seunowa: In an interview with DCL English, Hajiya Naja'atu Muhammad, the Deputy National Chairman (North-West) of ADC, stated that she believes Atiku Abubakar will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Naja'atu said Peter Obi won't win some of the states in he won in the 2023 presidential election. She said she strongly believes Obi will lose Lagos State. She also said Obi will lose many votes in the south-south region due to the political influence of former Governor Nyesom Wike.
Najaatu added that Obi won't gain a lot votes in southeast states because of the APC governors there and he won't win significant votes in the North.
In Najaatu's words: "Peter Obi will lose a lot of the places that he got in the last election such as Lagos. There are so many places he cannot win because even if you look at the south-south Wike is there to checkmate him and in the southeast you have some very strong APC governors that will checkmate his votes" My people, what this fellow meant by that word "checkmate" is wike will rig the election for tinubu/APC in SS. |
Politics › Re: Join Military - Chief Of Army Staff Shaibu Begs South East Youths by Mbanda(m): 12:00am On Jul 10*. Modified: 11:57am On Jul 10 |
Masterstroke4: The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has pleaded with the leaders, parents, guardians, and elders of South East zone to encourage young men and women in the region to join the military.
He said for some time now, recruitment quota from the zone in the Nigerian Army has not been fully utilised.
Shaibu stated this during the passing out parade of 90 Regular Recruits at the Nigerian Army Recruits Training in Amasiri -Edda, Afikpo and Edda Local Government areas of Ebonyi State. A total of 2,989 newly recruited soldiers passed out of the training depot.
The Amasiri-Edda military training depot was established by the Federal Government in November, last year, for the South East zone.
Shaibu, speaking during the passing out parade, lamented low enrollment of the South East in the military, saying it should not be allowed to continue.
He described the military as not just a career, but an honorable endeavour of patriotism, leadership, and national contribution, and implored the zone to see the newly established military training depot as their own by joining the military.
“We ask for continual support as the military service is very demanding. Please stand by them, encourage them, and pray for them. To our host, Ndigbo, I wish to humbly request that you encourage your youth to take their rightful place in the defence of our fatherland. For some time now, the recruitment quota from this zone has not been fully utilised. This should not continue. Military service is not just a career, but an honorable endeavour of patriotism, leadership, and national contribution.
“I, therefore, urge community leaders, parents, guardians, and elders in the southeast zone to encourage our young men and women to see this depot as their own and step forward to serve. Once again, I convey our proud and profound appreciation to everyone present at this occasion. God bless the Nigerian Army”, he said.
He told the newly trained soldiers that the training they have received was intended to prepare them for the tasks ahead and serve as a basis for their future training.
Lt. Gen. Shaibu opined that the security challenges confronting the nation, and Africa has continued to evolve in complexity and intensity.
“Today, terrorism, insurgency, banditry, separatist violence, transnational organised crime, cyber threats, and the proliferation of small arms and light weapons have combined to create an unprecedented challenge to peace and stability across Africa.
“It is, therefore, imperative that you newly trained soldiers understand from the onset that the defence of Nigeria requires sacrifice and unwavering commitment to duty”.
He cautioned the new soldiers to strictly observe the emphasis of Nigeria’s social media policy, and threatened to sanction erring ones.
“A growing trend of indiscretion on social media has had serious consequences for airing personnel. The unauthorised posting of operational information, images of military activities, sensitive locations, as well as the dissemination of unverified and misleading content constitute a great and serious breach of external regulations.
“Let me be clear, violations of social media policy can and will result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from service where necessary.
The implications of such misconduct are far-reaching. For the individual soldiers, it represents a loss of career, honour, and livelihood. For the Army, it undermines discipline, operational security, morale, and institutional credibility.
“For the nation, it represents a waste of substantial public investment in your training. You must, therefore, exercise the highest level of restraint, maturity, and responsibility as you navigate the social media space”, he stated.
Governor Francis Nwifuru, in his speech, assured the leadership of the Nigerian Army that Ebonyi State will continue to remain a dependable and committed partner.
“We shall continue to provide a peaceful and conducive environment for training and military operations while promoting harmonious coexistence between the military and our communities. The donation of land was only the beginning of a long-term partnership founded on mutual respect and our shared aspiration for a safer Ebonyi State and a stronger Nigeria.
“When the idea of establishing this Depot on Ebonyi soil was conceived, we wholeheartedly embraced it because we recognised its strategic importance to our nation and its immense benefits to our people”, he said. Why not beg SE youths to be president, senate president, NNPC director, inspector general of police, chief of army staff, defence minister and other juicy positions. Why do you seriously need SE youths to join Korovo? |

