CareerRe: Is There Any Risk In Asking For A Raise In Salary? by McFabian07(m): 11:16pm On Aug 31, 2018
Bro, let me just add to what has been said.
1. The first thing you need to do is compile results you've achieved for the company. Saying you're productive is subjective - results on the other hand do not lie.
2. Formally asked to be confirmed. write to your immediate superior, copy his/her Boss and HR. Highlight the results you've achieved for the firm, and politely asked for a review or meeting to discuss your career growth within the firm (of course to enable you add more value to them).
3. Update your CV with results stated in 1 above. and start passively applying for other positions.
4. If called for a meeting or review, make sure you have handy the list you compiled in 1 above, don't assume they'll remember. it's your bargaining chip no one can fault.

All the best.

Veritas Registrars is the Registrar for Dangote Sugar.
Your dividend warrant might have been dispatched from them or returned unclaimed.
You will need to identify yourself with a valid ID.
Look for the nearest Veritas Registrars office or send them a mail - (enquiry@veritasregistrars.com)
Even if they cant find your warrant, an e-dividend form will be issued to you to fill and return to enable you claim this and future dividends directly in your bank account.
Best of luck.
Thanks a lot

Hello Everyone,
I want to ask a question,
I'm about to run a project which is capital intensive, i wanted a loan but people wanting to fund my project they want at least 20℅ share of my company.
Truth is I really need to do this project.
But I feel like giving someone 20℅ share of my company is like mortgaging the company.
Please, can someone give me advise if I should accept the deal or not.
I don't understand people, please help me.
He'll loan you money. you'll give him 20% stake.
then you pay back the money he loaned you, (with interest)
what happens to the 20% stake after that?
Or are you selling 20% stake of your business for the money he is investing?
I really want to understand this deal

Bankers can be funny if you not confident and know what you are doing.

I was in my bank this morning to get a loan, the officer first asked of where I work. I told her that I am self employed, then asked for the name of my business which I gave to her.

She then asked for my account number and that of my business, my business and I both have an account with First Bank.

After she saw the turnover on the account she was impressed, asked for the value of loan I needed and duration of the payment.

She then asked for collateral, I didn't want to use my shares, but my Treasury Bill Investment as collateral.

She said for her to ask to proceed with the loan application my Treasury Bill MUST be converted to fixed deposit. Because there was no way she could place a lien on Treasury Bill, since it is in custody of Central Bank.

I reminded her that what I have in NTB is 5 times the value of the loan, and when the TB matures it would be paid back into the account.

I told her to forget about the loan that I was no longer interested, before she spoke to her oga and the man told her that my loan application will fly.

I have applied for the loan, the lady has called me thrice today apologising for her behaviour. The fund should hit the account by next week.
she wants to use you to fill quota and meet target.

If you are new to TBills, you can learn a lot from this thread. However, if you find it tedious to scroll through the pages, gathering the information you need about it bit by bit, from page to page before investing, you might consider reading this article I've put together. Based on what I've learnt from this wonderful thread over the long stay.

It will help you understand TBills at a glimpse and help you get all the info you need to start investing in one place.

Nice write up.
Straight forward too.
You didn't state how much minimum one can invest. is it only million million? or can lesser amounts be invested. what's the practical minimum?
EducationRe: Outcry Over Total Merit Scholarship Scheme by McFabian07(m): 12:41pm On Mar 04, 2017
Won this scholarship in 2012, even helped them get the contact of the Dean students affairs in my school (FUTO), however, they never paid me a dime. when I complained, and even went to Lagos to try and get a seat down, the lady in charge scolded me from the gate through the security phone. that was how I just forgot about the whole scholarship. its really sad that 7 years on this issue is still ongoing.

RomanceRe: I Want To Help My Boyfriend But Scared It Might Be Termed As Being Desperate by McFabian07(m): 8:30am On Feb 12, 2017
Here's my advice.
1. Don't give him money you can't let go.
2. Give him the money as a loan.
3. Don't give him the money directly. If you guys have an elderly male friend or relative, give the person the money to loan your bf. let the person never tell him it's from you. This way he will have his dignity and respect, and you would have helped him. possibly, the money may come back.
4. Don't expect anyhing in return, or never use it against him in the future.

I've been passively reading about stocks since my secondary school days, for the last 2 months I have been religiously following and reading this thread (I tried starting from the beginning but decided to continue from the end - the thread long well and I need to get up to speed fast) I am confident to enter the market actively next year, and I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your insightful posts. I hope when I come asking questions I'll be put through. Thanks and a prosperous 2017.

Hello People,

Please I need your feedback and critique of the piece I sent in for Etisalat Flash Fiction Prize. I hope it will help improve my writing. it was also inspired by one of my writing inspiration Elnathan John.
Thanks.

You stand backstage; hands clasped, head bowed, eyes closed. Huge dark drapes separates you from the audience. You’re tensed. “It’s just open mic” reassures the Theatre Manager. “My first time” you force a smile. Chris is on stage. This was his crazy idea. He talked you into this, that night he came with his laptop to borrow data. He encouraged you to apply after him and your presentation number followed his.

Chris was the guts, you the brains. You forced him 700 times to listen to your work – words, lyrics, pitch, mannerisms, and stage presence. Everything! The one who dragged you into this must be your pseudo-audience; you’re not going to make a fool of yourself. You chuckle.
With eyes closed you recite the words one last time – out loud. The world stood still to listen. The rhymes and pitch sync for maximum effect. Your voice resonates on the sound system. It feels so real. You deliver your punchlines to a rapturous applause. You beam. “You’re up” the Theatre Manager nudges you. You open your eyes, confident to deliver.

You swallow the lump in your throat, as Chris emerges. “How was it?” you ask. “Good luck” he muttered inaudibly, barely meeting your gaze. Your name is escorted with a warm applause. You breathe deeply and step on stage into the lights, holding the mic to hide shaky hands. The audience gawks, you stare back. Silence. You begin.

Second stanza and murmurs turn hostile shouts. You stutter, trying to regain composure. “Shut up!” one screamed. “Get off!” came another. “Waka!” “Thief!” “Away!” Stunned, you walk off. The embrace of a familiar face eludes you, no Chris backstage. The cold stare from the Theatre Manager confirms your fears. You have been tagged the copycat. “Get out and never come back!” he bellows.
