I haven’t read an actual research stating they borrowed the bead stuff from us but archeological excavations in Ife come to mind. Old Ooni terracota and I think bronze works depict them to wear a lot of bead especially around the neck/chest area. Also, the red bead [Iyun] and blue bead [Segi] were Ife items of trade that we took to as far as Senegal/Ivory Coast [the kingdom/empire covering that geographical space many centuries in the past - I think Songhai] and Mali Empire. We can draw inference that Ife/Yoruba transferred the idea of beads as an item of royalty to Bini. Only royalties back then wore red beads. The Bini do not have a record [historically or archeologically] to have had a bead industry or traded in it. We gave them monarchy, arts and we may have as well given them beads.

If I nor see literature on this, na thesis wey person fit work on o, at least a journal article.

I wish Nigeria would follow their example on free trade instead of doing all this protectionist nonsense. The ban list and forex restrictions are harmful. Then they dont address fundamental issues of productivity. Im not sure if the EU treaty the Ambassador advocating for is a good idea since i havent read it.

Refining and economic diversification is a must.