adenigga: The Presidency has said that fixing poverty in Nigeria is certainly the responsibility of the local governments because they are the closest to the people.
Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Economic Affairs (Office of the Vice President), Tofe Fasua, said this in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He said that was the reason president Bola Tinubu is advocating for local government autonomy.
“Fixing poverty is certainly a local government’s thing because local governments are the closest to the people.
“So the solution to poverty in Nigeria is actually at the local government level, and that’s the reason the President has advocated for local government autonomy, and has also ensured that the states are a lot more powerful now in terms of funding.
“I mentioned to you the fact that those days where civil servants will be owed 18 months, 12 months, six months, are gone. Pensioners are getting their money a lot, and I think that’s where it matters.
“In 1999, I used to go to many local governments in Lagos and I saw how local governments were working then.
“A lot of people were coming to the local government. The people who were really down financially, would go to the local government chairman on a daily basis and they were being settled,” he said.

If you are reading this with an open mind, I implore to take a second to imagine that Femi Gbajabiamila, the prime suspect behind the fictitious multi-billion naira agency was an igbo man, imagine what would've happened to him? Imagine the national uproar and massive protests that would've engulfed the nation with Nigerians especially those from the south western region of the country taken up sticks in anger against him. Imagine how zealous the EFCC, DSS, ICPC and other security agencies would be in wisking him away from the presidential villa without court order or arrest warrant, imagine what the APC, PDP, ADC, Atiku, and other notable political figures including Tinubu would be saying now, the national outry would be loud, all radio speakers will be tuned up, calling for his head to be hanged in the public square without delay and without trial.
If you take a moment to ponder and articulate the outcome that Gbajabiamila who continues to enjoy presidential privileges would've face over this PFIPC monumental scandal if he was an igbo man or had an igbo name then you will understand how dangerous "One Nigeria" is and why it is an irredeemable mess. You will understand how hopelessly tribalistic, hypocritical, unjust and brazenly biased many have overtime become over national issues. You will see how corruption, nepotism, tribalism, religious bigotry has eaten deep to understand that Nigeria can never get better as a nation....
For any man/woman who is igbo, north central or from the minority south south tribes, who is courageous to ponder this and are sensible to accept the bitter truth about the hopelessness of "One Nigeria", you will be doing yourself a great disservice by your continued corporation with an unjust corrupt system carefully designed against you. If Nigeria was a real country then the national discuss should've be centered on not just Femi Gbaja's complicity but on Tinubu's impeachment and removal over glaring abuse of office..... If you are in Nigeria and are still sane, you will do yourself and your future generations a big favor of a better future by joining the call for a referendum towards a total dissolution or total decentralization of "One Nigeria"......

CharlesCNG: So because Nigeria has insecurity, we should stop building roads? Stop ports? Stop rail? Stop power projects? Stop schools? Stop hospitals? Stop housing? Stop everything until insecurity disappears completely?
That is not policy. That is opposition claptrap wearing a safety helmet.
A serious government must fight insecurity and still build infrastructure. The two are not enemies.
In fact, roads can even help security: faster troop movement, quicker emergency response, better access to remote communities, improved trade, more jobs, and less isolation for criminal gangs to exploit.
The logic is like saying a man with malaria should stop eating, stop bathing, stop going to work, stop paying school fees and stop repairing his leaking roof until the malaria disappears.
No sensible person lives like that.
You treat the malaria while life continues.
Nigeria must address insecurity aggressively, yes. But development cannot enter coma because criminals exist.
A country is not governed by pressing pause on everything until one problem is solved. What I mean is that, nobody will ply a bandit infested road. Do you know that wealthy and average Nigerians now prefer flight than travelling by road. I've heard so many Nigerians saying that, flight money is cheaper and better than paying ransom money to bandits. Judging by this, of what use is our roads? |

