When I see some people's comments on this forum, I pity the people around them. There's no connection between the brain and fingers in a lot of cases. If u do not have any reasonable worthwhile contribution to make concerning a topic, why not leave it to sensible people?

OP, kindly tell your friend to either report to her employer, brazen up and challenge those men or simply quit the job. And like someone said above, she should be able to tell these men off if she isn't the weak type. She has to stand up for herself. If she can't, she should quit. However, she doesn't know what she's gonna meet in her next job, so it's better to caution the men and stay put in her present job if possible.

Amen is not enough, our health workers should always give their best and Government should also provide everything that is required for good care!!!

Most health workers are already giving their best and majority of the ones that are not doing so are ready to do it. It is left for the government and individuals to create a conducive environment where giving that best will be possible for everyone.
I can speak for myself and a lot of other doctors that I know. We are working hard but the environment and society are not conducive. Despite that, we still work as much as we are allowed to.

When that NYSC boy was shot in Abuja while he covered an incidence with the Channels TV crew, he still had to be rushed to a hospital..
Channels did not give him shields or give him any kind of protection.. That should be Channel TV's fault right?? Guess what, the father believed that his death could be averted if a particular doctor is around...

Families will always hold health workers responsible... Life and death matter here is different from all the ones you highlighted..

And even if any hazards come from all these professions, Health workers will still be the one to intervene... And it is expected that they try their best!!

U are jndirectly saying health workers are there to clean up all other people's mess even even when the circumstances do not allow them to? Why don't the other people sit up so as to reduce the pressure on health workers too? Maybe if everybody starts working and carrying out their responsibilities, things will get better.

Really? You think other professionals don't deal with lives or people's lives have not been lost because of their negligence too? The only reason why medical personnel are at the forefront is because they deal directly with live and death.
The mechanical engineer that does fake job on a car, the electrical engineer that does bad electrical wirings, the civil engineers that construct bad roads, the banker that fails to attend to an customer who needs money to pay in the hospital, the building contractor that uses fake building materials that leads to collapsed buildings and loss of lives... ....... They are all killing people too.
Let's search ourselves deeply and let he who hath no sin cast the first stone.
If those doctors are actually wrong, I hope justice prevails but if they are not guilty, may they be saved.

This practice is not restricted to Nigeria. Across the globe, this is mostly the practice... But, when emergencies are in play, all rules get suspended... That's the crux of the Hippocratic law. You don't fail to stabilize a patient prior to major/specific treatment or surgery because of absence of cash deposit... That's a crime!!!

If that doctor is not the owner of the hospital, there's little he can do if the policy states that the patient should not be attended to without payments.
I have had an emergency before and already wore my gloves to commence work on the patient before I was told that they had to open a case note and pay some bills before I could start. The only thing I could do was hurry them up. This happened in a private hospital where all the materials I needed were in custody of others and they needed to be paid for first.
The man that was shouting for them to put up blood probably didn't know that the blood had to be released from the blood bank first.
Most hospitals are like that and the doctor's hands are tied especially if he is not the owner. Even when he is the owner, there's a limit.
During service, I worked in a private hospital where patients were attended to before any payment but most of the patients and relatives only gave us insults and ungratefulness in return or even took the money away. Despite that, the MD didn't stop doing the good deed. Presently, the hospital is struggling to breathe.
I don't blame hospitals that are like that. Might be from experience.

I believe the OP is just expressing the pains she feels from her own experience. As there are many good women, there are many good men out there and heart break is not limited to any gender. The fact that one has been tru a heartbreak doesn't mean he/she can't find happiness again. Most of the comments I've read here are only filled with bitterness towards the female folk which is not the response that's expected to the post. But as usual, most of nairaland comments usually deviate from the expected and the message in posts are usually overlooked.
Being bitter will not make anyone better, it will only create a toxic lifestyle and environment.

True. If one were to consider all the negatives, going to church would be a NO NO for most people. May God help us all.

There's too much hypocrisy in churches today. The same people who claim to love one are the ones speaking and doing evil things against one. Most of the evils we have in the society today are being perpetuated by so-called church going Christians; even the pastors. I do not feel comfortable in the midst of all these and I believe that I don't have to be in church before I can pray to and communicate with God.
