To be honest with you, if Nigeria were to be IMF, your country would have died in debt. You were the one that killed Abacha in 1998, right? Well all the British, the Americans and the Australians you worship today used to say you were not human enough to be independent and, by the way, we are talking 70s,80s and early 90s. Talk to those that are a bit older than you when you are able, they would tell you that you never have a base on the Continent of Africa without our money, Thabo Mbeki is still around, talk to him because we accommodated him in Nigeria around this time
We helped you at a time money was no issue in Nigeria. We did it because we saw you and continue to see you as our brothers. We did it because that is who we are. How I wish we are what you call us-chest-beaters. If that has been the case, we would have documented everything we did for you and every naira we spent on you and your country. We would be on television everyday reminding you how we have brought you to where you are today. Have you ever seen us do that?
The question I want you to ask yourself is how many countries have you South Africans helped to free from imperialists on the Continent of Africa? Oh sorry, you are the masters of cash-and-carry military. Young man, Nigeria has been fighting and dying for Africa since the 1950s. How many conflicts have you brought to an end on the Continent of Africa? How many African Presidents have you given refuge so that peace can reign in their countries on the Continent of Africa? I`m asking you because BBC is comparing you to your grandpa in Nigeria.
The problem I have with your country is not just your primitive cockiness, but to be treating your fellow Africans the way you were treated by the whites in your country. Even if they didn`t do as much as Nigeria did for you, all of them played a big role in your eventual freedom. The Nigerians that come to your country are the ones that could not get visas to London and Amsterdam, so your God forsaken country is not the first choice of any educated and intelligent Nigerians. You and your country need to calm down. Enough of your rubbish
You are missing the point...the point is Nigerians should stop acting like if they are the only ones who supported the struggle against apartheid...the presidents of Madagascar and Haiti stayed in SA as refugees for more than ten years,we were involved in Burundi,Sudan ,Lesotho and ivory coast conflicts...currently we are in the DRc...soon our soldiers will be rescuing you from BH..thats how great we are..our president was in your country 2 weeks ago at invitation by your president...your leaders kneeled down begging for SA assistance in different sectors including defence, agriculture, mining ,automotive ,energy etc...but south African leaders never asked anything from Nigeria..except cooperation.personally I dont have any problem with your country, show those artificial muscles to your peers in west Africa.

South Africa needs to refund all the money Nigeria spent to educate them during the Apartheid era, in order to have a proper bragging right. We didn`t just educate them around the world, but also brought them to our higher institutions to educate them, at a time our universities were some of the best in the world. And that is on top of financing their guerrilla fighters around the world They would never have been able to take over from their white masters if we had abandoned them when they were begging us on their kneels. Who is comparing dad and his son? The problem is, when you don`t get the balance of leadership right many rubbish will catch up with you. Everything South Africa is excited about today is handed over to them by somebody. Wait for another 20 years to see where South Africa would be
Anyway, where you have BBC and the World Bank discussing anything Nigerian, their job is to devalue and degrade. Truth is, there is nothing to compare between a grand old dad that has come to wisdom through life experience and a son born with donated silver spoon in his mouth celebrating some flashes in the pan.
Nigeria should also refund all the money spent in the form of bursaries given to Nigerian students studying in our world class universities today....surely if south Africa was not against dictatorship and the abacha regime you would have not been able to attain democracy...favour has been returned...i dont remember hearing of a Nigerian soldier firing a short for the freedom of south African freedom fighters, its official, very soon south African special forces will be deployed in your country to rescue you from BH..we will never make noise about it because we are not the empty chest beaters...just like Tanzanians,Angolans and Zambians who effectively fought for our freedom , they are not boosting abou it..let those who believe that good things only come from the whites be recolonized...we dont think like them, actually we are not them.

You dont need to pay $1 billion to prove you are in our mouse-trap, your $250 million cash for a start as first instalment shows you are our prisoners already, we will wait for MTN to raise the balance of the money because your President Zuma is on his knees begging Buhari in Abuja, we will enjoy the pleasure of watching South Africa stay so long on her knees begging Nigeria for mercy.

