BusinessI'm Always Having The Fear Of Spending Money! by matri6(op):
I find it hard to spend money..

I'm the type that grew up reading all these self help books about money,, so over the years I've ingrained some habit from those books, which is said to be financial wisdom, but turn out to affecting my lifestyle..

These books has made me a miser which find hard to spend on myself...

The books emphasizes on living below my means, saving, not buying things which are termed liability.

So of recent I made some money in accumulation of #12M, though in the approximate USD...

I wish I could change my lifestyle and get some gadgets,, but I feel fearful whenever I make the plans..

I derive joy watching the money there in my wallet/bank acct but I'm extremely fearful to spend it on what can make me happy and give me prestige cos I see them as liability (losses).

Anytime I bought an expensive gadget for myself, I feel guilt and unhappy just as if I lost my money on frivolities... And sometimes, I'm forced to sell it off.

I always have this negative mentality that I may become broke and it'll be shameful if I couldn't live up to the lifestyle I'm about to set for myself,,, or I'll become broke if I spend of liabilities,, so the fear of becoming broke and going to square one paralyzes my courage to spend hugely on anything.

Even with the apprx #12M I have,, I find it extremely hard to purchase any gadget or materials above 200k.

I had plan to purchase iPhone 14PM, which I'll love to acquire, but this imaginary fear always old me down from doing it.. I had plans to change my wardrobe to designer , but this imaginary fear is there..

Most times, I feel jealous of my friends having all these gadgets/materials,, sometimes I wish I was the one in possession of it ,, but I don't have the courage to buy them even though I have the money to purchase any of it at ease.

Though they say it's a psychological condition called Chrometophobia.. please how can I overcome it..

I know it's good to be economical,, but still yet I'm not happy with this lifestyle!

I'm an undergraduate, currently in my 3rd year.

Please, to the iphone users, which would be the better choice between iphone 13 and 12 pro max.

This is my first time getting an iphone, so I want a perfect pick. Minding the fact that both are almost the same price.

Purpose of buying is more of show off and functionality,,, never mind me o🙃

If you are a student in a university that has teaching hospital,, it would be quite better as they will tend to subsidize your fees and give you more attention,, probably you would be referred there by your school clinic..
.
But all the way sha, I wish you all the best
.
Just know this, what you are passing through has a solution,, so let one of your life ambition be to get the solution.. once you get that solution, I thought that that will be one of the happiest thing to happen to you in life.
.
Just as you've talked to ppl on nairaland,, speak to people in real life,, ask elders who has spiritual knowledge,,
.
If there is a spiritual way out, go there.
If there is medical way out, go for it...
.
.
You have alot more to do in this life, never let this sickness terminate it

Mrwhite09

I understand your situation right now cos is what I've passed true,,,
.
The sad reality is that in Nigeria, we lack specialist doctor and we are left at the mercy of those house officer who doesn't have broad understanding of diseases..
.
I was once in ur shoe(same illness), and I took almost same drugs as yours. But I was lucky to meet a doctor who could tell me what's the cause of my disease.
.
.
Form the symptoms you gave,, it's highly likely that you are suffering from "SUBCLINICAL HYPOTHYROIDISM"
.
Go for "tyroid function test for them to confirm this for you"
.
You might visit a specialist (endocrinologist), for cure and solution...
.
Just Google search the ailment I mentioned. Relate it to what's happening to you.
.
Your sickness is 100% curable!
.
There is nothing impossible in life,, except those we lack knowledge of
.
.
Remember you only live once on this earth, so it's a opportunity, enjoy it to the fullest. Do everything possible to ensure that you are alive!
.
.
If possible you see an herbalist that can heal you,, please do not hesitate to meet him for healing,,,, don't because of what pastor or ppl will say loose your life while it can be saved spiritually.
.
.
I hope my post can help you.
.
I understand what it means to be on constant drug
.
.
Again, die the thought that drug will kill you!

EducationIs Radiography A Good Course? by matri6(op): 6:16pm On Dec 05, 2022
Good day house,
As my topic implies, please I need your advice.

Actually I put in for nursing but I was eventually given radiography. Should I continue with the course or I should try another time to get nursing.

What I'm actually concern about these courses is the lucrativeness in nigeria and the ease to japa with it.
I understand that it's quite easy to japa with nursing but radiography is entirely new to me.

