Education / Re: How Do I Manage/stop Stammering by MendeZ(m): 6:35pm On Sep 02, 2017
GogetterMD:
How old are you now?

Stammering (stuttering) is an innate condition, part of you. However, helping you improve on it involves doing away with what you are currently doing, which is refraining from expressing yourself in public. It would only result in your condition getting worse. There are a lot of people like you, who have gotten a lot better, but it's only by building up your self-esteem, listen well and take your time to conjure your responses to questions, and to think up your speech properly. It might also be necessary to see a behavioural psychologist and/or speech therapist to help you if necessary.
Meanwhile, I'm sure there are people on this forum who have conquered stuttering, I'd like them to come share their experiences with you smiley

Don't take this seriously : our driver at work said he used to stutter when he was young, until one day he met a herbalist who told him to be drinking water out of a clean snail shell undecided shocked. He said it worked for him, and I was looking at him like lipsrsealed

Thanks for your contribution. I will try what your driver did then
Education / How Do I Manage/stop Stammering by MendeZ(m): 7:49am On Sep 02, 2017
This stammering is really limiting me because I tend not to speak in public and I don't express myself because of the fear that if I try to speak I must stammer and this is weighing me down

Please I don't know if anyone knows what I can do to limit or control or stop this stammering because I have noticed that it is even getting worse as I am growing older.

Anyone with reasonable solution please help

Mods please move this to the appropriate section and front page.
Thanks

NASTYNASOSO:
Nigeria real net oil export revenue: 2010-2015 (under President Jonathan)

Oil price $110 per barrel average
Stable oil production at 2.4 million barrels per day

2010-$70 billion
2011-$99 billion
2012-$94 billion
2013-$84 billion
2014-$77 billion
2015-$21 billion (January-May)

Total-$445 billion

Source: OPEC Revenue Fact Sheet and Energy Information Administration (EIA), a statistical arm of the US Department of Energy for various years; and my estimates.

Outcomes in 5 YEARS:

a) External reserves declined from $47 billion in 2013 to $29 billion in 2015;
b) Savings depleted from $21 billion in 2010 to $2 billion in 2015.
c) Federal Government borrowed $2 billion to pay salaries.
d) 24 States of the federation bankrupt -could not pay salaries of workers, could not repay debts and other contractual obligations.
e) accumulated arrears of workers salaries and pensions, running into billions of Naira.
f) accumulated contractors debt such that all major construction works stopped.
g) NNPC technically bankrupt.
h) Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) at its all time low. Declined to $3.1 billion in 2015 from $8.8 billion in 2011
i) Nigeria's Credit Rating downgraded
j) Massive capital flight: industries relocating to neighbouring West African countries.

Nigeria real net oil export revenue: 2015-2017 (under PMB)

Oil price $45 per barrel average
Loss of 1.2 million barrels per day due to disruption by the Niger Delta Avengers

2015-$16 billion (June-December)
2016-$26 billion
2017-$10 billion (January-April)

Total-$52 billion

Outcomes:in 2 YEARS

a) External reserves boosted to $31.22 billion from $29 billion in 2015;
b) Savings increased to $2.29 billion from $2 billion in 2015.
c) Federal Government stopped borrowing to pay salaries.
d) 24 States of the federation bailed out- to pay salaries of workers, repay debts and other contractual obligations.
e) Settled fully accumulated arrears of workers salaries and pensions, running into billions of Naira.
f) Settled fully accumulated contractors debt such that all major contractors are now back to site.
g) settled fully oil importers claims amounting to $400 million.
h) NNPC restructured and now solvent and liquid.
i) Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) steadily picking up.
j) Agricultural revolution taken off such that we now have small holder farmers millionaires.
k) Looted funds recovered running into trillion Naira mark and ploughed back into the budget.
l) TSA the plugged loopholes of waste and swindle of public funds, now N4 trillion.
---to mention just a few

Bottom line:

a) Those looking for a magic wand, here it is. Using $52 billion or 12% in TWO years to achieve what Jonathan could not achieve with $445 billion in FIVE years.

b) Only an incorrigible hater will say that Nigeria is not making progress under the PMB administration with the acute resource constraint and the multiplying challenges facing the country.

I rest my case. May PMB/PYO succeed.

