Spy360: I buy your 3-4-3 idea, but that is not the only way to beat Barcelona. Other methods like the one Wenger applied are equally effective.
He had two speedy wingers in Sanchez and Ox, to play quick counters and keep Barca's overlapping fullbacks in check. That way they lack the necessary width to breakdown the defence.
Also it gives you a room to attack because you want to win too. You have to score.
Again as a team which can also keep the ball the 4-5-1 was perfect. Any team that can hold the ball in midfield for 30secs can do Barca serious harm. That said, it was obvious that the team created clear scoring chances but their finishing was very poor, infact a disgrace. This summarises Arsenal this season- create tonnes of chances but very poor finishing.
Having said so, it does not mean that any team can then beat Barca. They have so much quality that whatever tactics you come up with, you can ONLY PRAY. |

dearpreye: My people, we're indeed witnessing another golden era in the proud history of our great team, FCBARCELONA.
The last night game was one in which we even played poorly and yet we came out victorious. Arsenal plated their very best- just like Malaga, Las Palmas, etc did - but we still came out smiling. I thought I has seen re best barca during the Pep years but here is another huge improvement on that team. This is really a wonderful football arrangements. All barca fans must really savour these moments; it might be long before we see such again.
Once again, we proved to those EPL folks that football is no longer mere brawn; it's now pure game of brain and superior intelligence. There's a limit to what physic and pace could do, but there's no limit to what imagination could do.
All through the game, not even minding we were playing against one of the best of England, I wasn't disturbed in the least: I had implicit faith in the ability and intelligence of my guys and they were true to it. That was an average performance form our monster and it was still enough to break the spirit of the Gunners.
Where do I start from? Messi. We've exhausted all superlatives. Neymar. Selfless. Suarez. Selfless. Don Andres. Oh Busquets. What a player. We appreciate you. Rakitic . We appreciate you. Ter Stegen. Many thanks. Alves and Pique. Great leaders. Overall a great team of football.
How did Messi score his first goal? Cech was expecting a first time smash shot that most average strikers would have taken but Messi isn't an average player. His deliberate delay allowed Cech to obey the law of gravity, thereby allowing the Mercurial Messi to lobby the ball into the net, to the chagrin of the already floored keeper. His penalty. Arrogant. Yet humble.
Oh the glamour of the MSN. The chemistry of these humble strikers. Let me stop here.
Brethren, let's forget all those mundane arguments on the talent of Busquets and ENJOY this team. We might never be lucky again- not to soon.
Arsenal can kiss goodbye to this season's UCL Bro, you have said it all! I've never fancied all these constant arguments about whether our players are average or not and I barely ever engage in them. We have the best team in the world and I'm always saying it that we should all savour this moment. Imagine being treated to a sweet brand of football every 3 days, it's not easy man! And talking about Messi's 1st goal, I just can't have enough of it. He practically rendered Cech helpless before scoring As for EPL, they're going to be on a long thing for a really long time. Sheybi they think football is all about brawn, power? They are still learning Football has evolved and as far as I'm concerned, they don't play football in EPL, it's more like rugby. And that's why they'll continue to be exposed in the UCL. |

Messi's first goal was pure class. The way his first touch sent Cech begging for messi was breath-taking. And who has noticed that Messi always score a brace against GKs he hasn't scored before? Vincent Enyeama- Brazil 2014 World Cup Manuel Neuer- 14/15 UCL Petr Cech- 15/16 UCL. We should be expecting a brace when he will eventually score against Chelsea. I'm still having orgasms from that 1st goal |

Chelseafan1: Anxiety disorder and fear killed them, they could have finished the game from the first half, if nothing, @ least 2 goals. Lol....finished which game? If they had scored the 2 goals, the match wouldn't still end that way cuz there's no way we will leave the Emirates without an away goal or two |

Well, for the sake of next weekend clash against Madrid, I will like them to lose or draw, so that if they can win next week at the Bernabéu, it will help them to still remain atop Madrid albeit with a point or tied on points. We shouldn't even be worried about their results cuz we get to decide our fate. They depend on us. Good feeling. |

The thing that Arsenal or any other team lack in the world is mig toc. Half touch passing. Mig toc, mig toc. People talk about one touch passes. Barça is a step ahead. Busquets for example. Our control, passing accuracy, positioning...No other team has it. It's evident when you watch Barça and then go watch a PL team. Forget the goals or the attacks, just the respect and affection a Barça player has for the ball, it's evident in every touch, every pass. As Cruijff said, it's more important what a player does for his teammates than what he does himself. Where he moves to create passing lanes, making runs through lines, how he gives his teammates support.. Barça wins there all day long.
In La Masia young players do not do physical training until they reach the age of sixteen. It is all about the ball and how you can use it. Make it a part of yourself, love it. If you lose it, get it back within seconds, the famous five second rule of Pep, still and forever in use for success. We are a special club. Saw this on FB and decided to share. |
