This disclosure comes amid ongoing disputes between Damina and Eneche, as Damina has claimed to have repented from his past involvement in what he describes as fleecing unsuspecting church members through prosperity gospel. Damina has asserted that he played a pivotal role in ordaining and mentoring Eneche, claims that Eneche has firmly rejected in his sermons. Damina, who critiques prosperity gospel and purported miracles, has become a polarizing figure, with considerable debate among Nigerian preachers regarding his influence and teachings. Documents Reveal Abel Damina as Trustee of Paul Eneche's Dunamis Church Recent documents certified by Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in August 2024 provide new insights into the organizational history of Paul Eneche's Dunamis Church. The documents confirm that Pastor Abel Damina, known for his controversial stance against tithing and prosperity gospel, served as one of the church's original trustees in 1997. The documents, disclosed by Nation Scoops—a prominent Christian blog with over 200,000 Facebook followers—show that Pastor Damina was one of three initial trustees of Dunamis Church, alongside Pastor Paul Eneche and his wife, Becky. This revelation aligns with the Nigerian practice of registering churches and other non-profit religious entities as Incorporated Trustees, which necessitates public disclosure of trustee names in national newspapers. Had Dunamis Church been registered as a business entity, Pastor Damina’s role would likely be akin to that of a shareholder and co-founder, given his early involvement. AllenSpencer:I have already stated that Prohibition of phones does not influence their ranking. Also, there's nothing an alumni of Covenant University has achieved that graduates from other Nigerian Universities haven't. |
AllenSpencer:A school environment is a simpler example of the larger society and history has proven that one of the foremost things abusers do is to disconnect their victims from the outside world or closely monitor their communication with others. Think of why the Supreme Leader of North Korea banned phones in the country. The major reason they're denied phones is because of their authoritarian founder and totalitarian board. The students are disconnected from any support system outside the environment. For example, If a lecturer slaps a student, there would be no recording. Students will also be oblivious of what is going on in other schools and would not be emboldened to ask for better welfare. If students were allowed to use phones, we'd know the true status of the mass poisoning that has been reported. However, since there are no phones, any report the school management issues to the public is final- exactly what North Korea would do. Dictatorship should not be supported. That is why we're lending out our voices to the students who deserve better. |
AllenSpencer:Covenant University is ranked higher than other universities because it is well funded. It has a conducive learning environment and world class facilities to support learning. Of course, the source of funding is an open secret. Whether students are allowed to use mobile phones or not does not improve their status. It only paints them like an extreme institution with the potential of producing extremists. |