OP please explain these to me; is the general rise in the prices of goods and services caused by GEJ? Is GEJ responsible for appointing incompetent ministers like the agric, sport, power, budget and planning ministers etc? How does your analysis explain the massive job loss since your master came on board? What about the high exchange rate and the wrong policies he has been using to try and curtail it? Is the oil price the reason why he has been appointing only his brothers in all the sensitive positions? When will you use your brain to deter that the problem of this nation is not the price of oil but the way your master chose to ignorantly and cluelessly run this Country?

As at may 29 2015,a dollar was exchanged for 248-250 naira. Stop telling lies.
Come to think of it, even if dollar was 180 like you claimed, the refined fuel you import is it being paid for in naira?
The raw materials, pharmaceuticals, military hardwares, etc, are they been paid for in naira?
Your analysis would have been apt if nigeria did little importation, meaning we have no need for the dollar.
I love your analysis anyways, but it holds no water here.
Example:if an armoured tank costs 11000 dollars for one. During gej era, he only needs to sell 100 barrels of crude to buy one. On the other hand, buhari needs to sell about 200+ barrels to buy one. So you see,it holds no water.

Point to note here, oil sales are in dollars but things are done in Nigeria with naira and since oil sales is our main source of income, the sales proceeds have to be converted to naira before it can be used to execute projects here, that's the point you are missing. No one is talking of buying foreign equipments here. The budget of this nation is in naira, the proceeds from oil sales is used to finance a larger part of it. You should try and remove bias so you can comprehend this whole thing. Buhari have no excuse not to perform.

Yes you are right. Buhari is a mistake, but how much was the oil price as at then. Let's say the truth in full, not half truths.

You guys always use oil price as excuse but let me educate you on that. During gej regime oil was 100 or 110 dollar per barrel and exchange rate was 180 naira to a dollar. Buhari's regime have oil at 50 dollar per barrel with exchange rate at approximately 400 naira to a dollar. Let me assume you are learned, so if gej was sold 100 barrel for instance which is 110 x 100 barrel is $11,000. When you convert this to naira then you will get 1.9m but during Buhari if he is selling 100 barrel at $50 it will be $5000, when converted to naira you will get N2.M. if you don't know how exchange rate works please read international corporate financeby Jeff madura. You have to get your facts right before saying what you don't understand.

Politics / Breaking: Senate Orders Probe Of Buhari’s $1b Ogoni Land Cleanup by MendeZ(m): 9:29pm On Jun 06, 2017
The Senate on Tuesday initiated moves to probe the President Muhamadu Buhari’s Ogoni land cleanup as the legislature directed its committee on environment to investigate the implementation of the cleanup. The exercise was launched by President Muhamadu Buhari in 2016 with an estimated cost of $1 billion.

The decision of the Senate followed a motion moved by Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment to mark the World Environment Day. The senate directed its committee to also assess the progress of the Great Green Wall programme initiated to control desertification in the country. While moving the motion, Sen. Tinubu expressed dismay that despite the launch of the project, work has not commenced in the area.
Contributing, Sen. Magnus Abe corroborated that there was nothing on ground yet to show that the clean up was designed to actually cleanup the area. He said that farmlands were still polluted while rivers of oil spills still abound. Abe urged the Federal Government to review the country’s environmental regeneration programmes to take care of environmental issues in the country.
Ogoni land is located in Rivers State on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, east of the city of Port Harcourt. It extends across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Khana, Gokhana, Eleme and Tae.

In a 2011 assessment of over 200 locations in Ogoniland by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it was found that impacts of the 50 years of oil production in the region extended deeper than previously thought.
Because of oil spills, oil flaring, and waste discharge, the alluvial soil of the Niger Delta is no longer viable for agriculture.

Furthermore, in many areas that seemed to be unaffected, groundwater was found to have high levels of hydrocarbons or were contaminated with benzene, a carcinogen, at 900 levels above WHO guidelines.

In the 2017 Democracy speech by Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, he said that the Ogoni Land clean up was an environmental priority of the government which was why it began last year.

Many people in this platform lack common sense of reasoning. first of all we all know efcc and their game of using figures to deceive gullible Nigerians, at least most of you should use your brain to reason sometimes before you comment.

how can a flat in ikoyi be sold for $1.6M? how much is the entire building? there is no way that flat can be sold for such amount. that is a very useless lie.
