You graduated "top class" in 2010 did your Masters in 2011 and went further to do an m.phil? come on bro, how come you could not get the 60 average after Masters hence the m.phil if really you graduated "top class" like you want us to believe? I know Fanatics would say im hating but im just being observant. CONGRATS ATS.

No, you are not hating; just that you, probably did not get the information being passed across correctly. He had his first degree in year 2006, did his Master's in year 2010.The M.Phil he went for still does not put his academic prowess into doubt;you can check out this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Philosophy and scroll down. You will see this : "Cambridge University offers the M.Phil. as a one-year master's degree program.[19] This is to distinguish it from the Cambridge M.A. degree, to which B.A. graduates usually proceed after a certain period of time without any further study (a procedure which has been followed at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge and Dublin since the seventeenth century). The Cambridge M.Phil. can be either a taught degree or a research-based degree, depending on the course." Now, an M.Phil makes one to be more grounded in research work if one desires to transit to full PhD;it does not necessarily mean the inability of a person to measure up with the required M.Sc criteria to directly transit to PhD programme.

To keep the story short, really?
That place you kept short was the main story, every other thing you said was self glorification. There's no way a bus conductor will have the money and the time to go through university unless he stole a passenger's money and then stopped from conductor's work and followed his dream. You cannot do both. Just tell us one thing good happened yo you and you had the money. Or just keep your story to yourself. Many people started small but don't deceive with your story.

Thanks got hiding the truth. It will still come out some day

If you had watched the video( time of 3:26-3:40), you, probably, would not have made the statement above. He made some savings from his menial jobs and also got support from his step sister and her husband. These combined, provided sources of fund for his undergraduate studies. The cost of doing a Master's in Nigeria is cheaper than that of a B.Sc. After completing his B.Sc ,he may get a scholarship(even from organization(s) in Nigeria here) for his Master's or decide to work and fund the Master's programme himself

Great, inspiring.

You failed to tell us how u got the money to finance ur education, is it the money u saved from being a conductor

If you watched the video( time of 3:26-3:40), it was said that he made some savings from his menial job and he was also supported by his step sister and her husband to fund her undergraduate studies. You will agree with me that is much easier to fund post graduate studies in Nigeria than undergraduate studies.

Thank you Jesus! To God Almighty be all glory, honour and adoration. Visa APPROVED few minutes ago. Remember ProfOjah's friend delayed the day ProfOjah was approved.

Congrats, bro, on your approved visa! If you would not mind, we may relate;I am also heading to Middle Tennessee State University, together with two other compatriots whose visa have also been approved. In the next coming days, two other guys admitted into MTSU will also be going for their interview; it's going to be a "full house". Many shout out to our MTSU senior men out there; @kenkool, Djmakson, Phakus, Sahid(Ashiwaju) and to others schooling in Tennessee : Oludare01, Texrem,et al.

