Nigerians on Social media have called for the arrest of Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Danladi Ciroma, for claiming that the Sunday attack on Plateau State villagers was in retaliation to the death of their cows.

DAILY POST reports that the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Danladi Ciroma, on Monday claimed that the killing of 86 persons in Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area l of Plateau State was in retaliation to the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.

He was quoted as saying “These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on a revenge mission.

“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.”

Reacting to the statement, Nigerians on social media called for justice on Miyetti Allah for the killings.

They asked that Buhari should declare them terrorists, wondering why the killers of innocent Nigerians were still walking freely.

Five suspects arraigned on Friday, June 10, 2016, in Kano over the killing of 74-year-old Bridget Agbahime for alleged blasphemy. Credit Mohammed Kabir.

A Kano Magistrates’ Court freed the five suspects accused of lynching Bridget Agbahime for allegedly blaspheming against Islam’s prophet at Kofar Wambai Market in Kano, on June 2 this year.

The 74-year-old woman was a wife of Mike Agbahime, pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church in Kano state.

The suspects Dauda Ahmed, Abdulmumeen Mustafa, Zubairu Abubakar, Abdullahi Abubakar and Musa Abdullahi were then detained and accused of inciting disturbance, culpable homicide, joint act and mischief.

However, on Thursday, November 3, the Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril discharged the five suspects and terminated the case.

Rabiu Yusuf, the principal state counsel, who represented the attorney-general of Kano state, said:

“We received the case diary from the police on June 8 and having gone through the case diary, the attorney-general of the state evaluated the facts in accordance with sections 130 and 150 of the criminal procedure code.

The legal advice presented to the court, dated June 24, states that there is no case to answer as the suspects are all innocent, and orders the court to discharge all the suspects.

Our senators and house of rep members have been exposed by Buhari and now they are trying their best to give us silly excuses that they were not aware of the budget cut in some south east projects.

Are they telling us that they were not given copies of the budget to go through before the day they passed the budget in the house?

And if they were given copies of the budget before that day it means they didnt go through it before the day they approved it. If they did they would have noticed the cut down.

And if they didnt go through it, what then were they doing that kept them so busy that they didnt go through it which is one of the reasons they were voted for? This clearly shows that they only care about the huge allowances and salaries they collect every month.

And instead of blaming our self-serving national assembly, you people are here blaming Buhari. What sort of madness are you guys displaying here?

The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has warned the Buhari Government against implementation of a directive on alleged recruitment of repentant Boko Haram members.

CAN said it had information that a number of ex-terrorists were allegedly being considered for recruitment into the Nigeria Police and Nigerian Army.

Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant on media CAN President, Rev Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, raises the alarm in a statement on Tuesday.

He wrote: “CAN is visibly disturbed at reports that the Federal Government has allegedly directed the Nigerian Army and Police to recruit some former members of Boko Haram terrorists who recently underwent deradicalisation programme.

“If it is true, CAN condemns such a policy in strong terms and ask the Federal Government, especially security agencies, to withdraw that directive which is capable of compromising the nation’s security system.”
