appointments in Lagos for the foreseeable future. Can anyone confirm if this is true. I am thinking it is a glitch on my end.

DS 160 form is already showing Lagos - what I filled

I think that can be changed. Someone posted about this a while back. There are some steps on the ds-160 site you can follow. I have not done it myself though.

The error message is no dates available in your location (Lagos) I’m now in august still unable to click any of the green dates

I am experiencing same. I noticed Abuja doesn’t have this issue. I am contemplating using drop box in Abuja.

For the duplicate applicant issue you resolved by sending email, was your payment with GTB or First bank? I'm asking as the instructions on that format was for applicants with old payment on GTB.

Your last line is funny. I still have an unresolved issue "duplicate applicant" for my spouse. Payment since Sept.

For the one resolved, the error message "no active receipt " pops up whenever I wanted to reschedule appointment. The 1st ticket I raised was closed with the tag "resolved", even when the issue was not resolved. I then raised another ticket to complain about the issue and the fact that my ticket was tagged resolved, when the issue persisted. After which I kept checking to reschedule whenever I remember.

On a particular day, I just checked and discovered I can now reschedule and which I successfully did. I later observed the ticket changed to resolved.





In my own resoved case, I got that error when trying to reschedule.

I also had a duplicate applicant issue but got around that by sending an email to the Lagos niv email using the format someone mentioned on this thread. Similar to your experience, I logged on and noticed the error popup stopped appearing and I was on the payment page.

Yes, on the AVITS portal. The ticket was on hold as well. I just kept checking until I noticed the issue was resolved.

When do you get that error? Is it while scheduling appointment or rescheduling?

Did the ticket status change to resolved when the issue was fixed or you just tried scheduling again and saw it was resolved?

My ticket has been on hold for 2 months now. You are the first person I have seen that raised a ticket and had an issue resolved.

it was submitted someone shared his phone call via WhatsApp on the chevron 24 group chat and the dragnet personnel said once it uploaded successfully you are good

Same here o.........I saw someone said on this thread that you can change a number in your passport number and that it will go, so I did that, i changed number "0" to alphaphet "O" and I was able to move past that stage and to the payment stage. I intend to make the payment and then if there is an issue with the reconciliation, i can use that format that the embassy said one can use if you have paid and you havent been able to book an appointment but then i am still chilling and hoping that there is another way......

Send an email to the lagisniv email on this thread. Check earlier pages for the format. I progressed past this issue after sending an email to them. I wouldn't advise payment with wrong passport number.

Pls has anyone been able to progress past "Bank details updated" message after putting in your payment receipt number? I have waited for weeks now, i have also emailed the Lagosniv email. Nothing has changed till date.

Can you see the two accounts in the My Account section of your avits profile?

Please help with any info. I have the same duplicate application issue and can see two applications in the account section. Deleting one should solve the problem but there is no option to do so.

saw this in the student visa discussion. I guess it’s risky. Also if you have number 0 and you change to letter “o” on your passport it goes😂.

Please has anyone been able to get a “duplicate applicant found for this user” error on the AVTIS website resolved ?

It’s extremely fustrating that after making payment since Sep 6th, all calls and chats with the customer reps have yielded no resolution.

I used the chat button on the website. It’s on the homepage. Sometimes your browser can block it from popping up. I had to use Mozilla Firefox on an android phone. It wasn’t showing up on safari.

Each time I click on Pending Appointment Request all i see is to generate another payment link.

Hello, we seem to be having same issue. I paid since Tuesday last week, got the email payment confirmation from first bank. I have waited for a week plus now. I spoke to the customer care twice and they said I should wait till next week Tuesday, it should be updated by then .

They seem very nonchalant about the whole thing. It’s very fustrating.
