The thing with a good result is that even if there are short term disruptions, the effect of the good news will be positive over the longer term.

@Transcorp, I guess the plan is to create another Skye scenario... Reverse monkey hunting loading. We must make money this year, bull or bear!

Meanwhile, so many companies have joined this "profit warning" bandwagon!

Let me share a little of my investment knowledge to help us in understanding business models.

These are some aspects of a company you should watch out for. They include: "Cash Engine" and "Growth Engine". Cash as they say is king. Check out the ability of the company you are interested in to continue generating raw cash. Also look at the ability of the company to keep growing its profits and assets by way of investment. For example, banks can generate instant raw cash by increasing customer deposits, direct bank charges on value added services etc. They also have a growth engine which includes their investments and marketing.

Whenever a company posts results, look at these figures and see where the company is heading. When you know this, you an easily see the difference between APR and UCAP investment models for example. You can also see why some insurance companies are not doing badly also.

AIICO did not only made profit.
With 20kobo earnings per share compared to 11kobo same time last year on a 70kobo SP as at today's market closing.

On top of that still having cash and cash equivalent of over 8billion naira!!!

That is an outstanding result given the current economic headwinds.

They suppose declare interim dividend sef if their Directors no dey stingy grin grin grin grin

AIICO is seriously rubbing shoulders with Mansard and it is just 70kobo compared to Mansard at over N2. #Potential.

I hope you have AIICO in your portfolio? grin

Seplat has reported a 63 million USD loss for H1 2016. Convert this to naira at today's exchange rate 330 NGN/USD that gives us about 21 billion naira monumental loss!!!! The decline is even much steeper q/q (As expected anyway)

I hope nobody is trapped there because SEPLAT is going to keep digging until Forcados line returns to service ... Which I don't think is anytime soon. Enjoy the unhindered southward ride! grin

E Don do now. Stop drawing attention to Ucap. Let is fall well first and take position before disturbing the trend. This thread can alter the trend. Besides people want to take their money off the stock now to come back in February while focussing on companies promising interim dividends. Biko!

bros no come dey let me expose my personal mata here ooo. if u use morgan capital then u will know that there is no way to show that the file I attached was for sell or buy because it is not written (ask morgan customers). it was the statement of account of my first tranche that u saw. i posted it just to proof that I didn't buy at 0.77 (but at 0.59) as u claimed in your post. I later removed it because i felt it was unecessary. 500,000 was my first tranche. what i sold this morning was 1,201,370 units (not 250,000 units). see attached file again and pay attention to the SELL tab which i circled in blue. if u no believe after this one na u sabi

You don't need to prove anything to anybody here. Ignore such temptations. Enjoy yourself. grin

Why una dey complain?

UCAP has done its work and moved on. Did u think the bull will last forever? It is good to know when to take your gains and move on with life. I remember advising someone to sell and move on after the thing returned 20%. Never let greed cheat you. Meanwhile, the bear will not last forever also. You better know when to buy the stock and enjoy the ride again. That is how this stuff works.
