Just heard it on radio this morning that the former PDP Governorship aspirant, Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs has dumped from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress. This man is a very strong grass root politician that I think may take power from the current administration in Rivers State if PDP does not settle it's perpetual problems. What is your take?

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State Chapter has confirmed that Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs former governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers in 2015 formally declared and registered as a member of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ward 4, Akuku Toru LGA, Rivers State on Sunday.

Speaking immediately after his registration, Lulu-Briggs pledged to work for the growth and development of the APC.



“I pray I am able to contribute immensely to the growth of the Party in my Ward, LGA and State, and those efforts translate positively nationally,” Briggs pledged.

Chris Finebone, the Publicity Secretary of APC in Rivers confirmed the development in a statement he issued on Sunday.

The Senegalese troops have reportedly entered The Gambia in protection of the just sworn-in Adama Barrow as the president of the country, the BBC has reported.


Jammeh is to be forced out of office
The soldiers have also launched strikes against Gambia in a move to force out the sit-tight Yahya Jammeh, who has refused to vacate the presidential seat after 22 years in office.

The African Union and the ECOWAS earlier mobilised to force Jammeh out of office in the face of heightened tension.


Reuters also quoted Colonel Abdou Ndiaye of Senegal's army as confirming that an ECOWAS regional force has begun strikes in an operation code-named: 'Restore Democracy'.

Though there were no details, Ndiaye said significant land, air and sea resources had been made available.

The BBC also reported that Barrow has called on soldiers of the country to show their loyalty to him to ensure a peaceful transition of power.

He said this as he took an oath of office in neighbouring Senegal.

The United Nations (UN) Security Council also voted on Thursday, January 19, unanimously backed the Economic Community of West African States' (ECOWAS) efforts to force the incumbent Gambia leader to hand over power.

Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has revealed that the refusal of president-elect of the US, Donald Trump, to invite President Muhammadu Buhari to his swearing -in ceremony on Friday, January 20 is deliberate.

While Jammeh is in the heat making sure he is protected by his country's soldiers, the Gambian Chief of Defence Staff, Ousman Badjie was seen jubilating with Barro's supporters in the country.

What most companies do not understand is that the internet is a very dynamic world and it is either you change and adapt or you die and get forgotten.

In conclusion, I would like to advise companies that if they must own a website for business, they must be willing to establish a department for managing their online presence or simply outsource that service to a professional web and social media management consultant.

The disputed leader of Boko Haram has said he is still in charge of Nigeria's militant Islamist group despite a statement by so-called Islamic State that he had been replaced.

Abubakar Shekau denounced the IS declaration that Abu Musab al-Barnawi was now leader.

Shekau accused al-Barnawi of trying to stage a coup against him.

Boko Haram is fighting to overthrow Nigeria's government and establish an Islamic State in the north.

In the last 18 months it has lost most of the territory it had controlled after being pushed back by an offensive by the forces of Nigeria and its neighbours.

Shekau was last heard from in an audio message last August, saying he was alive and had not been replaced - an IS video released in April said the same.

In a 10-minute audio message in both Arabic and Hausa, Shekau appeared to distance Boko Haram from IS, but still called its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi "caliph".

He said that some in Boko Haram had stopped him communicating with al-Baghdadi.

Boko Haram has split before but this is the most serious division to date.

Abubakar Shekau's outburst clearly shows that there are deep disagreements, which could translate into clashes between the foot soldiers loyal to the two leaders.

It is also a sign of the weakness of the group, possibly foreshadowing an eventual collapse.

Military officials say the split is an indication that the group is breathing its last.

But some security analysts caution that the internal wrangling could make it more deadly and unpredictable.

Nigeria and the other regional forces will now need to turn this factionalism to their advantage.

Shekau had been accused of hoarding food and ammunition and also of driving away IS military advisers.

BBC's Abuja bureau editor Naziru Mikailu says this split is likely to have a major impact on the way the group operates and could be a turning point in the fight against the insurgents.

Shekau took over as the group's leader after its founder, Muhammad Yusuf, died in Nigerian police custody in July 2009.

Under his leadership Boko Haram became more radical, carried out more killings and swore allegiance to IS in March 2015.

Islamic State leaders claim to be living in luxury in a vast mansion seized from a billionaire Arab sheikh. The jihadi group’s social media sites posted photos of the spectacular mansion, under the headline: ‘A castle for the tyrants of Qatar in Palmyra’.
Aerial snapshots show sprawling gardens surrounding the mansion, in the heart of the Syrian desert. It is claimed that the Qatari royal family abandoned the villa when Isis closed in. ISIS leaders are now said to have set up headquarters in the luxury villa. The marble floors inside the villa are the same as those at the holy mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
