Sometimes, I say that because there are many ignorant people on Nairaland. The quality of engagement on this forum is low compared with fora like Reddit, Quora.

I'm also ignorant on many subjects and don't discuss or argue about what I've not researched and read about deeply unlike some people.

If you know what you're talking about, you won't be citing some examples.

For instance, when talking about about space science, only an ignorant person makes a statement like "life only exists on earth, and no where else in the Universe" or says "no confirmed fact in natural science".

1 - You don't know what sovereign and sovereignty mean so I decided to post a pic below for you. All the countries I mentioned are Sovereign entities. Except for the francophone countries, most African countries are sovereign.


2 --America doesn't have its history, indigenous people, or language at the forefront. Using your logic, America is not Sovereign. This is, however, wrong. Being Sovereign has nothing to do with any of those criteria you mentioned.


3- Loans don't affect Sovereignty. Russia borrowed from the West(banks through bonds) before the war. And still owe them today. Is Russia not sovereign?



I think you will make a more informed argument after seeing the definition of Sovereign .

One of the many mistakes they made. In fairness to them, no strong politician would have left his party for Labour at the time.

I think Obi gambled on Datti being the brother of the NEF's spokesman. Also he needs to completely change his approach on how he enters the North if he is coming for future elections. He needs to form long term alliances with at least 2 Zones.

What exactly is the point of Datti? He couldn't even give Labor party the minimum 25% in Kaduna.

Maybe my initial post didn't convey what I mean accurately.I replied to a post saying who was Rufai to be disregarding a presidential broadcast. What I was trying to say is that the supreme court gave an order that all naira notes should remain legal tender pending the February 20 when it will hear the case. So the governors are acting within the ambit of the law. It's Buhari who is going against the supreme court order for his own personal vendetta or agenda . Buhari is the one acting against the law here not the governors.

As far as we are under a democratically elected government and the Constitution has not been suspended everyone is bounded by the law including the President.

What Supreme court did was to issue a restraining order to all parties pending when the matter will be heard. for now the past two sittings of the court has only been about the initial 3 governors instituting a suit in a court they believe had jurisdiction(But the AGF and the FG by extension believes do not have jurisdiction).

The CBN is governed by the CBN act as of today and by the power of that act they've instructed banks not to receive old N1000 and N500 notes. Whether Supreme court will decide in favor of CBN/FG or the Governors remains to be seen . For now the nation is on autopilot.

Cbn is still an agency of the federal government. The parties that went to the supreme Court believes that a provision of the constitution has been breached by the federal government and it's left for the supreme court to decide if it's true or not. Buhari is the one not obeying the supreme court order here not Rufai.

Well said. I hope some people here don't believe the president is actually above the constitution and can just give orders anyhow he likes. All the powers of the President are from and provided for by the constitution which is guarded by the supreme court. The issue here is a constitutional one , which only the Supreme Court can pass judgement. It has to decide if the President acted within the powers conferred on him by the constitution and laws.
The supreme court's authority should be guarded before any President destroy it for his own personal interest.

The supreme court knows that's why they suspended his order. If he didn't do anything that goes against the constitution the order wouldn't have been suspended.

He cannot declare state of emergency without the majority vote in the National assembly. He won't get that number.

Supreme Court has power to declare a presidential order null and void if it goes against the constitution. That's what Rufai is following.

True talk jara. A policy as significant as redesigning of the country’s currencies should have been discussed and approved at the economic management council, national economic council and Federal executive council. Buhari F..uck up for that part.

Emifiele gave himself the work and not Buhari. Emifiele came to Buhari and told him that 3.23 million naira is in circulation and out of that amount 2.7 trillion naira is outside the banking sector. He explained and sold the idea of redesigning naira to put back some of this money into the banking sector. Buhari listen to his explanation and agreed to it.

If Buhari doesn't listen na wahala if he listens na wahala. Everything is on Emifiele.

Nothing wrong with the idea of Emifiele but the execution has been poorly handled and rushed. But you are right, everything is on Emifiele and not Buhari. He brought up a good idea with poor execution.
