Drama As Soldier Mistakenly Points Gun At Jonathan By BODE GBADEBO — Jan 16, 2015 | 0 Comments A soldier in the Firing Party at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony in Abuja yesterday almost caused a stir when he mistakenly points his rifle towards President Goodluck Jonathan’s direction. Consequently, presidential guards immediately form a human shield around the President to forestall tragedy. The momentary incident happened shortly after the President and other top government officials took turns to lay wreaths at the foot of the monument of the Unknown Soldier in honour of Nigeria’s fallen heroes. Jonathan, who was in the middle of the two-row firing party, has stood motionless after laying his wreaths at the National Arcade venue of the event. During the traditional 21-gun salute, the lower part of a soldier’s rifle in the Firing Party mistakenly got tucked in his uniform, a situation which prevented him from lifting the rifle to his shoulder level. This situation made the rifle tilted the posture of the soldier which caused the barrel and muzzle of the gun to turn towards Jonathan. A plain clothed security agent standing behind the Firing Party saved the day when he started by correcting the soldier’s skewed posture and thereafter helped in untangling what may have been the lower sling swivel from the soldier’s uniform. Probably oblivious of the happenings around him, President Jonathan appeared calm throughout the 21-gun salute ritual. http://leadership.ng/news/402275/drama-soldier-mistakenly-points-gun-jonathan |
perculiarperson:all we are saying is: thank you Mr. GEJ for all the effort/work you've done to Nigeria. may GOD bless you. its time to go and rest now!!! so that working for nigeria will not finish you. once again thank you, go home and rest |
i like the way d campaigns are going - when PDP/GEJ blast GMB on a particular issue then APC/GMB will provide proof testifying that they not guilty of what they are accused of. thereby making GMB more likely to win d election because d public now see his potentials. - when APC/GMB blast PDP/GEJ on a particular issue, they hardly provide proof to clear their selves, thereby exposing their weakness & inability to rule. |
in my veiw pls, 1. right from the inception of this administration the north drew a line & turned their back on GEJ, they had never in support of him, well few northerners supported GEJ anyway, but they realised their mistake early enough & polled back. it happened that the southern part followed GEJ massively base on religion & regionalism not on "merit" and its now they acknowladge that GEJ cant deliver them to d promise land. 2. PDP as a party has being rulling at the center since 1999 yet there is little or nothing to show as delivered by the party. 3. in life, change is constant. things changes with time, no kingdom shall remain for life-there shall be d begining & d end of EVERY human kingdom. GOD's kingdom only shall remain FOREVER & EVER. had it been PDP conducted presidential primaries, do u think GEJ would have won? the wind of change is blowing now, any attempt to resist it wil only cause serious pain.... |

Using his dictatorial qualities? or doesn't he know that he would have to go through the National Assembly to achieve any of these lofty promises of his.
