Religion / Re: Christians, Why Does Faith Need Regular Recharging? by mcfynest(m): 12:32pm On Jan 17, 2016
plaetton:
Every statistic shows that atheists are in the far minority in almost every country .
I personally think that the opposite is the case.

Millions of christians all over the world will head to church today to recharge their faith, their commitment to their beliefs.
In both the older and new generation churches, the faithful would find other reasons to attend one or several church services during the weekdays.

So it's quite obvious that faith is not just holding a set of beliefs, but is actually a commitment to holding such beliefs.
As such, protecting the belief itself, from oneself, becomes the primary duty and preoccupation of the faithful.

Given the fact that christians come on this forum, and in fact every public forum, to promote and sell the veracity of their beliefs, I cannot but wonder why things that they accept with absolute certainty needs to be repeated, regurgitated and recharged every so often.

Who are the faithful afraid of?
Atheists?
Satan?
Or themselves?

Can atheists ever rob you of your absolute truth?
Can Satan ever rob you of your absolute truths?

I mean, you believe with certainty that god exists. So does the Sun, so does gravity, so does ultra violet radiation. So what is the big deal ?

Do I need to recharge my belief in gravity every single day? If I did that, wouldn't that be a sign that perhaps I am bit doubtful?

I find it hilarious that the same people who actively promote the belief that god and Jesus exist also promote the regular and necessary recharge of such beliefs.

For example, what would happen to a christian if he or she ceases to go to church or fellowship for recharge?
Would the faith battery die off?
If the faith dies or diminishes, then what happens to the absolute truths held ?
Do they remain truths or do they reconfigure and die off ?

Lol.

1. How did you know that they were spiritually edified (?) and filled to do it? Because they said so or because you simply want to believe so ? shocked
In the same way, how did you know that were not pedophiles amongst them?
You can never know, can you?

2. Those books have HELPED WHO? shocked
Guide to life?
You gotta be kidding.
More like guide to conflicts, wars, schisms, ignorance and mental slavery.

If it was anything resembling a guide to like, then please explain why there are 10,000 different christian sects who cannot agree on what is written in your god inspired books.

Abeg.

3. Sorry , but the word " prophesy " was coined for the backward and less intelligent.

Thank God you know the meaning of faith

Pure nonsense.

Ignorance or just lying for Christ?

Who were the general body of Christians?

Who determined what was demonic and what was not, and using what criteria?

Aren't you smart enough to think how ridiculous it is for a select group of self-appointed churchmen( who could have been pedophiles) sat down, debated and voted on what is god inspired and what is not ?

1- they were spitially edified and filled to do it.
2- those books have helped us thoughtout ever dincce as a basis/guide to life.
3-it is filled with prophesies that arr being fulfilled now.

Exactly, what I was heading to.

It is not surprising that the bible not only ignored him completely, despite the fact that he built great cities, but history and myth tend to demonize him.

The bible gave a hint about him....Genesis 10:8 KJV
And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

However, it is normal for history to demonize him, he was a black man

so all the structures you see in the world today that amaze you and are still around today were all built by the nephilim. the pyramids of giza, the sphinx and stonehenge are a few examples

No sir.
Nimrod was not a god.
Nimrod was a historical character.
He was a great leader who built great cities.
Legend has it was he who led the construction of the tower Babel.
Obviously, the gods respected and feared him.
The fact that the bible chroniclers chose to ignore him should be a testament to his greatness and the fear he exhuded.

Right from antiquity, every worshiper elevates his/ her god to supreme status.
The idea of a supreme, most high God is still a mental creation of individuals.

In Babylon and Canaan, EL was the supreme god.
In Egypt, Ptah was the supreme god.
In ancient Sumeria, Anu was the supreme god, etc.

Therefore, in those days , a supreme god simply meant the leader of the pantheon, the patriarch of the gods.

Of course, over time, these supreme gods were awarded with exaggerated attributes like omni this and omni that.

In all of this ,Yahweh was a junior god whose only inheritance were the non-fertile domains of Canaan, along with a tribe he adopted as his pet project.

Nimrod was a black warrior

now at a point in time in the history of mankind on this sphere of existence, we had gods walking amongst us before they fell into the abyss of the milky way galaxy. the nehilims. here are a few of them and what they taught us

1-araqiel taught us geomancy
2-kokabiel taught astrology and the constellations and stars
3-baraqiel taught astrology
4-ezeqeel taught about the nebula
5-shamsiel taught the signs of the sun
6-zariel taught about the course of the moon
