AsomughaChuks02: Yesterday three IPOB sit at home enforcers were gunned down by gallant men of the Agunaechemba security services along the Nnewi-Okigwe highway in Nnewi as they were trying to force the now outlawed sit at home in Nnewi town. It is a major victory for the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration as he keeps Anambra state safe and secure.
PDPdestroyer: Later, they will deny they were not the ones behind the lobby in the US to designate Nigeria as a CPC. I wan see how you go wash your hands off this, you don price, you must collect
Who said IPOB are not involved? The are involved big time and that serves the Nigerian state right for treating Igbos as second hand citizens. Na people una dey call terrorist dey cause sleepless nights for una.
sailor2011: Even if he drops ballistics , he will still fail woefully...😁😁😁😁 Only obedients believe that everyone in the country hates PBAT and worship their 3rd class ineffectual bufoonnn
If una really know that majority of the citizens in the country loves PBAT let, agbadorians and their god (PBAT) support the E-transmission that is exactly what Nigerians wants this moment.
garykoeman: Electronic transmission or not Tinubu will still clear the whole 36states.
Even during the last Presidential election, result from southeast where the last to be released.
Opposition wasting their time.
Lol.. the people that are falsely pushing the narrative that, tinubu won the 2023 presidential election are the same people that doesn't want the senate to implement the E-transmission bill.
With this the world can now see that tinibu failed the 2023 election woefully.
Ukpaka: U.S. Judge Orders Immediate Release of Tinubu’s Criminal Records https://247ureports.com/2026/02/u-s-judge-orders-immediate-release-of-tinubus-criminal-records/ - WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a stinging rebuke of America’s top law enforcement agencies, a U.S. District Court Judge has issued a final ultimatum to the FBI and DEA, ordering the immediate and transparent release of investigative files related to Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The ruling, delivered on Monday afternoon, February 9, 2026, expressed deep judicial frustration with what the court described as “unreasonable delays” by the agencies in fulfilling a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The judge dismissed the agencies’ pleas for more time, mandating a strict, bi-weekly reporting schedule to ensure the public finally sees the documents.
9jatriot: How on earth did you arrive at Tinubu being afraid of a free and fair election?
You guys are just preparing an alibi to use for your impending loss. You are preparing something to hold on to because you know you guys neither have the popularity non the coverage to win an election anytime soon.
Okay cut the long story short and answer this simple question.
What hook is stopping "APC town hall meeting" (which is the senate) from passing the bill, that will enable the free and fair elections Nigerians are glamouring for?
Penguin2: We’ve been telling Tinubu supporters that the governors that are defecting to APC will not save Tinubu in 2027, but they swore that the governors are the alpha and omega in the states; and we said okay.
Now, we are asking for free and fair elections where every vote will count , and the people who have been bragging about having 30 governors are against it.
Why?
Why is Tinubu, APC and their supporters afraid of a free and fair election?
Because he knows that, voters outnumbered the governors, senators and house of representatives members.
Tinibu knows that the people are not with him this a fact even agbadorians cannot deny.
IkeOnyia: Activist indeed with the T-shirt that the protest organizers bought for him.
I am sure that after the protest, all those almajiris and their hajia will be gathered somewhere and given 2k for pure water and biscuit, Peter Obi and his goons already buying votes long before election year.
Na APC championed protest dem dey give protesters from 500 to 2k not, this one that Obi is involved.
Anybody you see in this protest came out of their own freewill.
Ofunaofu: Tinubu Has Done More For The Security Sector Than PDP Did In 16 Years – Presidency Replies ADC’s Abdullahi
The presidency has accused the spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, of attempting to misrepresent the facts about security in Nigeria.
The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, maintained that President Tinubu has done more within two years in office than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under which Abdullahi served as a Minister did in the sixteen years it was in power.
The claim was made in response to a statement by Abdullahi on Saturday, who wrote via his 𝕏 account that the rising waves of insecurity in some parts of the cuntry is a confirmation that Nigeria has no government.
“The festering insecurity and violent attacks in Kwara, Katsina and other parts of the country, and massacre of innocent Nigerians is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government,” he wrote.
However, in response, Olusegun accused the former Minister of being dishonest with his submission and attempting to misrepresent the facts with reverse psychology.
The presidential aide listed increased security spending, sustained military intervention, moves for fast-tracking the establishment of state police, and recruitment of more security agents as some of the efforts already deployed by the Tinubu administration since coming into office.
He added that, contrary to what Abdullahi wants the public to believe, the efforts are already yielding results, and while recent attacks in some parts of the country are totally condemnable, the post by Abdullahi is far from the truth.
Olusegun wrote: “While the recent attacks in some parts of the country are totally condemnable, it will be dishonest, though unsurprising coming from you, to compare the efforts of a President who has done more for the security sector in two years than the whole 16 years of your former party, the PDP.
