It is no news that about 90% of the houses in Ado Ekiti are old with bad structures. Especially those God forsaken houses around Odo-Ado, Fajuyi, omisanjana and some other terrible places.


The first time I visited Akungba I was shocked to why a sane parent will send her kids to a school with such distasteful environment. I can't even let me dog live around that area (Though there are some new places with standards)

Its a quasi-lexicon defined by a known or general fact compared to the specific or desired or accomplished part...you make comparisons against the world while highlighting what the person has better or best for ONLY you.

for you to have made the above highlighted statement, is a confession of your gullible naivety, not to mention your overt lack of cognisance of the the emotional depredation and inner workings of scammers, especially of Nigerian extraction. many of them have been busted in using sob story such as: I'm a helpless orphan who is about to be kicked out of the exam hall for inability to pay, or help 7 yrs old mercy who is in dire need of fund for heart transplant.
Most time, is either a hoax or a legitimate claim that they highjack for venal gratification. that's why i only contribute to a verified claim, like stories on AIT cooperate social responsibility.

Conversely; let's pretend he's legit. why would an able body man use a thing as obscene as suicide, as a tool for financial solicitation like he has done. that in itself is morally depraved, and should not be endorsed with pecuniary goodwill. there are loads of people doing not so desirable job to subsist, and they're not fools. as they say; there's dignity in labour and he should embrace one, instead of constituting emotional nuisance on cyber space.
If there's anybody who have got incontrovertible claim to suicide on financial basis, then I'm the one: I started farming and doing menial jobs at 9yrs of age, to sponsor my education and that of my siblings, despite having a living father who is not poor and refused to meet up to his responsibility and other things i would like to remain private. now, I'm where I'm, not because i pandered to the easy urge of self-pity, or guilt trip people emotionally for financial solicitation, but because of my hard work, resilience and defiance to my circumstantial limitations.


Finally: If you feel obliged by your moral scruple to send him money, then go ahead and save us the bickering, but don't pretend or claim it's prudence or in your own word "smartness." It is simply a visceral indulgence to a palpable emotional and financial fraud.

this is a very funny thread.

when i saw that guy's post on the Chelsea thread, the precognitive faculty in me, told me that's a badly orchestrated scam, but i was reticent in voicing my misgivings, cos i know how theatrically emotional Nigerians can be, and how easily I would be branded crass and a wicked soul.

First off: why would the guy choose that Chelsea thread that he knows got very high traffic, to yelp about suicide?
Secondly: why will a person who is made up in committing suicide, bring it to public notice the way he did. that is reverse psychology of emotional blackmail on people conscience.

Thirdly; why use suicide as leverage for financial solicitation, because that's exactly what he has done..
