Northerners and their act of thieving. They are inseparable. During Jonathan's time, same people mess the system up |
I think the write-up below should get us thinking: THE IGBOS AND THE YORUBA 'COLD WAR'; A CASE FOR SOUTHERN UNITY. By Charles Ogbu. "Power is like a shadow. It resides exactly where men who are under its control think it resides" The above is true with regards to the situation of Southerners in the Nigerian experiment. We think the Fulanis are the ones that have been holding power and because we think and believe so, it actually look so. Because of this assumed knowledge, we hand over our destinies, our future and those of our children to a people who are not above 11 million, have little or no education and contribute little or nothing to the national pulse. What if I told you that the real power rests in the South and with southerners but that the mutual distrust and foolish superiority contest between Igbos and Yorubas is the biggest obstacle to wielding this power? This senseless feud between these two Southern giants is also the biggest enabler and promoter of the fulani Oligarchy. The southern part of Nigeria owns the oil which feeds the entire country. Without the oil today, there is no economy and there is no Nigeria. The same south controls the commercial sector of the economy. The media is still owned and controlled by the South. When a people owns the only thing that is feeding a whole country and still control commerce plus the media through which people's thoughts and opinions about anything can be shaped and can equally boast of the best human resources, what else does it take for such a people to wield power in such a country? Unity! The few fulanis who have been running this country directly and indirectly since independence, what do they have? Unity! When the fulani Oligarchs want to achieve an aim, they effortlessly find a way to get every northern minorities such as Christians and middle Belts on their side even when they almost always end up discarding these same minorities and even killing them once the aim is achieved. Now, ask yourself: how have the fulani Oligarchs managed to turn the entire Nigeria into an 'Animal Farm' with them as the only "Napoleon' despite their low education and the fact that all the prerequisites/bargaining chips for acquiring and wielding power are domiciled in the South?? Igbo-Yoruba 'cold war'! This, right here, is the answer. The day the two biggest southern ethnic groups --The Igbos and The Yorubas --decide to put a stop to their needless bickering and channel all their energy towards confronting their common enemy --the children of Danfodio--, that is the day the Fulani Oligarchs will understand that even though the king is the one with the crown, he is nothing without the kingmakers and the people. The Fulanis are not runing Nigeria because they are smarter than others. Far from it. They are messing with the destinies of over 180million people because the two Southern big brothers with the wherewithal to end their murderous reign of impunity are busy chasing rats while their houses are afire. I am no historian neither do I pride myself as a man of letters but I know for a fact that the biggest weapon of the fulanis is neither guns nor bombs. Their biggest weapon is their ability to identify their opponents' weak points or even create one where none exists, magnify it and use same to create division amongst them just so they would effortlessly implement their Divide And Rule tactics. Sadly, they have succeded in using this weapon against Southern Nigeria's two biggest ethnic groups. Throughout history, all the wars and woes visited on both the Igbos and the Yorubas all came from the fulanis. There is no record of ethnic clash between these two humane southern Nations. No time has these two people ever disagreed violently. Strangely, the mutual suspicion that exist between these two great peoples seem far greater than the one they harbour against their common oppressor, the Scions of Danfodio. It was not the Igbos who imprisoned Awolowo and killed thousands of Yoruba youths who protested the unjust imprisonment for days in different Yoruba cities in 1963. It was the fulanis and the killing was done by another fulani man, Muhammadu Buhari, who was the then platoon commander, 2nd infantry brigade, Abeokuta. That same year, Buhari was gifted with double promotion on the same day by the govt of Tafawa Balewa. It was not the Igbos who imprisoned many Yoruba leaders, forced others into exile and killed others like Abiola after annuling his presidential victory. It was not the Igbos who attacked Yoruba citizens in Lagos neither was it the Igbos who desecrated Yoruba cradle of civilisation, Ile-Ife by cutting off the head of a Yoruba citizen and parading it along the street, thereby sparking off a bloody ethnic clash that ended in the arrest of only the Yorubas including an Oba by the fulani president and his fulani security agents. It is not Igbo herdsmen that kidnapped a yoruba son, Chief Olu Falae and have been going about terrorizing and killing Yorubas in Osun, Ogun, Kwara etc with govt-sponsored impunity. On the other hand, It wasn't the Yorubas that killed thousands of Igbos in the 1945 Jos pogrom and 1953 kano pogrom. It was not the Yorubas who slaughtered millions of Igbos in the North after the first 1966 coup. It was not the Yorubas who jailed an Igbo son, Alex Ekwueme who was only the vice president while the