“For record purposes, by building on the efforts of his predecessor, Late President Muhammadu Buhari, who degraded Boko Haram beyond recognition, President Tinubu has continued to take different approaches to solving our insecurity issues in contrast to the dormant, uninspiring and directionless days of your party which led to the tweet quoted by you.
“Below is a compilation of some of the efforts of President Tinubu-led administration on security over the past two and half years.
“Defense spending surged from N1.25 trillion in 2023 to N4.91 trillion in 2025, facilitating disruptions of major terror cells and improved inter-agency coordination.
“Sustained military operations have yielded measurable results, including the surrender of more than 160,000 Boko Haram and ISWAP members and their families.
“Also, President Tinubu has continued to call for the fast tracking of local policing with many states already launching the scheme. Forest guards, mining marshals and other local security services have been introduced to improve grassroot security.
“To decentralize recruitment and encourage more people to join the military, President Tinubu approved establishment of army depots in Osogbo and Ebonyi which has been described as a welcome development across board.
“A significant overhaul of the national security frame work introducing a new counterterrorism doctrine that classifies all armed non-state actors as terrorists, as outlined in the 2026 budget.
“New institutions like the Livestock Development Ministry aim to resolve farmer-herder clashes, while the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education seeks to prevent vulnerable youth from being recruited into armed groups.
“Equipment procurement has bolstered capabilities, with the addition of five aircraft to the Nigerian Air Force (including two Diamond 62 surveillance planes, two T-129 ATAK helicopters, and one King Air 360 ER), enabling over 8,665 missions and 15,915 flying hours.
“In response, these efforts have led to the neutralization of 9,415 terrorists, arrest of over 3,159 suspects, and rescue of 5,449 hostages between August 2023 and April 2025.
“Also, these initiatives have contributed to reduced influence of groups like IPOB and overall progress in building community trust and addressing underlying social issues.
“Whether you like it or not, Nigerians who lived through both administrations will not be fooled by this attempt at revisionism.
“They see the effort, they know the process and they feel the seriousness; same cannot be said of the administration you are trying to whitewash today.
“We will not watch while you misrepresent the facts with reverse psychology here. No, we will not.”
philme87: An American missionary has accused the Benue State Government of deliberately obstructing his efforts to rebuild Yelwata village, which was recently attacked by bandits.
According to him, he attempted to construct a market for the people of Yelwata, but the government rejected the proposal and instead sent him a market blueprint valued at ₦300 million. He insists the project can be completed for no more than ₦60 million.
He also claimed that there’s no market in any Nigerian village that is worth N300m.
The missionary further alleged that certain individuals are exploiting the suffering of Benue indigenes affected by bandit attacks for personal gain.
Omooba77: Abuja — Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has strongly criticised the Senate’s rejection of mandatory electronic transmission of election results, describing the decision as a grave setback to Nigeria’s democracy and a deliberate attempt to undermine electoral credibility ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi made his position known in a statement posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday.
He began by calling for prayers for the souls of more than 150 persons reportedly killed in Kwara State, noting that the tragedy partly informed his delayed reaction to what he described as “outrageous and shameful” developments surrounding Nigeria’s electoral system.
According to him, the Senate’s refusal to adopt compulsory electronic transmission of results amounts to “an unforgivable act of electoral manipulation” and a direct assault on democratic principles.
Ads by “This failure to pass a clear safeguard is nothing short of a deliberate assault on Nigeria’s democracy,” Obi said, adding that by rejecting transparency measures, lawmakers were eroding the foundation of credible elections.
He questioned the purpose of government, asking whether it exists to ensure justice and order or to institutionalise chaos for the benefit of a few individuals.
Obi argued that the controversies, disputes and alleged irregularities that characterised previous elections, particularly the 2023 general election, were largely due to the failure to fully implement electronic transmission of results. He dismissed claims of technical “glitches” during the elections as excuses, noting that many African countries have successfully adopted electronic transmission to strengthen their democracies.
“While other African nations are moving forward, Nigeria, the so-called giant of Africa, continues to lag behind, dragging itself and the continent backwards,” he said.
The former governor also criticised Nigeria’s political elite, stating that resistance to reform by those in leadership positions was responsible for the country’s governance challenges.
“We waste time organising conferences and writing papers about Nigeria’s problems, when in reality, the leaders and elite are the problem,” he said, warning that continued resistance to reform was pushing the country towards what he described as a primitive system of governance.

2027: Opposition blasts Senate for rejecting e-transmission of poll results Electoral Act: ‘ADC dead on arrival; Obi can never be president’ — Fayose Obi further warned that rejecting mandatory electronic transmission entrenches disorder and confusion aimed at perpetuating the interests of a small clique, urging leaders to think about the future of the country and the wellbeing of the next generation.
