tuluxa1, improvisation is the key to a womans heart, maybe after a few tweaks to my own version of a blissful birthday she'll become ure wife!!! cut out the romanitc bedroom passionn and just give flowers and perfume or swap flowers for something else thats more availabel to you, only you know what she likes what she wants and what will make her happy

u mean english as in the language or the country or both because i know that every culture is hard if its not your own , and ure right english would be hard for someone from a diff culture but speaking from my own view to another person from the same side things arent as bright as they seem because you automatically assume things will go your way because you dont know different , this is me speaking from my own point of view anyway and im sure plenty will disagree and thats fine just wanted to share my views and experiences and if any others feel like their own situation is different from my own then thats great

im soo happy for you and glad things r good, but dont ever asume anything i asumed everything would be the way im used to it being

i asumed that we would live together forever in london but truthfully my husband is a true nigerian and nigeria is where he will spend his adulthood with or without me, i think if i made him stay in this country it would kill him, this guy loves his country and wouldnt reside anywhere else

i think u and ure husband should have a long talk about future plans they might not be the way u want them to be or u might find them to be just perfect not everyone is the same anyhow , and its always nice to hear fellow '''whities''' successfuly be in holy matrimony with a smile lol good luck to the both of you Bleep mel

no idea how much N2000-N3000 is but for me a perfect birthday from my husband would be for him to come home with a beautiful bunch of flowers how ever much they costed just as long as they look pretty, a nice bottle of perfume later on as a suprise when i think ive had all my pressies and then a nice bottle of something cold and sparkling from the fridge to take upstairs to bed with a couple of glasses wink grin tongue kiss

that to me is perfect and romantic a birthday never to forget , so make sure u can top that next year or ull be in trouble from then on for years to come!!!

if white women stayed clear of black men alltogether ya still wouldnt be happy so i just dont get it some ppl arent happy we with blk men some ppl would the complain that white girls dont really like blk men and then ask why,

and as for culture it depends on the effort one has put in to help the lady understand the importance of religion, culture and history that falls behind his ways and for one to be his wife and life partner then she too needs to follow his ways, if the guy has his heart on being a true nigerian his wife too will become a true nigerian and their kids will follow in their footsteps

ive been with my husband for 4 years we have 2 beautiful daughters and were married,

i cook ibo food, i can talk small ibo, i have a wardrobe full of ibo/nigerian attire which i wear occaisionally, i go to church on sundays, my daughter thats not even 2 yet can speak little ibo she eats all nigerian food and were going to nigeria next year , my husbands heart is definately set to be a nigerian family man cos of what hes helped his family become if not for him i wouldnt be the way i am today and i can tell u now it was not easy but definatelly rewarding so when nigerians slag white women off for being fat or ugly or come from a background of tasteless food or u just wanna slag us off maybe u should sit back and appreciate us for the commitment and hard work we put into trying to cook and dress and speak ure culture cos it was back breaking

i know im having a rant and maybe in the wrong place ranting but i just had to say it soz for those who actually dont mind us!!! id paste it in all rooms if i could xx hope i answered this forums topic at the same time undecided kiss

Food / Re: Is the Way to a Man's Heart His Stomach? by melissaMBA: 5:06am On Feb 03, 2010
i dont think that u have to be able to cook to win a mans heart but i do think that to keep ure mans heart in the long run u have to be able to cook good for him otherwise what will happen is he gonna cook forever is the woman gonna keep cooking rubbish food hes not gonna stick around or come home to that, my husband loves me more everytime i cook him something good to eat because hes enjoying what has been made for him and for this reason i do think that to KEEP a mans heart is to go thru the stomach lol
Romance / Re: Guys Can U Marry A Girl That Don't Know How To Cook Or Do Domestics Work At Home by melissaMBA: 5:01am On Feb 03, 2010
im white knew nothing about african food african culture nothing before i met my husband been together 4 years and hes taught me everything in that time i can now cook beautiful food that even african men are licking their fingers for so theres nothing wrong in a guy teaching his woman how to cook, this way the woman learns to cook food the way her man loves his food to be with my own added magic tricks , and hes always coming back for more!!
Food / Re: How to Make Egusi Soup by melissaMBA: 4:50am On Feb 03, 2010
PART IBO PART WHITTIEEEE EGUISI SOUP - 1 WEEKS WORTH LOL!!!

clean the chicken and boil in pan with all ure seasoning (my own seasoning - maggiex5, curry powder table spoon, tablespoon of thyme and handful of salt depending on ure own preference) do not add water yet as the chicken will bring its own water
boil chicken for 30 mins or so making sure to top up with water after the first natural water has reduced, when done boiling place chicken and all stock water in large pot
add boiling hot water to your dried fish and let stand
grind 4-5 cups of eguisi with water, 2 onions and teaspoon salt DO NOT WASH OUT THE BLENDER YET NO NEED TO WASTE THE REMAINING GRINDED SEEDS
heat palm oil in frying pan (half cup - 3/4 cup full) when all melted add ure grounded eguigi seeds and fry till all is beautiful and golden and all formed
add the fried eguisi to the boiled chicken in large pot and continue boiling on high
add more water if u want, add crayfish to the pot, go to ure dried fish thats presoaking in hot water and break the pieces into small ones and take out as many bones as you can rinse the fish and add to the pan of chicken and eguisi
back to the blender and add 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, aprox 5 chillies depending on how hot u like it i like mine very very hot so 5 large is good for me
and also add 2 red pepper bells deseeded and 2 onions quatered and grind into a paste and add it all to the pan and stir
let it simmer for aprox 30 mins
when almost done add finely chopped spinach (aprox 5-6 bunches) and let it rest on the top to welch and then turn the whole soup for 2 mins and taste for salt and seasoning and add more if required

wala all done

my daughter enjoying the ever so delicious soup with pounded yam