president, Shehu Shagari, a fulani, was left in a cosy apartment in the govt house. It was a Fulani man, Muhammadu Buhari who did this in 1984 after overthrowing the then govt in a coup. Was it the Yorubas that is holding Nnamdi Kanu? Or was it the Yorubas who rained bullets and acid on hundreds of Igbo sons and daughters praying inside a school field in Abia state on Feb.9th, 2016 and those remembering their Biafran heros inside a church in Onitsha on May 29-30, that same year? Is it Yoruba herdsmen that have been killing, maiming and raping villagers in Nimbo, Nsukka, Awgu Bende Council etc, all in Igbo land? Today, even Jack, my two day old puppy knows that Nigeria CANNOT work as presently constituted. It was the rejection of the Aburi Accord by the Fulani Oligarchs which would have restructured Nigeria as a Confederation that led to the Biafran war. Today, the Yorubas want a restructured country. The Niger Delta want the same thing. The Igbos want Biafra BECAUSE Nigeria has refused to restructure. Who are the only people resisting the call for restructuring, thereby holding everyone to ransom? Your guess is as good as mine. Dear Yorubas and Igbos, what exactly are you dragging? Why have you refused to realise that you have a common enemy, a very ruthless common enemy who have kept you busy fighting among yourselves while he's busy ruining your future and that of your unborn generation? Can you not see that your siblings; Ijaws, Urhobo, Edo, etc are all looking up to you for that 'big brother' leadership and direction? Can't you see that the fulanis are not really the problem? You are! Your disunity is! You have no reason to be fighting. Was it not a Yoruba man, Lt. Col Fajuyi, who chose to die with his visitor and commander-in-Chief, Thomas Umunnakwe Aguyi-Ironsi, an Igbo man, rather than give him up to the Hausa/fulani soldiers on 28th July, 1966? Was it not an Igbo man, Odumegwu Ojukwu, who released Obafemi Awolowo from calabar prison and sent a squad of Eastern Nigerian policemen who escorted him to Ikenne, Ijebu, his home town? You pride yourselves as the two most educated people in the country, yet your best brains have been reduced to playing 2nd fiddle to the Scions of Danfodio who are mostly without even a secondary school certificate. In 1979, it was one of the best Igbo brains, Alex Ekwueme, playing 2nd fiddle to Shehu Shagari. In 1983/84, it was Idiagbo playing 2nd fiddle to a Buhari who had no certificate. In 2015, it is a Yoruba professor of law still in political purgatory under the same fulani-born Muhammadu Buhari who has now acquired a certificate........NEPA bill certificate. Ojukwu is dead. So is Awolowo. And since I was born, Igbos and Yorubas have never killed each other. How about we put the gory stories of the war behind us and save ourselves and unborn children from this danger that is staring us in the face? It is always the descendants of Danfodio doing all the killing, all the subjugation and slavery and we, the entire south have always been the victim. In a nutshell, Charles Ogbu is simply saying that the Igbos and the Yorubas should channel their energy towards confronting their common enemy. You can join forces to fight a formidable enemy and still remain ethnically patriotic to your respective ethnic groups! Wisdom is profitable to direct. Charles Ogbu |

Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, a trader in Ogun state has been arrested for naming his dog Buhari – According to the report, Chinakwe told his friend to kill the dog and eat the meat as his accuser and his kinsmen reportedly threatened to kill the trader if he was released on bail A dog was named Buhari Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, a trader in Ogun state has been arrested for naming his dog Buhari. Chinakwe was arrested after one of his neighbours of Northern extraction complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari. According to Vanguard, Chinakwe told his friend to kill the dog and eat the meat as his accuser and his kinsmen reportedly threatened to kill the trader if he was released on bail. A relation to the suspect, identified as Chiedozie, said Chinakwe was being persecuted for no just cause and expressed fears that he may either be poisoned inside police cell or thrown into jail. “Chinakwe is a lover of dogs and he names them after things that tickle him. He bought this dog a year ago and named it Buhari. Unfortunately, some Northerners, who dominate the vicinity where he resides misconstrued his intention and connived to take him up. The complainant then claimed it was derogatory because his father answers Buhari.” But a police source said “he not only named the dog Buhari but boldly wrote it on the body of both sides of the dog and was seen parading the neighbourhood dominated by Northerners with it.” Confirming the arrest of the trader, the acting Police spokesman in Ogun state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said he was still trying to get the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Sango for details. “I have made enquiries. The man bought a dog and inscribed Buhari on both sides of its body. One Mallam lodged a complaint and when our men got there, we found out that it was true. You know such thing can cause serious breach of the peace and ethnic or religious unrest. We are charging him to court for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.” He added that; “He was arrested last Saturday and we are taking him to court later today (Tuesday) or tomorrow morning (today). You know an average Northerner will feel bad over such a thing. It can cause serious ethnic crisis or religious confrontation because when you are relegating such a name to a certain person, you are indirectly insulting him.” But the spokesman said the dog will be used as evidence against the suspect; “The dog cannot follow anybody except the owner. We will use him as our evidence because he did not deny it.” source: naijnews |

