prosper00:You have sent me a PM. I will respond to you. |
DaBullIT:100pcs cost $4.64. |
DaBullIT:The answer to your question is research! research!! research!!! You can be a mini-importer with even less than N5000! True? False? You decide! Let me choose a product to highlight this... Product: Magic Eraser Foam Quantity: 100pcs Price: $4.64 * N230 = N1,067.20 Shipping Fee: N1,500 Total Cost: N2,567.20 The above product currently sells at N100 per piece and 100 pieces will sell for N10,000. There are countless products for every level... ... from the guy that just fired his employer. |
lordtriplee:I don't work for Dealdey, but as an ecommerce practitioner, I have to understand how different sites work. Most of the things displayed on Dealdey do not belong to them and are not necessarily in their warehouse before promoting them. So at the point where a customer orders and the actual seller is out of stock on that particular item, a chain for customer dissatisfaction is set in motion. How the situation is managed is critical. |
Beehandz:If you agree that the issue between you and Dealdey is a breach of contract, why then do you blatantly label them a fraud? Surely there is a difference between the two. Dealdey may be very wrong in treating a valued customer this way, but two wrongs do not make a right. |
In the last couple of weeks, there have been multiple threads castigating various online platforms; from Jumia to Konga and now Dealdey, even though many do not understand how they operate. There are better ways of dealing with issues than coming online to deride companies that are trying to make the best happen despite the infrastructural challenges in Nigeria. It is better to exhaust all avenues of dispute resolution before labelling reputable companies scammers and other names. For all we know, the actual seller of the item may be out of stock on it. When they succeed in solving your issues, you will be unable to repair the damage you have caused. Let's us also remember that they employ tens of thousands of people directly and indirectly. |
The greatest challenge of most online merchants is logistics, that is the order delivery end of it. The big three (Jumia, Konga and Dealdey) process thousands of orders daily and to deliver these orders, an army of dispatch riders and drivers is required. A lot of experimentation is going on right now and even NIPOST is pitching in. Ecommerce is the next big thing in Nigeria. |

400billionman:You are right that I do importation. .. but not exactly mini... and not the only iron in my fire. |
TheAlchemist:Currently have 4 staff and still counting. Will be in the market for more staff shortly. |
onatisi:I disagree with you dear. Every business buys and sells something, whether it's a service or product. Banks, insurance companies, discount houses all sell something. Dangote, Nestle, Facebook, Twitter, Apple, Samsung etc, all sell something. Find something you can sell and throw everything at it! |
Dollarboom:On point! |
TruthisOut:I actually laughed when I read this!!! |
gatiano:The business is all set. I actually delayed my exit because I was watching the political situation in the country. No trust issues as I have a more than competent manager in wifey, but why continue to run after rats when you have the elephant in sight? Lagos is not an 8am-5pm for most people. For me, it's currently like 5am-10pm. Get home almost drained after battling traffic for hours. |
choiceman:Amen. |
Kachisbarbie:Wifey is a qualified business administrator and has successfully grown the business so far. But the potential in a place like Lagos is huge. We are taking the business to the next level. |
mcfynest:Left IBPLC before it was sold to Access. My best career move. |
HiGod:Word! You cannot be richer than your employer, neither do you become wealthy earning a salary. |
ebekuedike:As much as is possible, dont resign without giving sufficient notice. Give the notice, train a successor if you have not and then leave gracefully. Why? You need to constantly build your network. Those you have worked with are key contacts you should preserve. Don't burn your bridges or the ladders you used on your way up. |
vickylinco:Capital is available. You just need to know where and how to find it and then build it. |
Spells:I have spent enough time building another man's dream. It's Time to Build mine... while there is still strength in my bones. |
toyeoye:Beautiful! |
KingTom:Pardon me, but that's one of the worst advices you can give to a salary earner with an entrepreneurial spirit! #Key fact Salary is never enough! Nobody gets genuinely wealthy just earning z salary The point where you retire is when you are weakest. You have given your best years to build another's dream and you want to start building yours when you are 50? Many bankers before me have fallen into this trap only to realise too late. |
Velocitron:Best way I can describe it is Solutions Engineering |
chronique:Thank you... I appreciate it |
publicenemy:No millions are laying sterile in any bank account generating no income. All that is mine and more are invested in my business. I put my money where my mouth is. |
bigfrancis21:Thanks... however on the contrary, bad bosses contributed immensely to starting my Plan B. They pushed me to the wall until it dawned on me that this was not my place and that took me back to the drawing board. It's not within your power to determine how people will treat you. What's within your power is how you react. |
Adesiji77:The process is somewhat longwinded. Hope I find myself able to communicate it coherently. Modified* I woke up this morning to post some tidbits and I find the thread is on the FrontPage and already 4-page long. Most of what I say may be lost in the mix so I will respond to some comments and probably open another thread to discuss some details |
It took me 8yrs to get here. Recruited by then Intercontinental Bank straight from NYSC Camp Ede, Osun State, my story has been one of good progression over the years. Today am a Middle Mgt staff taking home almost half a million naira in monthly benefits, yet it is time to type that letter and sign myself into entrepreneurial freedom!!! The above is not written to brag, but to maybe motivate others who may be in my shoes... having great entrepreneurial skills yet fearful of what lies on the other side. I have tasted both worlds and I choose to fly. Let me mention however that quitting this job did not happen overnight, but is rather the result of a journey embarked upon over the last one year: a journey to Build a plan B. Today, that Plan B is the only Plan, raking in better revenues than the initial Plan A, yet am barely scratching the surface. The feeling is indescribable as I wait for Monday... for on that day I will be giving my current employer the mandatory 30 days notice. In the coming days, I look forward empowering others to do exactly what I am doing now so that together we can contribute to rebuilding Nigeria |
He needs to have been out of job for at least 4months before he can be paid the 25%. He should go to any of their offices to kickstart the process. |
I appreciate all the responses. Job awarded to webzyweb |
