[quote author=papyjaypaul post=135354068]This is not a Nigerian thing and I am not defenfing the man but when the social media companies let kids stay on their platforms anyone can fall prey. It’s like the phone has become the new "parent" in many households, while real parental guidance is often overlooked or weakened by the constant distraction of screens and notifications. Parents today are indulging their kids, no one wants to parent anymore. We want the internet to do everything just because you can YouTube how to drive does not mean you can drive on the road from there. Parents now give their kids phones at a very young age, forgetting the wisdom of a TV box was to monitor what is on. Parents who could not cope then did not buy TV sets and their kids did not die. Parents back then too gave excuse that the world is moving on. Yes the world is moving on but you can never change what will be there for years, parents are there to guide children, nurture them and monitor them. The real issue here is that the internet is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it connects us in ways that were unimaginable just a couple of decades ago, but on the other hand, it can expose vulnerable people, especially kids to serious dangers. Social media platforms often fail to create the kind of environment that truly protects kids, and it’s shocking how easily teenagers can bend the rules or hide their identities to engage with adults, sometimes without anyone noticing until it's too late. The more complex issue is how teens can sometimes manipulate situations, like lying about their age, leading to false accusations and innocent people being caught in the process. While it’s important to tackle the predator side of the problem, it's just as crucial to look at the broader ecosystem, how social media, lack of accountability, and even parental neglect make it easy for kids to end up in dangerous situations. Parents, for sure, need to take a more hands-on role in educating their kids about the risks and holding them accountable online. But at the same time, tech companies need to step up their game to make sure kids can’t easily "game" the system. As FRANK Oliseh will ask, DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILD IS On the phone Even here in the United States, most people you see physically looking like 30 years old woman are teen and young girls not to talk of the one you have never met so one must be very careful with the game one plays with all these so-called online girls. |
Party wey no get head. Dem suppose stop that Atiku of a man from all his selfish interest. Na all election time e want dey contest. He ruined the party. |
But you’ve said Tinubu might not go beyond 2027. Why is that? Exactly. There’s a comma — a divine pause. God has revealed three names to me. If any one of them enters the race, Tinubu’s presidency will not go beyond 2027. He won’t return. But I will not reveal those names—not even under gunpoint. Once one of them emerges, I’ll boldly tell Nigerians: “This is the man.” And Tinubu will not win. Mchewwww. Story for the gods. |

[quote author=Dalohad post=135328665]The question begs, if I don't get the visa, do I get a refund of my £1,059 or would the British sharks swallow the money? If I'm paying £1,059 for a visa, they'd better do well to grant me the visa without their annoying and frustrating bureaucracies... Everything depends on the Visa Interview Officer o. Visa fee is non-negotiable and non-refundable. |
I was born and bred in Lagos where I lived for more than 30 years in Nigeria. My everything was in Lagos to the extent that even when I traveled to other states in Nigeria, they are never enough for me. But in Lagos, it's all a comfortable zone for me. And now, I realize that living in Lagos had really helped me to prepare myself for the task ahead to being able to live here in Los Angeles. Almost same way of life. Here is just like living in Lagos. |
