I am really grateful to God for seeing me through this journey and spoilt all the plans of d enemy. Due to a previous loss I was a bit paranoid and being too careful this time.
Pls pardon dis pregnancy story and not just birth story. Its my testimony.

I had no MS just some food aversions. Fast forward to 13 weeks and I had a cerclage on to close the mouth of d cervix as a preventive measure (because of history).

At 17 weeks during routine antenatal urine test, my sugar level was very high and I was sent for different test. They concluded I had GDM ( gestational diabetes). I was placed on insulin injection twice a day for the rest of the pregnancy. I was closely monitored and had to watch my diet.

Fast forward to 25 weeks and I started bleeding at midnight, was rushed to d hospital and I was told my placenta was low lying. I was placed on complete bed rest, 2 days later d bleeding increased, I was told I might have to let d baby go for me to survive but I held on to God for a miracle. After 1 week of rest, d bleeding stopped and was discharged after 2 weeks at d hospital.
The Drs plan was to keep me till delivery but I pleaded with dem before I was discharged.
I had scan done frequently and d placenta was going up.

At 32 weeks I noticed d weight of d baby wasn't much, at 35 weeks noticed reduction in baby's movement. I taught d space in d womb was small for much movement but mentioned it at 36 wks antenatal. Started stooling days later, hubby insisted I went to d hospital. I started shaking seriously in d hospital n scan showed baby's weight was 2.2kg, too small for 36 wks.

I had an emergency cs that night because of d reduced movement n wat they noticed during scan. My prince came out strong n crying, weighing 2.1kg. I thank God that with the weight he didn't need incubator or have complications.

I give all glory to God for seeing me through.

I stay at Pako. How are the doctors at jolad? Hope the service is great?. This is my first child

R Jolad is a nice hospital but I would advise u also register in govt hospital since its ur first.

I used dem for my first on HMO but they didn't do routine urine test. I didn't get to see a gynaecologist just regular Dr and because of the urine test they didn't conduct I had 2nd trimester loss.

In this other pregnancy where there was routine urine test, something was discovered early n I have been managing it well.

So my advise is since its ur first and you don't have pregnancy history, u can register in government hospital or always make sure ur urine is checked every antenatal.

okay,thanks for the feedback,pls how is the registration process,I was there today and I was asked to come back on friday

Registration is only on Fridays. 2k(or 1500) to open antenatal file. Go as early as u can, maybe 7:30/8, to be attended to early.

U ll also pay 1500 dat day for PVC and blood test. U ll also see d Dr dat day.

D Dr ll give u ur next appointment based on how far ur pregnancy is. Ur regular antennal after dat will either be a Monday or Tuesday. D doctors ll decide that.

Every other appointment u ll spend at least 2000. 500 to get ur file n see Dr, 1500 for d pcv n urine test.

able mamas in house. May we all deliver safely in Jesus name.

I was scared of the brown spotting not stopping since 6weeks gestation so last week Wednesday, I went to emergency at the general hospital I registered and got admitted immediately for threatened miscarriage. Since Wednesday, I'm just on lexotan 1.5mg and bed rest while I did blood, hvs and urinalysis. The blood test showed negative malaria parasite and other test was available this evening. No b.p., no pain, just little brown blood stain when I pee. Today I did scan and the baby is growing perfectly at 17weeks, normal heartbeat, adequate amniotic fluid and anterior placenta.
What's bothering is I'm not seeing changes. The senior doctor prescribed vasoprin and duvaston before the test was available today. I learnt the vasoprin is for blood pressure which the nurse said my bp is between 83 - 95 and it's normal.

Sorry for the long post, here are the test result and the prescription. Does it correlate to threatened miscarriage or I should wait for another doctor because different doctors are just coming with different view.

Pls help me mention those who know about medical.

I was placed on vasoprin on one of my antenatal visits. My bp has always been normal. I suspect I was given because of family history of bp but d Dr didn't tell me even when I asked.

But when I started bleeding, a nurse advised me to stock taking it because it thins d blood n I should confirm from a Dr. I asked d snr Dr that prescribed it and he said I should discontinue because of d spotting.

I experienced bleeding at 8weeks, so I was placed on progesterone injection till I was 13 weeks gone. I was told to be on bed rest and no sex all thru pregnancy

Mine was partial previa not complete placenta previa.

Be positive, it should go up as ur pregnancy progreses

Thank you for d explanation. Mine was detected after i started bleeding at 25 weeks. Dr just says I should hope it goes up during d course of pregnancy.

Did u experience bleeding?
Where you on bed rest?

Mine isn't covering d cervix at all but just close to it.

Mine was detected at 16weeks, so we had to do like 3 scans in the course of pregnancy (24weeks, 28 weeks and 36weeks) to see if the placenta had moved.
As at the36th week scan, it had still not moved, hence my baby was breech all thru.
Since it was my first pregnancy, my gynae adviced I have an elective CS at 37weeks cos of the risks associated with going into labour with placenta previa.

I had my baby via CS at 37wks 2days

Pls sis how did u deal with d placenta periva?

I had something like that while I was pregnant, but the Dr said it was cos of my baby's positiin. She was breech all thru my pregnancy cos of placenta previa so she was changing positions anyhow

At some point I started getting scared of the pain, but it was fine.

Their facilities r very good n modern. Environment is very very neat. It doesn't even smell like a hospital and they have good Drs and consultants.

Plus to me their fees r affordable

I think you can start with basic necessities especially if u r a FTM like overalls(Onesis), bathset, flannel, cap, socks etc.

Cappo sorry for the pcv issue. What I suggest that has worked for me and some people i know is eating one boiled egg everyday.

I will advise you try it.
