Hello Nairalanders. I have been following for a while now. I have had admission since February (M.A Communication at MSVU) but proof of funds has been a major problem up till now. I have no sponsor who has that kind of money and neither do I have that money as well as I am currently unemployed. I feel pained mostly because among those we applied together, my admission came first and I have even helped another person process admission after mine and those people are currently applying even in other countries ( I have asked questions on their behalf many times on this forum) I do not want this to go like this now that it's my turn. From the wisdom of my vast experiences, I wouldn't advice you to apply with same account statement. You're trying to cheat the immigration system of Canada and when caught in such ACT, you may be found inadmissible to Canada for a period of 5-years. Consequently, my professional advice for you is to wait until your brother's application has been completed and a decision reached on his file. IRCC are a team of smart people and are quick to pick out irregularities on any file submitted to them. It's also possible your application goes to same visa officer processing your brother's file. Who knows?

Almost all universities in Canada are competitive. Apart from a good CGPA, there are other requirements to be satisfied. If the GPA of your last two years in school is good, it will be a plus. In my own observation and experience, only a good GPA can't guarantee a possible admission. For further hint, move back on a pages, similar topic was discussed or go through my previous post by clicking on my signature. I have few posts on the topic.

University of Calgary is a good school and its expected to be competitive. Hence, it advisable to apply to more schools for improved chances of admission.

Hello nairalanders, have been a silent follower of this thread for about a year. I intend to apply for Masters communication and media studies at University of Calgary. Please I need to know my chances of getting admitted into this university as I heard it can be very competitive but considering my CGPA 4.27, should I carry on; better chance of securing admission? Thanks in anticipation. Also if there is anyone in that Uni, I wouldn't hesitate sliding into his/her mail in no time.