Firstly, I want to appreciate the Almighty GOD for giving an individual, Seun Osewa, a thought to create an informative forum like this,Nairaland. My big thank you also goes to GUNTHER6 for opening my eyes to the schooling opportunities in the U.S. I never knew until I met him ,through Nairaland. We later met at Iyana-Ipaja in July last year when he was to help me with a GRE voucher. Actually, I wanted to write the GRE in order to meet up with the requirement of FH Aachen, a university in Germany. I had the intention of schooling in Germany before GUNTHER6 made me to understand I could spend less , in U.S, if offered a Graduate Assistantship with a monthly stipend. Immediately I heard this, I started conducting a research about schools in the US, their admission requirements and how to go about funding.
Fast forward to today, I got to the embassy at about 6:10am, kept my bag with a lady towards the entrance of the gate for a fee of #1000( I was actually prepared for it). She helped me with the correct arrangement of documents and told me to join the queue. Security checks took place and documents were inspected; with a barcode glued to the back of my passport. Inside the interview room , biometric documentation was done and I later joined the queue for the interview. I must confess that the processes and procedures before the interview were very thorough.
Here goes the conversation between the Visa Officer ( a lady in window 7) and I:
VO: Good morning (with smiles)
ME: Good morning ( I smiled back at her)
VO: Please, pass me your I-20 and passport
ME: Here they are.
VO: So, you are going to Middle Tennessee State University?
ME: Yes, madam.
VO: What other schools did you apply to?
ME: I applied to three other schools and got admitted in all the schools.
VO: Really? So, why this particular one( referring to Middle Tennessee State University)?
ME: One of my career mentors, Engr. Ad…. , who is also the Factory Engineer of “Blank” Nigeria PLC, where I work as an Industrial Technician, strongly recommended the school for me because he is an alumnus of the school and he told me how attending the school has given his career a lift. Besides, MTSU provides experiential learning opportu…..(cuts in..it’s ok)
VO: What is your highest qualification?
ME: Bachelor of Science in Electrical- Electronics Engineering
VO: When did you graduate?
ME: 2015
VO: What have you been doing since then?
ME: I have been working as an Industrial Technician with “Blanck” Nigeria PLC
VO: Tell me, how are you going to fund your studies?
ME: I have got a full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend through a Graduate Assistantship awarded to me by my department( VO Checks my I-20 and cuts in….. )
VO: It does not cover all your fees.
ME: Yes, the outstanding fee will be taken care of by my dad
VO what does he do.
ME: I told her.
VO: Where are you going to stay when you arrive in US?
ME: I have not made any arrangement for now.
VO: Okay, I will be approving your visa……….
The truth is I promised myself to listen to those words people here do claim not to hear again upon the approval of their visa, but alas, I fell for this “temporary deafness” as well! I couldn’t hear anything again immediately I sighted her circling a portion of the white paper. All that was in my mind was to grab the white paper together with my I-20 and bounce out(LOL). No document was requested . My observation about this interview thing is that the VOs want to see that you are a genuine student. Again, there should not be any discrepancy in the information filled in DS-160 and your response. Confidence, eye contact ,being able to express oneself well are all very important .The very few seconds of interaction ,at times, could be key in determining what the outcome will be.
My appreciation goes to all the contributors in this thread.I may not be able to mention all the monikers here but thanks to Lagosimyhome,Walspring,Femi32,Texrem ,Djmakins, the GRE thread contributors… et all.
My special regards goes to @ Kenkool, who is now an alumnus of MTSU. He has been there for me during the time of application process and he did play a brotherly role through the relevant information he gave .I will not forget in a hurry his contributions in ensuring that the departmental Graduate Assistantship position did not elude me.
For those who may need this information, I will be doing my Master’s in Engineering Technology and here goes my profile( not in any way stellar):
ND, HND and B.Sc ( all in Electrical-Electronics Engineering with an overall GPA of 3.50/4.0 after an official WES evaluation). GRE score is 301( Q 152, Verb 149, AWA 3.5) after I wrote it again; while I had a score of 87 in my TOEFL .
Please, pardon me; an epistle it is!

Truth be told, Germany is the best option for individuals who are not that financially buoyant, but can still afford to fund the blocked account. I was once in this " schooling in Germany race" ;had admissions in almost all the schools I applied to. However, the sudden fall in naira( many thanks to the LORD for its gradual recovery) made me to think otherwise; because initially I had a budget of about 2.2M before this drastic fall of naira.Again, payment through FormA at that period(2015-2016 Winter admission) was not as available as it used to be and it was taking a longer time than necessary, so , people were funding their accounts through the "black" or the "blue" market which made the overall expenses more on the high side. Considering all these challenges, I sought for information and discovered that I could still school in the US and spend less than the amount obtainable in Germany if I could write standardized tests ( GRE and TOEFL) and get a Graduate Assistantship which often comes with full tuition waiver [which makes it equivalent to the German deal( tuition free in this aspect)] and a monthly stipend[ a better deal because you will be working in the school and achieve two things( money and experience)]. Getting this information, I swang into action, wrote the GRE and TOEFL, sent my transcripts for credential evaluation (used WES) and got a Graduate Assistantship. With this GA offer, one does not need to spend up to 1.5M again including your flights expenses.