from Okoli Sunday THE South East Senate Caucus yesterday warned against what it termed imminent danger and possible attack on the unity of Nigeria if the Federal Government fails to urgently address the Enugu massacres by the marauding Fulani herdsmen. Rising from an emergency meeting in Abuja yesterday, the Senators not only condemned the attack, which left over 50 persons dead and scores driven out of their homes, they also called for a summit of South East and South South State Governors, members of National and State Houses of Assembly, Socio-Cultural associations, traditional rulers and major stakeholders immediately. In a statement by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Abia South after the meeting, the emergency summit was put in place to review and evaluate the very scary situation and profer a coordinated response that would ensure the security of lives and properties of their people. According to the caucus, the summit became imperative against the background of the ominous silence and apparent indifference of the presidency over the killings in Enugu, some areas in Delta state and so many other zones in recent time even when there was obvious intelligence reports. The statement read, “We can no longer sit and watch while our people are daily slaughtered like fowls without even attracting the cursory routine condemnation by the Presidency. “We are even more appalled that despite the alarm raised by the Uzo Uwani Communities of an imminent attack by the fulani herdsmen and the associated vague assurances by the Chairman of Fulani community in Enugu that such attack will not happen, yet the security agencies failed to prevent the attack that happened two days after the alarm. “It is disheartening what is happening and somebody has to take responsibility. That somebody has to be the institution of the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” |

From Okoli Sunday, Awka A one day sensitization meeting with management and stakeholders of Federal Institutions in Orumba North Local Government Area has ended with a resolve by participants to abide by the guidelines establishing such Federal institutions. The event with the theme, “Location of Higher Institutions in Nigerian Community and Application of Federal Character Principle” was held at the Orumba North Secretariat, Ajali. The meeting was organized by the Federal Character Commission, Abuja. In attendance were Stakeholders in Institutions in the area, Traditional cum Community leaders among others. Declaring the town hall meeting open, Governor Willie Obiano noted that because FCC exists, Nigeria has remained one united entity as their guidelines has prepared grounds for justice and fair play. Represented by his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, Governor Obiano stressed that the quota system has helped those Federal institutions, as to who gets what. While reiterating that violence and crisis create tension in the State, with particular mention of what he described as senseless killings in the Federal College of Education Technical, Umunze, the Governor called for entrenchment of peace and harmony, as the State government has made and still making frantic efforts to provide security in the State. Earlier in an address of welcome, the Executive Chairman of FCC, Dr Shettima Barkar Abah represented by the Commissioner in Ekiti State Mr Olubunmi Ojo, stressed the importance of host Communities’ protection of Federal projects and institutions in their location, noting that in case of continued tension and rancour, the Federal Government reserves the right to relocate such institutions, which is not in the Communities’ best interest. In a paper presentation, the resource person and Director SAPAD FCC, Mr Vincent Onobun, appealed to participants to support the people by complete attitudinal change for social justice and inclusion, saying that Communities’ clamour for what belongs to all can be disastrous.

Ex-Governor Obi’s camp kicks
Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has cashed in on
some of the dollar components of the tenured savings
left by his predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi.
According to sources, the transaction consummated on
December 16, 2015, through the Anambra State
Investment Promotion Agency (ANSIPA) saw the
disposal of 8.25 per cent of First Bank of Nigeria Plc
Bonds from which about $10.2 million was realised.
This amounted to about N3 billion, going by the present
exchange rate.
The bond, which was to mature in August 2020, had an
annual coupon yield of 8.25 per cent and was
purchased by Access Bank at a much discounted rate
on December 18, 2015.
The sale was carried out ‘over the counter’ to keep it
away from public glare, it was alleged.
This sale is coming after the Obiano administration is
said to have reaped over N8.7 billion in total interest
yields from the savings and investment portfolio left by
Obi.
