We were on our from Abuja last week, the pilot made an announcement that we were now descending to MMIA and we should be on the ground in the next 5 minutes, 20 mins later we didn't see any sight of land/houses, that was when everyone started murmuring and asking questions.

Suddenly Pilot said the weather was bad that we can't land and we were on hold(didn't even know what he meant by this) naso people begin fire prayers o, who dey shout Allahu akbar dey shout, who dey shout Jesus dey shout am because the aircraft was seriously vibrating. Minutes later, the pilot made another announcement that the weather conditions has deteriorated that he can't continue being on hold, so he would need to return us to Abuja

That was how we returned to Abuja o, got to Abuja, they had to refuel the aircraft, waited at the airport for 30mins or so before we left for Lagos again.

The landing this time around is a story for another day.

I doubt this. The explosion and fireball was immediate and total. There was no time for anyone to react. I think he was probably flung from the aircraft on impact if not he will have been roasted alive.

That aircraft carries over 120,000 litres of Jet A1, four tankers equivalent. The blast radius is not something you can out run.

Did you say 120k litres? Wow, but what does the aircraft need such quantity of Jet A1 for? Do they consume that much on a one way trip?

When I watched the video of the crash, I just realized that I have never been thankful enough to God for safe trips.
Since 2023 till date, I take at least 2-3 flights monthly and I have been seeing it as just normal thing.