DomPerignon: Ikun (Cross River State) — female survivor's testimony (interviewed by Atu Charles, 1994) Ikun initially had friendly relations with Biafran troops stationed there. As some Ikun men came under suspicion of collaborating with Nigerian forces, this turned into arrests, looting, and rape across Ikun communities. In one incident, Biafran soldiers reportedly took a group of Ikun men to neighboring Ohafia for a supposed meeting and never returned them. Soldiers then came back and rounded up other men in the area and shot them. The informant — who lost her four-day-old son and her grandmother in the violence — suspected the neighboring Ohafia community had a hand in targeting her people, since Ohafia residents ended up sharing Ikun fishing ponds, forests, and farmland after the survivors fled. |

DomPerignon: Dr. B.J. Ikpeme (retired Senior Medical Officer, testimony given at the Kampala peace talks) Ikpeme argued Biafran leadership responded to minority self-determination demands by deciding to either force minorities into the new republic or eliminate resistance, dispatching soldiers to suppress dissent. He was personally detained in what he called a "concentration camp," later moved to a cell where he was given urine when he asked for water. He documented specific locality-level incidents: roughly 400 people taken from Asang town (Enyong) to an unknown destination; the town of Attan Onoyon burned with residents killed; villagers shot in Ikot Ekpenyong, Ikot Okpot, and Idoro (Akwa-Ibom area). He also alleged that when Nigerian troops landed in Calabar in October 1967, about 169 detained civilians were lined up and shot by Biafran soldiers before the handover. |

DomPerignon: Rivers State / Kalabari deportations When Rivers-area troops (predominantly Kalabari) helped federal forces retake villages on the New Calabar and Sombriero Rivers in February 1968, Biafran authorities responded by removing residents from Kalabari towns like Bakana and "relocating" them to Igbo towns (Abiriba, Ozuitem, Owerri, Umuahia) never to be seen again.

DomPerignon: BOFF / Bende Special Operations — informant S.B.A. Atuloma and Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe (1990 interviews) BOFF, formed by Bende's civil defense structure, was tasked with suppressing "the enemy" but in practice targeted minorities in Cross River and Akwa-Ibom on sabotage suspicions. General Philip Effiong (himself minority-origin) is believed to have ordered the "combing" campaign after the unexplained death of Major Achibong, also a minority officer. The decapitation-for-ritual-purposes claim comes specifically from Mbakwe's 1990 interview, tied to the resurfacing of the precolonial "Old Bende" head-trophy warrior tradition.

DomPerignon: Following Gowon's decree that created states for the minority people, the majority Ibo population described it as "their darkest day".
Ojukwu will later ensure that the minorities never got their own state by dragging them into his rogue Biafra and then setting up the BOFF to suppress any resistance to their annexation.
Any sympathies that minorities had for the Ibo majority vanished after the atrocities of BOFF began to play out
A similar pattern ensued in the Midwest where sympathies were very high by the people towards the Ibo population reeling from the pogroms.
But a diagrammatical shift ensued when Biafran soldiers invaded and occupied the Midwest and continued the madness they were carrying out on minorities trapped in Biafra on the non Ibo people of the Midwest.

The rapes were so widespread during the brief occupation that a population of rape babies were conceived and given birth to.

🌐 🌐 🌐 I cannot provide direct excerpts, quotes, or paraphrased text from the chapter "The Nigerian Civil War of 1967 and the Stigmatisation of Children Born of Rape Victims in Edo State" by Adediran Daniel Ikuomola (2012), as the provided search context indicates it is subscription-only content behind a paywall and reproducing specific text would violate copyright restrictions.
However, based on the available metadata and abstract snippets, I can summarize the core arguments and scope of the work:
The book examines the Nigerian Civil War (1967–1970), specifically focusing on atrocities committed against ethnic communities in Edo State that were perceived as "saboteurs" by belligerent forces because they did not actively participate in the conflict. The primary focus is on rape as a weapon of war and the subsequent stigmatization of children born from these assaults.
Just as in the coastal minority enclaves trapped in Biafra, un reluctance by ethnic minorities in the Midwest to support their annexation by Biafran forces was enough reason to term them sabos and from there commit all manner of atrocities on the population.
The word "Sabo" was used sparingly to commit all manner of abominable crimes on hapless civilians.
Mass rape of young girls and women were so systematic that it saw to a pandemic of rape babies that were ostracized and openly rejected by their mothers people.
