Tecno is a NO NO NO but infinix it depends get a good infinix then you are fine.

Interestingly Tecno and Infinix are one of a kind, same components(processors) and made by same company......... So i'd say if one is a total No........... better you move on to something very different and reliable.

Hahahahahaha let me laugh well jare.... I never knew I’ve set this thread on fire with my comment. A lot of u even went back to former post to discredit me. Well I’m not employed by anyone of u, I own my own car and I have another car, I can show u proof if u want to. I drove on rental for like a year and I didn’t make much more to buy me a car that’s Uber ready. Until I got an offline trip through a friend to Anambra that lasted a month 50k to and fro then 20k for every day I spend in anambra. I used my small car that’s I’ve always had to do the job, I made about 500k on that trip, then got an offer of a Tokunbo unpopular car. I sold the smaller car to get something tangible. I called Gazuz for advice but he discouraged me on that particular brand which I understand but I was bent on leaving the slavery of paying the better part of my earnings to someone. The car has been somehow problematic but I drive it myself and it’s better than being anyone’s slave. I got the car and luckily, the same client that took me to anambra referred me to someone else, that got me 400k richer. Within four months, with rigorous stress on Uber and support from family members living abroad that wants me to reduce d stress I go through, I managed to buy another car that I put on rental for 25k per week, my reason is based on my experience on the job. D driver doesn’t owe and we are good like that.
Now to my earlier post, I used d word rubbish because of the fare rate and 25% commission charged by Uber. And if I’m to have a job of 180k now, trust me I will never leave it to drive taxi. I will not leave certainty for uncertainty.
And for the fools talking about applying for jobs on Nairaland, sho mo age mi ni, I’m not looking for job in Nigeria anymore, I have other plans as this will also be my last year driving Taxi..

To the internet does not forget crew, my message is comming late cos I’ve been on an offline trip since Wednesday, I took someone to anambra for a burial and also to visit Holy Ghost ministry of Adoration (Ebube Monso). I just entered Lagos now now now grin and I just got 100k richer. grin

Certainty could be a trap though smiley As many people have been held up in that Certainty for so long that they are incapable of trying new things or even desire to be better.

God help us all

When you are trying to throw jibes at others or trying to caution others, Somehow it tells the kind of person you are too.

I really think we should learn to tackle issues heads on and face whoever we are dealing with. Bringing families or outsiders into it is really not a cool one sir.

Our differences makes all of us who we are afterall.

No one who has been following this thread will Give him a vehicle.

He must first earn his stripes.

But how do you manage to earn the stripes without a car??

Now all partners want Experienced drivers....... Which is not bad though, as they feel those ones will handle their cars better and work better.

But does it mean no chance for new entrants again?? Unless you are able to afford your own car

Uber with over 7000 drivers with average of 5000naira earnings/day minus 25%

Uber earns above 8,750,000 naira daily... I don't think that enough to keep the business running.Hence, uber will ve to increase commission to 30%

Is this Sarcasm or you really think this might happen sometime? grin grin

I have at least 3 elantras on my fleet on uber specifically .. The car is good and didn't have major issues at all.. The transmission issue they are talking about I don't know o ..the only transmission issue was due to the drivers fault.. Parts can be expensive and I had to change alternator in the car ..I think most cars start having alternator issue at about 150k miles or so ..I can't really think of any other issue for ..the people that complain about parts issues are mostly likely buying warn out parts.. Very hard to get good parts in ladipo ..and also I make sure they keep good maintenance culture on the car ...my cars are all tokunbo ,bought by me in the USA ..the engine cost for a USA spec elantra should not be more than 200k ..

Bottom line I will continue buying the car ..it is expensive now to buy ..the price range can be from 1.6 to 2m 2007 to 2009. And also please use good engine oil Mobil USA spec 5w20 or 5w30.. Use coolant for the car ..take care of the car to avoid been at the mercy of any mechanic either on nairaland or outside nairaland.. You don't want to be coming on nairaland to start seeking advice for car repair from anybody.. Better make you respect yourself on that order.. Even if you need help fixing your car ,it shouldn't break the bank if you have done your own part taking care of the car.. Bottom line use good engine oil and coolant to reduce been at the mercy of anybody o .
And also if the car needs repairs take it to a mechanic that knows about elantra or kia cars , there is a specialist on nairaland called the people's chump, sorry meant to say the people's mechanic.. Have not used him before, but he has a strong loyal follower on the thread, cult like follower that can swear by his good work ethic.. Some of them no dey see road at times.. But according to them he is good, he seems good but me personally I have never used him ... bottom line take care of the car use good oil USA spec Mobil 1 , the people's mechanic sells them and I sell them too . Mines goes for 15500k per 5quarts ,cheapest price on the market.. Hope have been of help any information u need . Contact me at dru23@ hotmail.com

Oaks Five Farms was for another purpose and not fit for our new rideshare purpose. Taxi App Guy lends itself better to what we do.
They both belong to me, and I own them. And I shout it loud everywhere.
If you found any issues with my moniker as you are insinuating but not quiet saying. Please say it in the full glare of the world, let everybody know what problems you have with me or my moniker.