Obiano is also alleged to have borrowed heavily in less
than two years of his administration.
A few months ago, there was a furore over the actual
amount left by Obi. The Secretary to the State
Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu said there was
no plan to dispose of the saving which he described as
“near cash” and which he insisted was only about N9
billion only.
However, Obi’s former aides insisted that $156 million
(N26.5 billion) was saved by Obi’s administration,
which was valued at $176 million (N35 billion) as at
November 2015.
When the Accountant-General of the state, Mrs Ngozi
Okonkwo, was contacted on the sale, she declined to
comment on the matter, saying it has to do with the
finances of the state. She, however, warned that
Obiano and Obi are good friends and the press should
not create a crisis between them.
“You cannot ask me to comment on the state’s
finance, it is not done. How many Accountant-Generals
have you asked about their state’s finances? Is that
how you people do?
“Can I ask you how much was the soup your wife
cooked? So please don’t ask me that question because
I don’t know you. The two governors are friends; you
should not do anything against them,” she said.
Special Adviser to Governor Obiano Mr. Mark Okoye
said he was at a meeting and he did not reply to text
messages.
But another of Obiano’s aide’s, who desired anonymity,
described the transaction as timely. He said the former
governor was “wicked” for tying the state’s funds to
long maturity dates. He praised Obiano for breaking
what he described as “bondage”.
“Have you not been to Awka recently? At least work is
ongoing on three flyovers, which means that the money
Obiano borrowed and the one he realised from the sale
of the bonds are being put into good use”, the aide
said. He urged Obiano to sell the entire savings and
use the proceeds to complete many projects he is
executing, including those he said ”Obi hanged on his
neck as yoke”, to make the people happy.
Media aide to Obi Mr. Valentine Obienyem said both he
and his boss would rather not be drawn into the
matter. ”All I can tell you is that Mr. Peter Obi saved
the money under Anambra’s Future Growth Funds; he
had a vision of a sustainable state.”
The savings Obi left for Obiano have been
controversial. A few weeks ago, both camps engaged
in a war of words following Obiano’s insistence that Obi
left N9 billion in the treasury.
Obi’s camp, which insisted that he left over N50 billion
cash in local currency, said Obiano was merely seeking
justification to squander the funds and to justify his
plan to borrow massively, raise bonds and sell the
state’s savings, including Euro bonds and shares in

From Okoli Sunday PRO, Ministry of Works Awka Many great men have tales of humble beginnings to tell, a fact that buttresses the saying that ‘nothing good comes easy’. More often than not, the tale of grass to grace reflects hardwork, diligence, perseverance and staunch determination! Such is the story of Rtn Ifeanyi Aniagoh, Senior Special Assistant on Social Media to the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano. A man whose story of glory is not just encouraging but also a challenge to many youths. M.O.P (Man Of the People) as he is fondly called, has never waited for opportunities, he grabbed them. He never waited for windfalls, he created them. While others were dreaming with their eyes tightly shut on beds, his dreams followed him everywhere, even on the streets. At quite an early age, M.O.P, realized his ends would not meet if he kept waiting for his struggling parents to do everything for him. He knew he could not forfeit education no matter what his situation dictated, he had to create his own tune and dance to the outcome, he grabbed his fate with both hands and made some life changing decisions that did just that-changed his life. Won numerous awards and has attended countless workshops both within and outside the country. And just recently was among the finalists for the Future Awards Africa. The African awards which celebrates young people between the ages of 18 and 31, who have made outstanding achievements in the year under consideration across Africa. It is easy to look at him and assume that he got lucky in life but those who know his story can vividly give account of how he never gave up but kept pushing. For one who believes in the unity of his people, most importantly the youths, he was honoured with a chieftaincy title of “Igwe Bu Ike” 1 of Omasi Kingdom by HRH Igwe Dr. B.O Okeji of Omasi Kingdom. ‘Igwe bu ike’ in igbo parlance means ‘in unity there is strength’. An entrepreneur per excellence, M.O.P is the founder and owner of Ifeadinmesi Blog ( www.ifeadinmesi.com ), a Pan-Igbo Blog that promotes the Igbo culture and tell its story. He has mentored lots of youths, creating both direct and indirect job opportunities through his numerous grassroots initiatives. He is a proud son of Anambra, the future of Nigeria and Africa emerging entrepreneurial giant. Today, we celebrate him as he continues to motivate and inspire youth across the land. Congratulation Igwe Bu Ike 1