The reason I am writing this here is to let some aspiring students(Postgraduate) who never knew that it is possible to study in the US without paying the real huge amount of money involved. This is possible in as much as these good factors are there: GPA, GRE, language score( usually TOEFL, IELTS),statement of purpose, recommendations. Any individual that has those things up there but do not have the financial wherewithal to fund the blocked account can consider the US.

As regards visa denial at the US embassy, most often than not, it boils down to not being able to show that one is indeed a true prospective student traveling to the US and inconsistencies in the form filled online and the answers provided during the interview.German embassy also normally denies students who are not articulate about their reasons for going to Germany, which is not a bad thing, if I were asked.

To those in the know, is there any form of binding agreement between the Federal Government and successful scholars to return immediately after the completion of studies?I am asking because some successful scholars might want to have a bit of work experience abroad, either within academic environment or other industries to further strengthen their overall worth. The adventurous ones may even want to settle down and begin a new life after their programmes. Can those in the know share their lines of thought(either based on direct experience or otherwise) on this inquiry!

... To the great minds in this wonderful thread, I salute. I will be re-writing my GRE first week of February next year; the first one I wrote was in August this year; had less than three weeks for preparation due to the nature of my job( manufacturing/ factory settings things). Of course, the result was abysmal(Verb: 147, Q 148, AW: 3.0), though I was able to secure admission into MTSU and North Carolina A & T( for the Spring Term) without funding . Now,I am planning on going on annual leave this January in order to have every second that counts to myself before the exam day.I do believe that with the priceless information available in here, a better performance should be achieved. My concern is whether the result will still be "useful" for the Fall Term admission, not also forgetting funding opportunities.I need advise in this regard and also some safe schools I can apply to with funding. I am going for M.Sc in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Control/Robotics. Here is my profile:
B.sc, Elect/Elect( 4.08/5)
HND, Elect/Elect(3.30/4)
ND, Elect/Elect(3.28/4.)
The WES evaluation is in the pipeline.

Greetings to everyone in the house. I need the advice of the gurus here concerning my admission and chances for scholarship opportunities or funding. Here is my profile:B.Sc Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a CGPA of 4.08/5.00.Using the WES evaluation and conversion, it became 3.41/4.00. The challenge I am having right now has to do with my poor GRE score. I actually had a poor preparation for the exam; spent about three weeks for studying due to the nature of my present job.Truth be told,I should have taken my time to study very well before writing the test, but the need to meet up with admission deadlines of most schools for Spring 2017 made me act otherwise.I was able to put together a total of 295( Verb:147, Quant 148);too poor! I have always believed that a very good GRE, score added to my CGPA( which is not that bad) and my years of professional experience may land me at least some form of partial financial assistance(funding) .Aside the B.Sc, I also have HND and OND in the same field with a CGPA of 3.30/4.00 and 3.28/4.00 respectively without the WES evaluation.

Considering this low GRE score now, what do you think I can do? Are there schools in U.S that look at other factors( such as CGPA, years of professional experience, other colleges attended with certificates, etc) beside a very good GRE score to provide some levels of funding? The reason this enquiry is being made has to do with the fact that I will be largely relying on financial support(funding)for this dream of studying M.Sc in U.S, and Fall 2017 looks like the next two decades to me.

Please, great people, before the official closure of this part, help me do justice to this .

