It drives Well on over half tank. The gauge at the dash isn't faulty. I had to take it to the mechanic who washed the fuel pump n changed the plugs (he insisted on the plugs been changed). There was a bit of improvement till the tank went around the 1/4 level and the revv went hard. Had to do a full tank and its been driving fine.

I will wash the tank this weekend. I'd Like to do that and get a guage. Can I get only the guage without the fuel bump? Any idea the cost? Or the cost of a new tank? If getting a new tank do I need to get new bump and guage?

I won't rule out the faulty gauge completely, but the third time it happened, I had way more gas as displayed by the indicator than the previous times. I'd do a full tank in the morning. Thanks for your contribution.

Then surprisingly smart guy, it looks like the engine is weak..let a good mechanic or spare part dealer(some of them like mine are very knowledgeable) observe it.Does it emits smoke when u start up the engine? i dnt mean vapour.

Whats MAF and body actuator. Where are they located in a w203. How do I check the rpm?

Any idea for the cost of a cat for my w203? Noticed its been removed. Can I get just the cat or a complete exhaust.

You are right. I only found out recently after a refill about 3/4weeks ago. Is there any harm in letting out the refrigerant and do a refill?

Thanks for the links, really helpful. I ordered an OBD2 bluetooth adapter which I intend using with Torque, hopefully, I can use it to clear the error and refil the gas.

The alternator checked out fine. Had to refill the refrigerant for the AC too, and was shocked to see "Battery Under Voltage, Turn consumers off" warning. This was when AUTO button of the air con is pressed. Had to manually adjust the fan speed and everything seems to work out just fine.

I'd like to know what the normal operating temperature for this car is, cos it runs at 98^F with out the air con and around 120^F with the Air con.

Need to get coolant as well, any suggestions on the best brand/preferred available in Abuja?

Trac: Take it to your mechanic and request a P.P.I (post-purchase-inspection). A competent mechanic will do the job for you. The best replacement for the alternator is the one made by Mercedes Benz. It should have the star logo on it.

Thanks, I'd do that this weekend. It ought to be delivered to me today. Was told about the alternator which was replaced in Lagos. Id have it checked out if it has the star sign. Anything else to look out for?

After ready every single post on this thread, I finally concluded my purchase of a c240, 2003 model.

I'd like to know what I should expect, when to do my first service etc.
