Hello, please I was actually going through google to see if I can get some help and I saw your topic on nairaland.
I need to ask you please Cos I saw this topic about maize cultivation. I have a little vegetable garden that I planted maize. It has been growing very well and healthy until caterpillar starting eating up the the leaves and the shoots all through.
I've been so sad about it as this happen to be my very first time of my cultivating anything.
Is there any chemical you know that can help me kill those caterpillars without causing any damage to my crops please
Thanks

Yes there are. I may not be able to give you specific names because I am not an expert but I will advise you to go to the Ministry of Agriculture office in your state for help. They have a lot of info and resources to help farmers and you can trust their experience. I was surprised at the level of support I got in my own farm from them.

Of course. The volumes being smuggled out of the country have drastically reduced because the incentive has been removed.

I think it is time for me to retire from JIJO for the year. I'm going back to my long term buy and hold strategy. I will be hunting for value stocks from now on. The adrenaline involved in JIJO is something else! God bless you JIJO masters!

Oga Megainvest ,

I have been doing some UCAP DD based on this article

http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/05/26/united-capital-gains-n1-5bn-from-sale-of-insurance-firm/

"The purchase consideration for the shares in United Metropolitan Nigeria Life amounted to N3.25 billion and the transaction closed on 10 May, 2016. United Capital realised a capital gain of N1.5 billion from the transaction"

If as at Dec 2015, the carrying value of Met Life was already N2.2b and they sell for N3.2b then the gain is supposed to be only N1bn not N1.5bn. (also note that this calculation does not involve the increase in carrying value as at Q1 2016 from associate share of profit)

Do you think their half year results will be then be as spectacular as the yoots are hoping?

(I dey fear a case of the more you look, the less you see)

You may be right. Let's wait for H1 result.

The oando deal is good news for the banks involved. This may be a signal that a bank like FCMB will have a better loan book with lower NPL in Q2 result.

Pls does anybody here know the specific individuals / companies owing Skye bank?

@ DeRuggedProf you are right.

The market is very unpredictable. Anything can happen overnight and the stock will change course right before your eyes. Unity movement is because TUC said they want to acquire 57% (or so) of the bank. Any news can hit the market tonight and another stock will take off just like that cheesy

i dont think unity bank is going anywhere yet.this is just gragra.with time, they will get back to their park to change some bolts and nuts, which i believe will take them some time ,to get done with

Before then some fortunate ones would have chopped and cleaned mouth. 20% profit is top class performance in this bear.

This appears like putting the cart before the horse , why not have a detailed exchanged rate policy first before seeking international investors and use the opportunity to answer the questions/concerns that may have risen due to the new policy.

http://nairametrics.com/ta-signals-suggest-its-probably-time-to-buy-or-sell-these-stocks/

Ugodre's tech analysis suggests that UCAP is weakening. I tend to agree this may be true in the short term but not so for long.

This is not for the faint hearted. Do your DD.

jus wanna ask forex trading and stocks which is more profitable

"Stocks" is the most profitable business I know of on earth but it is also very risky!

If you look closely, most of the richest men and women on the planet today have something to do with stocks. Dangote is a master of stocks.

Which other expo do we need from them?

1. They have already exceeded their 2015 profit by half year.
2. Their business model is hardly affected by any major shifts in monetary policy.
3. Even if the stock market goes bust, they will still make money because they make more money from volatility.
4. No major exposures to the most risky sectors of the economy.
5. Excellent dividend payment history to date.

Nna men na chop I dey for this one.