Please radiographer in the house, I will need your enlightenment.

wirinet:
Are there no oloshos in a "pass" system? Oya name one country or era there are/were no oloshos. In both the old Testament and new testament, there were oloshos. Even Jesus did not hate oloshos as much as you guys.
.
pls can you for once calm down?
.
i guess you're a female under the disguise of a married man. cos i can't understand why a man must be this emotional.
.
pansophist told you that he need not explain further that i've done that, yet you go on attacking him and not me.
.
well i guess you were one of those whipped by his redpill philosophy.
.
and again, pls don't attack anyone here. we've listen to your olosho claim. and we agree with them. thank you.
CrimeRe: Why is Yahoo no longer consider as a crime? by matri6(op):
wirinet:
Your over bias over religious mind should have told you that I don't have any disagreement with the post except when he referred to "oloshos" as a crime.
well, we both commited the mistake 'argumentum ad hominem'.
...
your attack on him is what prompted my response to you.
and, he is of course one of the nairalanders i revered the most.
...
and judging by what he wrote, he didn't called olosho a 'type of crime' but rather one of the 'symptoms of a failed system'.
...
he even went to the extent of listing pastor among them, to prove that he is not over-religious like you falsely called him. neither am i.
...
so, we are not here to judge what is bad or good. it is more of an amoral ideology.
...
and as regards to your own philosophical point of view. no one is agianst you. it's personal. but you can't force anyone to accept it as "right" or "wrong".
...
and i'm very sorry for my attack on your personality. i will correct that
CrimeRe: Why is Yahoo no longer consider as a crime? by matri6(op):
wirinet:
What do you have against oloshos that you are equating them to yahoo yahoo? Do they take your money under false pretenses?
this is the main issue with nigerians. they read to attack but never read to learn.

and, what is the correlation of the thread with what you wrote here?

and by the way he wrote some social menance in the country. why is it that olosho is what you only capitalize on?
...

Stupid dumb topic.
well this might be the reasons why you can't relate to or grasp the contents of the post.
.
1) you are from a rich or

middle class family.
2) you don't reside in nigeria.

3) you are raised with a strong over-religious view.

4) you are too lazy to read the post.(you are only moved by the topic)

5) you find it hard to read and understand the post.

CrimeWhy is Yahoo no longer consider as a crime? by matri6(op):
the rate at which yahoo is pervading through every fibre of our society today is quite alarming.
go to every cities and the smallest villages, you will always see a handful of yahoo boys.
...
though it has benefited those who indulge in it but, it is psychologically affecting those who tends to uphold dignity...the psychological effect as it is fondly called OPPRESSION.
....
the country is bleeding. poverty is busy crushing and frustrating the life of youths from humble background in a merciless manner.
as for the dude born from a poor background , no one care for him apart from his poor parents.
government doesn't care!
no good job. nothing nothing!
youths are finding ways to break free from shackle of poverty.
and this what gives birth to the influence of yahoo in our society.
....
but no! the youth aren't lazy. it's the system that doesn't work in favour of the youths from poor background.
no reasonable job to salvage them from poverty except those slavery labor work.
and in nigeria there is no helping culture. every dude for himself.

government? no help!
banks? no help!
family? no help!
friends? no help!
....
i often heard people say go learn online skill. but hardly do they know that most of the youths are so poor that they cant afford 3 square meal per day not to talk of acquiring a laptop, and then pay for online course and all that. Go to our campuses and witness this...and mind you not everyone is tech savvy.
Though I'm not in anyway supporting laziness but being factual.
...
and the funniest part is that it has becomes a norms in the society.
celebrity talks about it as norm.
musicans sing a praise of it.
comedians make a joke of it.
parents applauds their rich yahoo children.
religious leaders pray for and bless the yahoo guys who bring them gift.
..
the society is passing a message across and it's now getting clearer.
...

And as we've all known the society has made it legal that there is no punishable act for it.

so the yahoo boys can easily flaunt their riches without no questioning or consequences.
even the EFCC 'only' go after the biggest boys of which they can obtain some tangible substance.
...
i couldn't explain the feeling you have seeing your juniors and mates who even refuse to further their education building houses, buying luxurious cars and exotic phone. sincerely, you feel worthless and miserable.
my so called mates that indulge in it find it hard to relate with me cos of their new status.
...
in most communities the upright guys are seen as a persona non grata. the wealthy young youth are being praised.
...
i'm still a 200l undergraduate though. but who that epp in a decayed society?
even on campus nobody tends to celebrate academic excellence again.yahoo has taken that order.
...
it is now dawn on me, seeming that schooling is a waste of time.
afterall, our senior colleagues are out there jobless. then of course we knw our fate.

Even within the campus, I know the challenges poor upright guys face. Sometimes you go to lectures on empty stomach. Many are still at the mercy of the school cos they're yet to pay their fees.

Guys from humble background will relate better.
...

To get my message clearer. I'm in no way talking about the guys that are into rituals which they deceitfully called yahoo plus. My topic of discussion has nothing to do with yahoo plus. To be succinct.
.....
Now we the so called upright guys are experiencing the bandwagon effect.

We are considering the second though every minutes.

We want to do it not just to feel among but because we want to wave a goodbye to poverty. Then after we've made it, we will stop it. Thereafter we will come back to our normal state of upright guys.
....

Well I'm writing from my own philosophical point of view. I'm neither supporting or opposing the practice. I'm neutral.

....
What is your view on this?
Or what is your own advice for the poor upright dude there considering a second thought?
