no one is even considering that Benitez has had to work with a depleted Inter side. Many key players are out injured e.g Cambiasso and he was a core member of the team that won the treble. Milito who in my opinion was the heart of the Inter team that won the treble only recently got back from and is still seriously lacking match fitness. Sneijder after a hectic season is not at his best. He even passed out in one the games and of course Waltes Samuel just joined the list. Would Mourinho have fared any better under this circumstance? I don't think so. Let's not forget that this Inter team only last season swept everything that was on offer and as such the hunger of last season is not really there anymore. Anyway, one thing Benitez has achieved is that Inter are a more watchable side now. They pass the ball around, lots of flair in the side now. Inter were incredibly boring though very effective last season. He has brought in Bibiany and Coutinho into the side and those two have been like the biggest revelations in Europe this season |
I was quite young then so I didnt really feel it plus we had the NITEL land phone too. Besides, the university I graduated from does not allow the use of phone. . . |

dipo2much:how else should a league's competitiveness be judged if not based on how the fare amongst teams from other leagues? Why do you think La Liga, Serie A are rated above the Turkish league or the Dutch league if not based on how they have performed overtime in Europe? In 2000, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia all played in the champions league semis. Real Madrid and Valencia played in the final with Real winning 3-0. Valencia also played in the following season's CL final, losing on penalties to Valencia. As for the Europa League, don't EPL teams participate in it, why is it only La Liga teams dominating it |
La Liga teams have won 6 champions league trophies trophies in the last two decades, EPL have won just 3. There's no season that a La Liga team doesnt make it to the semi-finals of the champions league. If the La Liga is very uncompetitive then the EPL is non existent. La Liga teams have won 4 Europa League titles since 2000. The last time an EPL team won a Europa League trophy is 2001. When was the last time a team outside the EPL big 4 win something in Europe? Sevilla, Atletico and Valencia, Zaragoza have all won continental titles |
