jedisco: As of the time I wrote that, the HTC phones had not yet been released and Lumia series were being considered as flagships. Even now that the HTCs have been put as the official flagships by Microsoft, the Lumias are undoubtedly the more popular option and are still considered as the elite group of WP to many.
With 'Lumia' being a more popular search term than 'windows phone', its safe to say that the only reason alot of people know about WP is cos of the Lumia series as WP never got into alot of major markets until they arrived.
So Lumia is to WP what the galaxy line is to android and what Nokia was to symbian and with well over 50% user base in less than a year, I see no reason for they not to be considered as flagships.


As regards the UI- I agree that its quite subjective and that's why I used the phrase 'to me'. That said, I gave very objective reasons why I consider it as the best as it effectively combines the pros of both android and iOS.

As regards speed, judging OSes based on that has never and will never be an exercise in futility and besides speed wasn't the only feature I listed. Yes for the high-ends the issue of lag may have been reduced that its not so visible in some general tasks, this is not the case with the low-ends where the lag still abounds and the speed of the OS comes into play.
As far as iPhone 6, Galaxy SIV and perhaps Lumia 930 and those after them will be faster than their current iteration, then it still means that there is still alot of room for improvement as far as speed is concerned. If not, why do OEMs still release faster CPUs and more powerfull GPUs?