I really had enough time for "her" the day I made comments in this thread. The truth is that "she" makes things complicated for "herself" each time "she" tries to cover-up a lie. What baffles me is that people that have responded after "she" posted some documents online only focused on how genuine or not the documents are. Yes,this should be of great concern;but I think we need to understand the concept of " first thing first." The first thing she ought to do was to post the required certificates she claimed to have acquired and not some ID cards, O'level certificate, Course registration form, plaque and all stuffs(which, initially, were never part of what 'she' promised to post ). Since nobody pointed her attention to this, she started feeling vindicated that she has done the needful. The issue of B.SC in BioChemistry never came out until I dug it out from her FB page and she never denied it ; thereby making "her" B.SC add up to three. Funny enough, she later "converted" the B.SC BioChemistry to a REMEDIAL Programme. For the purpose of record, the following documents ONLY need be uploaded.I still want to reiterate that you are not under any obligation to upload your documents online, but since you desperately want to prove your innocence, then ,I will suggest you do it right by posting the following certificates ONLY:
1. Diploma in English and Literary Studies
2. B.SC in English and Literary Studies
3. B.SC in Economics
4. Certificate or result issued after the Completion of the REMEDIAL programme in BioChemistry
5. B.SC in BioChemistry
6. M.SC( in a yet to be identified field)
Anything short of these will only affirm the insinuations of people about you,the OP.

hmmm..
At least somebody reasonable has given me a chance to set my self straight...

I did my diplomat for 2years as a NCe student then applied for a bsc student in my third year ..
The university I.e unical accepted me as a direct entry student and after a year i came out with my bsc...

I decided against doing my msc full time because eng and lit isn't so business opportuned...

I now had admission to study econs in the same unical and since then i havent looked back at all...
I recently graduated with a 2"1 in econs which i can display for everyone to see..

One guy asked for evidence of my payslip and all..
I am ready to provide in other to clear my name...

I am just tired of the whole scenario dear...
Not everyone is dishonest

I have sent a mail to see the proofs.Yes, you are not under any obligation to do this ,but it will go a long way in laying to rest every shadow of doubt. However, pending the reply from you, I want to express my reservations about your claims here. If the NCE you mentioned is the one I know, then I will say that an NCE is obtained either in the College of Education after three years or through the National Teachers' Institute(NTI). An NCE student has an NCE certificate not a Diploma Certificate. Besides, if you gain admission into the University via Direct Entry for a four-year course with either NCE or Diploma ,then you will spend a minimum of six semesters(three years); starting from two hundred level. If it is a five-year course and you have NCE or Diploma you will spend a minimum of eight semesters(four years). Now for a holder of HND going for a five-year course via Direct Entry, you will spend a minimum of six semesters(three years);starting from three hundred level.Even for a four-year course, a Holder of HND will spend a minimum of four semesters(two years). Except you enrolled for a special top-up up programme(as a holder of HND which you are not) ,which UNICAL is not running, you will never graduate just after a year via a Direct Entry Admission into the University. How do I know this? I am a holder of ND,HND and B.ENG so I know all these.
Now, which field of study did you have your M.Sc in? Your admission for Economics, was it through Direct Entry via the previous Diploma or B.SC in English and International relations? Was it run concurrently with your M.Sc or after your M.Sc?
Again, I observed from your facebook account that you studied BioChemistry from UNICAL. Do you have a B.SC in three fields?

Hey dear, nobody is twisting anything here. You said you ran a Diploma before you gained admission into the tertiary institution, wright? Now, what was the academic qualification you were given at the end of the Diploma programme? You can never be awarded a B.Sc degree when you ran a diploma programme.Of course in one of the emboldened statement you made before now, you said you have a B.SC in English and Literary studies ,which cannot be true based on the fact that you ran a diploma programme here in Nigeria. If the B.SC in English and Literary studies has not crept-in in your previous post, I would have assumed that you initially had a Diploma before proceeding to the University for a B.Sc in Economics.
Besides, it is more important to iron out these issues: (1) Diploma in English and Literary Studies before you gained admission into tertiary institution (2) B.SC in English and Literary Studies (3) B.SC in Economics
The only proof you have to make is to explain these contradictions.