Keep paying by instalments, the longer you delay completion of full amount, the longer your humiliated South Africa will stay down on her knees begging Nigeria.....it's fun to humble your rainbow nation in the eyes of the whole world, even Lesotho will not respect RSA anymore ! You are now a colony humbled amd humiliated by us on world stage tonguetongue

Lol...If I were you comrade I would be embarrassed to type things like these...in the first place MTN refused to pay the initial amount, your government reduced it but still MTN refused, ultimately MTN imposed its amount which is still less than the reduced one..who is in charge MTN or the FG? by the way my elder South Africa will do everything in her power to ease things with Nigeria because you are the most exploitable people in the continent...thats why you guys dont mind to boost about a foreign cellular company having the majority of subscribers in your country...where would Nigeria be without SA?

No other African country is using the very standard SA is using to measure poverty lines...the standard used in this scenario is for first world countries,if this measurement can be used on your country, the figure will be beyond 95%..

The reason I am focusing on Nigerians in America, because this is what this topic is about. Nigerian immigrants in America vs African Americans in America. I don't know about Nigerian education culture in Nigeria itself, but again I do know that Nigerians in America for the most part in my experience come from well off families from their country and do not represent the average Nigeria. Again this one Nigerian also told me this. I am aware that Nigerians are in many other countries and I am already aware that they are the top pupils in the UK.

As for the bolded, that is EXACTLY what I am talking about when I say "skrewed numbers". My point is we shouldn't use small successful populations as representation of an entire population whether they are African-American or Nigerian.

For example.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wfbb4pvK3VA

I can easily be like, "SEE! SEE! If these African-Americans can make it big in South Africa then why can't these lazy Black South Africans!huh" Saying this while also ignoring those AA businessmen in South Africa never lived under the brutal apartheid like black South Africans that actually made whites have a headstart compared to those black South Africans. Again this is what this thread is about.
I wanted to say something but let me reserve my comment

Good one. I clicked like in both posts. But bro, you already answered an important question I asked you earlier; whose expertise is used in the building of these infrastructures? If you say black people I'll still ask you who taught them? You say apartheid denied Africans education. Whose education? Why didn't Africans develop their own education but still learned the white man's? We live at their mercy any day anytime.
Do you even know that there are technicians, builders etc who don't have education but are excelling in their jobs...?education started somewhere in the ancient Egypt,go and make research, education was not invented by the whites as you claim..am telling you that in an south African context the apartheid regime denied black people quality education because they did not want to be outshined by blacks, meaning blacks are also capable of doing wonders...by the way you and I will never have consensus on this topic because we grew up in two different countries, you have done mathematics at school in English,I did it in my own language which is isiZulu.

you are obviously lacking in the 'comprehension' department!!

what she is saying is that - some ignorant black people have been so brainwashed that they don't even know what it means to be black. how can you be in africa and you are setting weave standards at an african pageant? that is the most ignorant and aloof thing i have heard in years. They obviuosly don't know their own history and what the weave stands for in black history.

OP, please rock your braids to anywhere you can and be proudly black and african!!
According to Mercy, a white person was one of those 4 interrogated her...why is she only calling blacks all sorts of names?so if the rules of that organization uniquely want models with weaves on their heads ,were they supposed to change their rules in order to please a pure African girl?...by the way beauty pageants are western things therefore those who think are too African should just focus on something else...I nearly forgot to tell you that your comprehension on this topic is magnificent.

Very sincere answer. Forget about my country Nigeria. We are lost already. My only hope is that you south Africans will see the usefulness of the white man until you are capable of handling things yourself.

What is my ultimate point? My point is that we blacks are down the rung of the intellectual evolutionary process. If you will be patient enough to go through the beginning of this thread you'll find out why I posited that the black man has a problem.

The OP was of the opinion that it's the devil that manufacture luxurious commodities. The argument started off because I pointed out his error in that statement; while the white man is making things easier people like the OP are accusing them of being in league with the devil. But he's using the internet manufactured by the white man in league with the devil.

I'm proud of my African heritage (not proud of being a Nigerian). But that cannot stop me from stating the obvious.
We are handling things ourselves...south Africa is governed by ANC policies, white people are sitting on the opposition benches opposing every good development the black man is bringing in,they don't want to see blacks achieving greater things thats why they denied us quality education during the apartheid regime...we are in the 21th century, the time of selling black children to the west for slavery is over...we can do like them, that's all.

Same applies to you..who is building your railway network?Chinese...who is building your malls? South Africans..who is behind the eko antlantic project?Europeans....you know what?I know it is hard for some of you guys to accept some of the positives coming from the south understandably so because you believe blacks are incapable of doing things...white people are working as experts in our mines not because blacks are incapable but because the apartheid regime favoured them, same with farming..but young black south africans are entering those fields slowly but surely....China and south Africa are working together in building trains in SA as per Brics skills sharing agreement..many young black south Africans are involved in this project...comrade negative things that you read on internet about black south Africans because of some few criminals perpetuating xenophobia will just make you clueless...

