..........................UPDATE............................

so I went for the scan as my gyna recommended and it's still the same! No heartbeat and the EGA is 10wks 1day against 12wks 2days.

My gyna says to come for evacuation as soon as possible!

My question is

1. Please mamas that have gone through this procedure how much is it?

2. What and how is it done?

3.What should I expect during and after the procedure?

I want to have all the necessary details before going in for it.

Thanks for your support and prayers!

Attached is the pics of the scan
So sorry for your loss. U ll be back soon.

For your questions

1) I did mine in a private hospital in Lagos 25k. Earlier this year.

2) not to scare you but when I got to the theatre and saw all the equipments I was too afraid. The doctor was just cleaning my Jajania but I was shaking too much. (I'm naturally scared of hospital things). So he said the way I was going I might cause him to injure me when he starts proper and offered to knock me off(put me to sleep). I agreed to that and that's all I could remember till I woke up about 1hour later and I was informed the procedure was over. I rested a while in d hospital and went home same day.

3. I was given antibiotics and some drugs.

I hope this helps. All the best

It is well with you and your baby. Only the counsel of the Lord shall stand. We will all carry to full term. Amen

Thanks for d advise but I don't know if 18 weeks is late. D person I know did hers before 18 weeks.

We pray for God to guide our doctors to make d right decision

Chijiuche:
Is 18 weeks not too late...Cerclage is usually done between 12-14 weeks. There are risks but they rarely occur like premature contraction, membrane rupture, cervical infection, cervical laceration and cervical dystocia. For twins, it is always recommended due to the pressure of having double weight on your pelvic can cause incompetence cervix. But my fear is the 18 weekhuh - I am thinking is late though but you can try and seek another advice of a good gynecologist before embarking on that.

My first Gynecologist recommended that for me at 12 week because of my previous evacuations though MC has always been first trimester loss ...I researched comprehensively on that and went and seek second opinion from the Gyneo higher Boss and he told me is not needed since i can minimize stress. I am 25 weeks now and they keep checking and my cervix has always been closed.

Seek another opinion and if it is already late, just follow your gyno advice and minimize stress, dont carry heavy loads, take enough rest and you will be fine. You can confide in your line manager that you are pregnant and doctor advised you minimized stress so they can support you. My elder sister birthed twins and carried it full term with no cerclage. My colleague in my workplace is currently 34 weeks with Triplet. DOnt worry if it is late, you can do it

Mamas I'm back again o.

After second opinion from another Dr he said my babies and I are doing fine but he is suggesting cerclage as a preventive measure cos of the pressure and the nature of my job ( requires moving around a lot). I'm 18 weeks today and I've been scheduled to come for the procedure tomorrow morning and I'm so worried if it's not too late or of I should just forget about it.

Help a worried mum to be.
I have a cousin who had twins and equally did a cerclage and she was fine. I don't think its anything to worry about. She was only advised to avoid sex, standing for long and carrying heavy items.

The babies stayed till full term. She said its a simple procedure. Pls follow ur doctor's advice
