La liga is crap? How then do you explain Arsenal that were unbeaten in the EPL being eliminated by Valencia in the champions league? Or a Villareal who in their first ever champions league appearance made it to the semis and took Arsenal down the wire?
That Barcelona won 8-0 doesnt mean the La liga is crap, it only shows the strength of Barca.
Messi retired Del Horno from Chelsea, scored against United and single handedly wrecked Arsenal. I can only imagine what he will do to the likes of Wigan and Blackburn.

@topic. Wait last time I check Morocco is in West Africa , there may be a lot of creme there but the foundation is chocolate . The post pretty much answered the question. In track/field East Africans dominate because they are natives to flat land/ plains. Thousands of years living there required them to do the long distance running as a means of migration or hunting so they have adapted to that environment which is evident in their slender, long leg build (their strength being in the lower half of the body mostly). West Africans/Central Africans are more stockier and muscular as they did not have to do much long distant running and were more physical than their eastern African counterparts. As Usain Bolt (Jamaican track star of West African descent) illustrated, W. Africans are short distant runners which is approx. the same distance as the the football field (or maybe longer depending on the individual's fitness) so no hard running is required and the built of W.Africans allow them more flexibility with the lower halves of their bodies just as well as their abdomens. So in essence. . .

Because West African players make up the bulk of an award doesnt mean they are the dominant force on the continent, that to me is North Africa. 1994 was the last time a West African nation won the nations cup. That is 16 years ago. North African nations have won the nations cup 5 times in the last 16 years.
If you also look at the CAF Champions League, the last time a club from a West African nation won it was in 2004. Clubs from North African nations have won it 4 times in the last 6 years.
North Africa is clearly the dominant region when it comes to football in Africa
