I sincerely rep UNAAB. Not too many ppl knew how good the school is, they get carried away by it being an Agricultural school. One of the few public schools in Nigeria with zero tolerance for cultism.

About Webometrics:
Since 2004, the Ranking Web (or Webometrics Ranking) is published twice a year (data is collected during the first weeks of January and July for being public at the end of both months), covering more than 20,000 Higher Education Institutions worldwide. We intend to motivate both institutions and scholars to have a web presence that reflect accurately their activities. If the web performance of an institution is below the expected position according to their academic excellence, university authorities should reconsider their web, open access and transparency policy, promoting substantial increases of the volume and quality of their electronic publications.

PoliticsRe: 2012 Ranking (from Richest To Poorest) For Gross Domestic Product Based On PPP by mayorme(op): 4:08pm On Feb 26, 2013
Equitorial guinea, I know nothing about but that doesn't take out the fact that there are other smaller African countries out there who their citizens live better than an average Nigerian. Just because we are Nigerians doesn't give us the chance of being on top of other smaller nations in Africa. There are two standard methods of measuring the wealth of countries and how rich or poor its inhabitants are. The measure most often used is Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which represents the size of a country’s economy. A refinement of this is per-capita GDP, which is a measure of the average welfare and affluence, or poverty, of residents of a country. However, GDP and per-capita GDP are less useful when comparing economies across national boundaries – which one must do to determine the richest or poorest countries in the world – because GDP is expressed in a country’s local currency.

PoliticsAmosun, Obasanjo Harp On Peace In Egbaland**as Obas Sink Differences by mayorme(op): 7:59am On Jan 02, 2013
30 Dec, 2012

Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo have called for enduring unity among the Egbas in order to foster the development of the race and Ogun State in general.
The duo made the call yesterday at the Government House, Oke Igbein, Abeokuta at the meeting of the Special Committee on the Unity among the Four sectional Obas in Egbaland.
Amosun stated that he only created a platform for ventilation of misgivings in order to achieve unity.
"We need unity in order to prosper more. Our forebears were very united, and they did very well. This is the right time to unite in order to nurture development of the race and entire state."
He recalled that Egba was the cradle of civilization and many of its people had attained preeminent positions in the country.
"So our unity and speaking with one voice will only impact positively on the race, Ogun and Nigeria," he said.
Speaking in the same vein, ex-President Obasanjo, another prominent Egba son, explained that "Governor Amosun is the guarantor of the peace being achieved today. We can\'t thank him enough.
Wherever human beings are, there will be frictions. It's been a tortuous road to today, we can see a divine hand in this."
The communique read to newsmen at the end of the meeting by Oba Adedotun Gbadebo stated that "After achieving what the Committee regarded as reconciliation on all issues that have been causing rancour and dissatisfaction among the Obas, the Obas thereby agreed to sink all their differences and henceforth work together in harmony."
The Committee Members are Chiefs Olusegun Obasanjo, Earnest Shonekan, former Head of Interim National Government, and Olatunde Abudu, the Maiyegun of Egbaland.
The paramount Egba Monarchs are Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo; Osile of Oke Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho; Agura of Gbagura, Oba Halidu Olaloko; and Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu.
The Deputy Governor of Central Bank, Mr Tunde Lemo and industrialist, Dr Femi Majekodunmi, attended the parley.

I remember the first week i landed in Chicago, then i dont know anything abt their currency, especially coins. I went to a grocery store, bought something of abt $20.25, gave d cashier $50 bill, and he asked if i have a quarter so he can gimme $30 change. I remembered i had some coins in my pocket that i dont even know their worth, and i just packed a load of coins and threw it on the cashier's table to pick which he needs, I remembered he only picked one coin and gave me back my loads, and the other guy behind me was just laughing at the scene. Since then, it never happened again .

PoliticsObama Signs Bill To Grant Nigerian Student U.S. Permanent Residency by mayorme(op): 7:33pm On Dec 29, 2012
CNN) -- A Nigerian immigrant's dream came true when President Barack Obama signed into law a rare private bill granting him permanent residency in the Unites States.
Victor Chukwueke, who lives in Michigan on an expired visa, came to the United States 11 years ago to undergo treatment for massive face tumors.
He graduated from a university in the state, and plans to attend an Ohio medical school that requires him to have permanent residency, also known as a green card.
In a rare act, the United States Congress passed a private bill this month granting him permanent residency. Obama signed the bill Friday.
Private bills -- which only apply to one person and mostly focus on immigration -- are rarely approved. His is the only one to pass in Congress in two years.
"I was overwhelmed with joy; it was nothing less than a miracle," the 26-year-old says. "Only in this country can so many miraculous and wonderful things happen to someone like me."

Victor Chukwueke attends his graduation at Wayne State University, where he served as commencement speaker.
Only in this country can so many miraculous and wonderful things happen to someone like me
Victor Chukwueke
Before coming to the United States at age 15, Chukwueke lived in the southeastern Nigeria town of Ovim.
He suffers from neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes massive life-threatening tumors on his face.
Treated as an outcast because of his deformed face, he was depressed and humiliated, he says. His family abandoned him at an orphanage after taking him to the nation's best facilities for treatment.
"I went to a large teaching hospital in Nigeria and the doctor touched my face and said there was nothing they could do," he says. " I cried and begged him to do something. I was so tired of the humiliation."
Nuns from the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy rescued him from the orphanage in 2001 and arranged for a Michigan doctor to perform surgery on him.
He considers himself lucky to have developed the tumors.
"Without them, I would not have met the nun, left Nigeria, arrived in the U.S. and had the miracle to attend medical school," he says.
He lives with the nuns in Oak Park, Michigan. They have cared for him since he came to the U.S., where he has undergone seven surgeries, including one that left him blind in the right eye.
Despite the obstacles, he remains committed to getting an education.
He finished his GED -- the equivalent of a high school education -- while undergoing treatment and enrolled at a community college.
A benefactor helped him attend Wayne State University, where he graduated last year with a bachelor's in biochemistry and chemical biology. He had a 3.82 GPA and gave the university's commencement speech.
"Should I call myself a victim, or should I press forward to my dreams?" he asked during the speech amid thunderous applause.
Soon after his graduation, the University of Toledo in Ohio admitted him to medical school. The only hurdle: The program requires him to have permanent residency status.
With Obama's signature, his wish has come true.
"My own personal struggles to receive treatment have motivated and encouraged me to pursue a medical career ... to alleviate the pain and suffering of others," he says. "A medical career will allow me many gratifying years of making a difference in the health and lives of others."
Chukwueke's journey to get legalized has seen many strangers rally to his help.
Inspired by his story, Sen. Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat, sponsored the bill, S. 285. The measure passed the Senate in the summer and the House this week.
Attorney Thomas K. Ragland took his case pro bono.
"Victor's story is remarkable," says Ragland, who is based in Washington D.C. "Here is this kid who comes from Nigeria, he was taunted and teased for his diseases, and he comes to this country and excels, despite so many surgeries. It is a testament of not letting anything get in the way."
The number of illegal immigrants in the United States was estimated at 11.5 million last year.
Following the signature, the State Department will reduce by one the number of immigrant visas available to Nigerians.

Pay your bills people! Mary J. Blige and her husband Kendu Isaacs were hit with a lawsuit for defaulting on $2.2 million bank loan.
According to court documents filed in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, which was obtained by Reuters, Signature Bank is aiming to recover the original loan amount plus $58,000 in interest from the 41-year-old singer.
The suit stems from an advance the Grammy-winning singer took out in October 2011 and allegedly failed to pay back by the agreed-upon deadline of July 2012.
