Trump already changing his statement that Palestine will return after reconstruction and live together with US settlers.
Yet, Palestine won't agree with that. Israeli govt knows that they can never live in peace by seeing Gazans as neighbour due their records of brutalities against them. Fear of revenge will give birth to psychological trauma. |

Christianity Etc › Re: As A Muslim, Why Don't You Support Sharia Law In Yorubaland? by Mccullum: 1:30pm On Jan 31, 2025 |
sreamsense: What is the good things you can point to that has happened to the north especially zamfara that first implemented it? At the end of the day, sharia in zamfara ended up recruiting harden bandits and criminals that shari law can never be applied to. So, far there is nothing good you can point to in the north, such things can never be emulated. It only brings backwardness. Also, Islam is minority in the south west because christians and traditionalists out numbers Muslims, and Christianity remains the most populous of you factor in that Ondo and Ekiti are 85% christians while other south west states share nearly evenly.
In a family where father is a Muslim, wife is a christian and children are shared in faith. So, you want to use sharia to cut the hand of the father that is the bread winner of the house while others will be looking at Islam in good faith, right? The idea should be dropped, it can't work in south west, they are more enlighten and educated people Islam is not minority in South West. |

Politics › Re: Ewi Of Ado-Ekiti Disbands Sharia Panel, summons Islamic leaders by Mccullum: 8:51pm On Jan 25, 2025 |
UncleAyo: Sharia law is a relic of the past that has no place in a modern and progressive society like Yorubaland. It is a system that promotes backwardness, undermines justice, and stifles cultural and societal development. Historically, the Yoruba people have thrived on their Omoluabi ethos—values of integrity, progressiveness, and respect for humanity. Sharia law contradicts these principles and threatens the foundation of our heritage.
The government must take a firm stand against individuals or groups advocating for the imposition of Sharia law in Yorubaland. It is crucial to investigate and monitor clerics who push this agenda, as many of them are likely influenced by external forces seeking to destabilize our region. These individuals should be held accountable, and where necessary, prosecuted, as their actions endanger the unity and progress of our people.
Clerics championing Sharia law should focus on meaningful contributions to society rather than exploiting religion as a means to manipulate and scam the vulnerable. Yorubaland has always been a beacon of innovation, education, and cultural pride, and we must not allow regressive ideologies to erode the progress built by our ancestors. Those who insist on practicing Sharia law are encouraged to relocate to regions or countries where it is already established, rather than impose it on communities that reject it.
The example of northern Nigeria, where Sharia law is practiced, provides a clear warning. Despite its implementation, the region has not recorded any significant progress attributable to the law. Instead, it has created a system of inequality, where the poor and vulnerable are oppressed while the powerful and corrupt evade justice. No northern governor or political elite has ever faced Sharia's full weight, exposing its inherent flaws and hypocrisy.
Yorubaland must stand united against the infiltration of these regressive ideologies. We must protect our cultural heritage, foster progress, and ensure that the Omoluabi values remain the guiding principles of our society. The future of Yorubaland lies in education, inclusivity, and innovation—not in the adoption of archaic laws that have repeatedly failed to deliver justice or development. Sharia method of settling dispute has been in Yoruba land before you were born. The only different of what happened in Ekiti was establishment of committee for it. Unlike before that a knowledgeable scholar or cleric will be called for settlement of dispute according to Quran and Hadith. Though, I don't support it too. It's better for them to be doing it how it goes before. |

Kemetian: YOU ARE THE STUPID ANIMAL, WITH FOAM WHERE YOUR BRAIN OUGHT TO BE.
AFROBEATS is what has led to this surge of interest in Nigeria.
Does your MUMU head know how Afrobeats came about?
When Nigerian ''youngsters and gen z'' of the year 2000 were partying to US R&B and HipHop in clubs, campuses, radio etc, the then President Obasanjo ordered ALL radio stations to start playing a minimum 70% local content music.
He was met with VITRIOLIC ABUSE AND DENOUNCED AS A 'DICTATOR' by the Nigerian ''youngsters and gen Z'' of his day.
Dumb as fck just like you.
The directive forced the radio stations and record labels to look for indigenous bands, who suddenly became HOT CAKES in a country where people had previously laughed at those who played Nigerian music.
Suddenly we saw the likes of Plantation Boys, 2 Shotz, Eedris Abdulkareem and others. Then 2Face, Bracket, D-Banj... etc
The rest is history.
WITHOUT THAT GOVT DIRECTIVE, THERE WOULD BE NOTHING LIKE AFROBEATS TODAY.
ZERO.
ZILCH.
No Burna. No Davido. No Asake. No Rema. No Wizkid. No Tems. No Ayra Starr. No Tiwa Savage. No Flavour. No Olamide. No Kizz Daniel. No Mr Eazi. No Fireboy DML. No Yemi Alade. No Tekno. No Omah Lay etc etc......
Even the infrastructure and facilities/hotels the revellers are coming to enjoy in Nigeria, was it your Gen z that built them?
Or was it grown-ups?
Would foreigners come here if it was bush?
Little insolent airhead.
Without the older Nigerians you are insulting, you would be a stark naked illiterate in the village like your grandparents were, under colonial rule, so kindly shut the fck up. You're absolutely correct. It's enabling environment created by the government giving result today. |