Referring to past remarks by international leaders, Obi noted that Nigeria often reacts angrily when criticised, but continues to validate those criticisms through actions that oppose transparency and reform.
“When we were called a ‘now disgraced nation,’ we were offended. Yet, with every act of resistance against reform, we continue to confirm those labels,” he said.
He cautioned that the alleged irregularities witnessed in the 2023 elections must not be repeated in 2027, calling on Nigerians to remain vigilant and committed to democratic principles.
Obi also urged the international community to pay attention to what he described as groundwork being laid for future electoral manipulation, warning that it poses serious risks to Nigeria’s democracy and development.
“A new Nigeria is possible,” he said, “but only if citizens collectively stand for transparency, accountability and credible governance.”
CyynthiaKiss: The United States condemns the horrific attack in Kwara state in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of more than 160 people, with the death toll still unconfirmed and many still unaccounted for. We express our deepest condolences to the families of those affected by this senseless violence. We welcome President Tinubu’s order to deploy security forces to protect villages in the area and his directive to federal and state officials to provide aid to the community and bring the perpetrators of this atrocity to justice.
Naijahero1: Please has he gone? We can't keep talking of Peter Obi all the time leaving our primary responsibilities. Nigerians are dying like flies, a reasonable president will prioritize safety and life over politics.
adeyaju, rino, Burob and other APC data boys will never ask tinubu such question their problem is Obi.
SadiqBabaSani: I hate the idea of U.S forces putting foot on Nigerian soil, I don't foresee them leaving anytime soon.
From antecedents, they want to turn us into another Afghanistan where they intend to stay for 20yrs.
We don't need U.S Soldiers on Nigerian Soil, Dear President Tinubu, please instead of these U.S guys, please hire South African Mercenaries who will give you results like they did with GEJ in 2014.
We are at war and for this reason, the US army is highly welcomed in Nigeria.
Since the north wants to turn Nigeria into a warzone with banditry and killer herdsmen, let the US army do the needful.
BlackViper: A woman with no formal medical qualifications defrauded the NHS by working as a health care support worker using a false ID, a court has heard.
Oluwabunmu Adeleiyi, 30, a Nigerian national living in Canton, Cardiff, on a student visa, worked at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and at the Caswell Clinic in Bridgend.
Cardiff Crown Court heard she and two accomplices used the same IDs to bill the NHS about £16,000 a month through different employment agencies.
Adeleiyi admitted four counts of fraud by false representation and was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment for each offence, to run concurrently and to be suspended for two years.
Two of the counts of fraud by false representation related to the hospital in Port Talbot and two to the medium secure mental health unit in Bridgend.
The court heard the fraud came to light when Adeleiyi checked out at the end of a night shift at the Caswell Clinic.
A receptionist noticed that a passport photo had been placed on the ID card, which was kept in a plastic wallet.
When challenged, Adeleiyi refused to hand over shift documentation.
The issue was escalated to senior management at the Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB) who declared a critical incident.
'Patients and staff put at risk'
The health board's investigation found staff had noticed "bizarre" behaviour during her shifts, including locking herself in a room on a ward.
She also locked doors in corridors that were not allowed to be locked in case of fire or if staff were needed to help deal with violent patients.
Adeleiyi, who had no training in restraint techniques, had access to confidential patient notes and made additions to observation notes herself.
The court heard health bosses said the potential risks "could have been catastrophic".
Adeleiyi used the ID of a registered healthcare support worker who fled from the UK to Nigeria using a false passport.
Judge Recorder Mark Powell KC told Adeleiyi: "You put the patients at risk... you put staff at risk."
Adeleiyi was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid community service.
Speaking after the hearing, Neil Jones, lead counter fraud specialist for SBUHB, said: "Today's sentence serves to illustrate that any fraud perpetrated against the NHS, especially where individuals target vulnerable patients or staff will be investigated fully and dealt with through the judicial system."
He said Adeleiyi had used fraudulent nursing agency identification supplied by an overseas organised crime group.
"Thankfully, she had minimal interaction with patients and a review carried out by the health board determined that no harm was caused to any patients," he said.
They will be disappointed because the gal in question is not Igbo
Had it being the gal is Igbo, by now this thread would've reached 15 pages and still counting. That is to tell sane minds how, irritating and hypocritical same Nigerians can be especially the agbadorians.
Kushites: I've never seen where a governor rules a state for nearly a decade, completes his term, and flees from the state to live in another state. In this case, Lagos.
It's extraordinary.
My question is this: Is it that Obi is not happy or satisfied with the work he did as governor, such that the idea of living there feels degrading to him?
Or is there something I'm missing?
Why is he running away from his kinsmen?
Why doesn't tinibu live in irabiji in Osun state his home town?
Why is tinibu running away from his kinsmen in irabiji?