South Africa is what she is because of her mineral resources ,without these things nothing the whites would have done...white people were there in Nigeria, what did they do?they were there in Zimbabwe ,Kenya and all over the continent...the thing is these countries could not be developed to the same level with SA because their mineral resources did not match those of SA...if the whites did leave SA in 1960 ,South Africa would have been much better that what she is today, remember our minerals would have remained with us,do you know why am saying this,we are very ambitious and believe we can outshine the white race,we live with them ,we know their strong points and weaknesses...thats why we went far as hosting Fifa world cup when many believed it was not an African thing...yes I gree with you when you say the whites set a good foundation but do you think that if black south Africans had the mentality of saying good things come only from the whites ,we were going to talk about things like speed train and other massive developments which were not there prior 94?I don't think so.

Crime, HIV and AIDS has made south Africa a joke from what it used to be. Corruption is creeping into the south African government. 99 percent of the infrastructure in south Africa was built by the apartheid regimes. Google can help you with the rest information you wish to know.

The simple truth; the black man is not capable of governing himself. Maybe in another 100 years but as of today I agree with Donald Trump; black Africa should be re colonized.
If you want white people to recolonize your country, don't include us...you are talking about aids and crime as if they are immune in your country...Before 1994 only 34 % of households in SA were electrified, after 1994 20 years down the line 92% of households were electrified,if Nigerian authorities failed to achieve this in 50 years, south African authorities did in 20 years..currently South Africa is building new trains to replace the old ones coupled with an existing speed train network which was not there before 1994...our Nigerian friends are waiting for the British recolization to achieve somethings like these..Today south African airports are counted amongst the best, all thanks to the black government of SA..we maintain our roads and build the new ones...our very own Tokyo Sexwale is among the contenders of the FIFA presidency seat..a Nigerian football official was quoted saying:This man wants to embarrass us Africans, how can he compete against inyibos..lol.....our beautiful infrastructures giving you sleepless nights were not there prior 94,that's my point, remember we are not mentally colonized like you and we don't see ourselves as one of you, painful truth.

mercy1998:
As a young aspiring model who grew up in the streets of South Africa with a nigerian last name life has not been so easy for me. I've always entered school beauty pageants and won most of them now I entered one of the biggest beauty pageant at our Varsity.

The story begins like this: you enter the competition online you send your details including a face picture and body picture so I sent my pictures but on my pictures that I sent I had a weave so they accepted my application and called me for an interview. I went to the interview with my braids to my suprise I found four judges Two Black ladies one white lady and a gay black guy. They opened my application and questioned my surname and said it sounds foreign I explained to them that my dad is from Nigeria immediately when I told them that they asked to see my passport I told them that I have an ID document I'm a valid citizen of South Africa I grew up here. I'm sure in their minds they thought I came illegally and probably bought the ID I felt offended by the look in their eyes. I asked myself how can an African person look down on another African Child.

The offensive comments kept on continuing when they asked how am I nigerian if I'm light skinned? Do I use bleaching creams or any other thing to make myself light? I was really offended just because I have nigerian genes does not mean I have to be dark my mom is South African not dark at all even my dad is not so dark so I has to show them my parents pictures.

One of the judges even said my braids look dirty and no girl come to a competition with braids I should get a Weave. I told her that Braids are my African identity I feel so real when I have them on when I have a weave I feel uncomfortable and it's really itchy.

Some South African people look down on other African Countries and their people it's actually sickening to see Black people judge me on my Blackness. so I should conform to the norm of having a weave and wearing lots of make up? Because I'm nigerian I'm automatically dark and a thief? They think they are white people forgetting that Whited actually hate them.

Took some selfies with my braids
The content clearly tells that this thread was created to invite insults to be directed on South Africans as usual... I know of some young Nigerian women who are in the books of different south African modelling urgencies, some don't even have proper papers but do participate in the pageants..there is a thread on this forum of a young Nigerian model who won the beauty pageant held in SA,she went as far as parading her medal on the streets of lagos, she has been registered as a model in SA...Miss Lady, its easy to point fingers at other people, you sound xenophobic yourself...am very sure that nobody looked down on you but yourself did.
