It all depends on the profile of other candidates from your state of origin, it is a state thing! while 50% might be a top ranking score in state A, It could as well be a disaster in state B! I was astonished when a particular candidate was told by one of the panellist in a particular centre that he is number 57 on the log, the young man almost collapsed when he had that, but was relieved when the second interviewer said; we mean to say 57th nationally, but 2nd in your home (Origin) state. So if the rumour of 3/4 slots per state for UK/GF, depending on the region of origin is anything to go by, it implies that some states scored higher to have placed the candidate on second position in his home state, while 57th nationally. So just pray for your state to have candidates with at least average profile. Wishing you divine success as you expect the shocking news!

Hmm. It's only PTDF that can give you a perfect answer though....

I just feel at the end of everything it is not just the pubs or the awards that really matter(cos some persons have them but they had a "not so good" interview) but what matters is whether you are happy or not after seeing the final list. And it very much depends on the level of competition in your state, maybe your state is one of those highly competitive ones( just like someone earlier mentioned that a state had 16 applicants, last year with very strong profiles, which gave ptdf issues on doing the final selection).

Well, I do believe for you to have made it to the interview stage, you definitely have one thing or the other( be it class of degree or even O level) that must have made you stand out.....

And las las ehn, don't bother yourself just believe in God.
Thanks Bro. May God help us all

You said and i quote"we recieved invite for the test on 26 June and it was published in the site on 4th July". Going by what you said, how come the results were published on 20th June? Did you get what I mean? It means the results were published even before you receive your invite. It doesn't add up!
Chai.... i was just giving you example with this years invite. We recieved email on 26 june and and it was published on 4th july. How many days? I am telling you that it takes time before publishing the news and contacting candidates.

Thanks for the info. However, it's not in PTDF's tradition to release results on Fridays. If you check the last two scholarship results carefully, you will find out that both were released on Mondays.
2014/2015 scholarship results were released on Monday, 14th July 2014
2016/2017 scholarship results were released on Monday, 20th June, 2016.
Yes it was on 10th. Manager is wrong. I think he relies on what he saw on their website. What he doesnt know is that it takes time before they update a news in their site.

Northerners out performing southerners in PTDF.

I am very disappointed in you @Dmainman, I always thought you had the capacity clear, coherent and unbigoted thinking but it appears I am wrong. Many Nigerians from the south erroneously believe that Northerners are uneducated, this is far from reality. If you have travelled around Nigeria and have interacted with graduates from the North and South, you will realize that talent and academic potential is spread across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Being a northerner does not make one dull and being a southerner does not make one sharp. Yes, there have been northerners who got the PTDF Scholarship without merit but there are also southerners who got the same PTDF scholarship without merit. I don't know why Pressid was cancelled but I believe if there was true merit in the process almost 50% of the 102 recipients would be northerners. If your position is that there was merit in the Pressid process then you should also agree that there was merit in the recent DSS recruitment exercise that yielded 51 recruits for Katsina and 5 for Akwa Ibom. The reality of Nigeria is that every ethnic group in Nigeria tries to outdo the other when someone from their group occupy any office whether in public or private sector. If a Hausa man occupies an office most of the recruits for that office would be Hausa, same thing happens if an Igbo man occupies the office. Every Nigerian is marganilized and no Nigerian is marginalized. This is the reason for over 50 years of Royal Dutch Shell's operations in Nigeria no northerner has made director or even manager. It is the reason why for over 50 years the Igbo produced a Chief of Army Staff just once.

If we want to build a new and better Nigeria, we must move away from painting one group as culprit in our collective failure. We must admit how we have wrong one another and collectively resolved to change our ways.
Wow... case closed.

There is nothing truthful about what you said. Nothing but distortion of facts and misrepresentation. Your hatred will never allow you to see something good in others. You must be stupid to think that no first class from the Entire North that qualifies for the Pressid.

@DmainMan you are very stupid! what do you mean? You mean in the north they don't have first class students? Illiterate!

Let me tell you that real first class students in Nigeria are those produced by Northern universities because there is no much nepotism and corruption in their academic system. This is contrary to what happens in most southern universities where you can pay for or negotiate grades.

Ask any of your friend who studied in the north the battle behind awarding first class. It seems to me that you such people from south that feel no northerner is educated. You need to widen your horizon!
I totally agree with you. I really dont know what this thread is turning into. It was just yesterday one baby factory guy came here and started abusing Hausa/Fulani and blaming them for the delay and here is DmainMan dropping rubbish who i thought was not in anyway a Tribal jingoist, but i was wrong. To say 70% of southern graduate are fake is an understatement. DmainMan should confine himself to giving scholarly advice if not he will be dealt with squarely too.

Bro. Forget all this permutation or combination. What you need now is to check if u made the list.

@all. Sorry dat my info that d list will b out last upper week was incorrect. I got that info from a PTDF staff that it will be released because it was ready.

And here we go again, last week d list did not show too. Guess something is wrong somewhere and hope it would be resolved for our favour perhaps it could b because LSS and OSS stuff increase and decrease adjustments.

Thank you DmainMan for the update.
To Manager and Co who were barking like mad dogs saying that they 've been disappointed this post goes to you. Only God has the final say in this process. Just because the list wasnt released on friday some people started calling us names that we are liars etc. I hope everyone gets what he deserves. Thank you.