Here are a list of my monikers, oaksfivefarms and taxiappguy. From 2016 till now, I have been helping people get on Uber. I have managed several vehicles. So there is a lot to see.
I encourage you to go dig. Whatever you find, come and shoot your shot right here where everybody can see.
As I have a feeling if you find something bad, you will be quick to share.
Make sure that if what you find is good, please share too.
Otherwise please free me let me do my business.

And if you mean it in good faith, I'm happy to continue the conversation.

Nice Edit........... Was almost surprised at the initial Ending. I am impressed once again

My sincere and candid advice - "Abort Mission"

Before you start driving, please have a basic understanding of Lagos roads especially Ikeja, Lagos Island, Victoria Island and some part of Lekki because you have a high concentration of One-Way Road along those route.

You can also solicit with other drivers on Uber to explain these roads to you.

Else all your earnings belong to LASTMA etc.

Thanks bro............. Candid indeed

Google is not 100% accurate, it has carried me to a footbridge before and insisted I climb with my car.
But I still swear by it because, by God, the places Google map has taken me to or out of. Sometimes I feel like praying for the app and blessing it.
Google is so accurate, when you are driving it will even show you exactly where the curves are in the road.
I have driven on a dark road and I had to speed. I couldn't really anticipate the curves in advance, the road was too dark. But Google had my back, believe that I was steering with the help of Google maps. Instead of looking at the road for curves, I was looking at the map and the road. Like in a video game.
Google maps is great, bruh.

Bro, Do you think a relatively new Uber driver with almost zero knowledge of Lagos roads can survive the first month with the use of google maps alone??

Putting to consideration that he might also get help from some polite riders if he is polite enough an the rider is also nice.

Lucky definition: 1. having good things happen to you by chance: 2. bringing good luck

You say that someone is lucky when they have something that is very desirable or when they are in a very desirable situation. I am luckier than most. I have a job. I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth.

Permit me to Add sir.........

- Drivers should also not push it. Some might have read the story, thereby expecting too much from any rider that appears to fit the profile. This approach might be damaging on its own, Like you said that Drivers should just keep the right attitude and good will definitely come to such fellow. When you dont expect too much, you are less likely to be disappointed..............

You could work 6months and still not have the kind of experience he had in a week, but dont feel disappointed or lose that sweet personality. Just a ride could make up for a whole year of labor.

A 2003 Toyota Corolla is available for rental

Amount: 35k per week

Repairs: I do ALL the repairs myself, irrespective of the amount

Bonus: If you deliver for 12 weeks without any story whatsoever, the 13th week is yours as Bonus.
In addition occasionally adjustments can be made for unforeseen home front issues especially if you're a family man

Terms and Conditions:

2 verifiable guarantors (I will reconfirm every single one PERSONALLY)

Negotiable *assurance* deposit

You must not be owing any of the platforms (I will check)

If you stupidly bash or heavily scratch the car due to careless and thoughtlessness, you will be wisely bounced without remorse

LASTMA/FRSC fines, if it's less than 10k it will shared equally (No one is above mistake), anything above, OYO or i bail my car and get another driver. Plus if it's rampant, contract terminated! (It's no more mistakes, Village people things)

Long Story Short:

I will NEVER fail in my duties as a partner, you must NEVER fail in delivery too.

If you meet the criteria above send a *MAIL* to owellemi@gmail.com, with your contact, a screenshot of your Uber and Taxify profile and any other thing you deem fit.

I actually prefer family men but any RESPONSIBLE single guy can apply.

Can anyone here give a practical Comparison between Uber in Lagos and Uber in ABuja

Could be your own personal experience or from your relationship with colleagues in both locations??

Which location seem most profitable? Which location is more favorable to new drivers?

Your plan or proposed step is either a Sucide Mission or a step towards Greatness.

You current job, how much do you earn and what are the prospect.

What's your buddy business all about?

What is your backup plan, if the Uber thing didn't go as planned?

Is it remotely possible for you to raise money enough to buy a car instead of adding more pressure on yourself doing HP on Uber.

Doing HP on Uber, is business on its own because you can't afford to default in your agreed payment to the car owner.

Have you considered the expenses you would incurred during your HP period.

You need to gather more relevant information from people currently doing HP on Uber to understand if your next step is a step towards greatness or a suicide mission.

My One Cent.

Cheers

Well, my current job is just one that you do not to go hungry....... If i continue in the job for another 2 years and i am on salary alone, i probably wouldnt be able to buy a car for the business after i eat, pay rent and sort bills.

The current plan is to make up some cash for the next few months, infuse part of it into my business and keep the rest for some rainy days while i get started on Uber.

Someone mentioned Rental Contract and i would really love to know how that works and if its the best for me as a newbie while i learn the ropes further.

I am trying to gather as much info as i can and learn a few things before i take the Dip into the pool.

I sure know its not gonna be easy, buy i think its better trying that being stuck in same position for years with salary that probably wont get u anywhere
