Phones / Infinix Hot 2 (android One) May Get Android Nougat Update Soon by MhizSophy(f): 4:17am On Sep 13, 2016
The LG V20 may be the most popular device to be already running
Android Nougat, but it certainly isn’t the only one.

Google continues to release OTA updates for its line-up, it seems
Nougat for Android One devices is on its way
The latest reports suggest that Google is rolling out Android
Nougat for Android One devices such as the Cherry Mobile G1. The
smartphone is among the latest Android phones running on
Google's Android One devices, which seems to
be the main reason it was updated to Nougat before other similar
devices.

While the Cherry Mobile G1 is the first to receive the Android
Nougat for AndroidOne devices, reports suggest more updates. Other Android One
devices are also expected to be upgraded to the latest version of
Android in the upcoming weeks if not sooner.
Since there are quite a few Android One devices emerging in
regional markets, there is no confirmation of the update. The Nougat Update for Cherry Mobile G1 has been reported by users to carry a file sizeof 750MB, available as an OTA update.

Since there is no official word from Google on Android Nougat for
Android One devices, we will have to wait for users to report back.

If you own a recently launched Android One device, stay on the
lookout for the latest Nougat update to head your way.
It seems Google is keeping to its promise for devices running
Android One Devices which is that the devices will receive
automatic Android updates for up to 2 years.
The Infinix Hot 2 is an Android One Device so users of the device
should expect updates in coming weeks

Phones / Best Android Apps To Watch Live TV And Download Movies by MhizSophy(f): 6:14am On Sep 12, 2016
We live in an Era of apps where most of the best things in life are free. For example, there is a huge number of applications that lets your stream TV shows and movies for free on your Android device. That’s right, you do not have to pay for that cable subscription to catch an occasional game or news. Here is a roundup of the best movie and TV apps that will make your life easier and more enjoyable.
Hulu

Hulu lets you watch movies and premium TV shows on your smartphone without paying a subscription fee. This app is packed with classing and current shows, kids’ shows, movies and Hulu originals, making it a perfect family smartphone/tablet companion. However If you desire to access fully to the Hulu library, you’ll need to pay a subscription fee of $7.99 per month with limited commercials. You can also opt for $11.99 a month without commercials. If you are willing to be a bit patient, you will be able to find some awesome shows for free.

SPB TV

This application isn’t really a region specific since it offers content from around the globe via selection of wonderful stations. SPB TV gives you a pretty mix of content. You can’t find the most recent NBC, Hollywood Action or Showtime on SPB TV, but if you desire to take a great chance a wild card, SPB TV is the app you should use. The app features a number of international and independent TV shows.

Showbox

Showbox is one of my favorites. It's the most popular movie application of all time. Online TV series and movies can be streamed and downloaded on it for free. Its users are able to enjoy many fantastic features. Despite being very popular, this app is not available on Play Store but it can be downloaded from its official website. Showbox allows its users to download the videos and watch them offline.
Flipps HD

Flipps HD is more than just an Android movie application. You can listen to music, watch any viral videos and also stream movies not only on your smartphone but on your TV as well. Flipps HD not only allows its users to stream movies but also download them as well. Being entirely free, this is amongst the best movie application for an Android smartphone. Feeling bored ? Enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows using any of these Apps.

Phones / Blackberry's New Android Device - The Dtek 50 What To Expect by MhizSophy(f): 8:40am On Jul 30, 2016
BlackBerry is switching to the Android OS since it's BlackBerry 10
OS is struggling to keep up with the trends in the smartphone
industry.

The Device named the DTEK 50 will sport a
5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM,
16GB of storage(expandable up to 2TB via microSD) and Android
6.0 Marshmallow. The 135g phone also comes with a 13MP rear-
facing camera and an 8MP front-facing flash camera, the only
downside to the specs is the battery, which has a 2,610mAh
battery capacity

The device is built by Alcatel even bears a similar
resemblance to the Alcatel idol 4s. Also, check out some of the
features that make the DTEK 50 the most secure smartphone:
Rapid Security Patching: BlackBerry has a record of being
the quickest to deliver security patches, setting the bar in
incident response and patch management to protect your
device from malicious threats.

DTEK™ by BlackBerry App: Enables users to automatically
monitor their OS and apps to know when their privacy could
be at risk and to take action to improve it. The DTEK app
also tracks applications and notifies you when someone is:
taking pictures or videos without your knowledge, turning
your microphone on, sending a text message, or accessing
your contacts or location.

Hardware Root of Trust: BlackBerry’s manufacturing
process uses a proprietary technique that adds security
from the start, allowing for the tracking, verification, and
provisioning of DTEK50.

Secure Boot Process: Starting with the root of trust, each
stage of DTEK50’s secure boot chain must first verify that
the next component is fully intact before proceeding,
ensuring your device has not been tampered with since the
last restart.

Android OS hardening: BlackBerry provides additional
security patches, improved random number, address space
generation and certificate pinning to make it more difficult
for attackers to target a device by scrambling application/
system memory.

FIPS 140-2 Compliant Full Disk Encryption: Protects your
private information, like pictures or bank information, from
being stolen if you were to lose your phone
The Device is to sell at $299.

Celebrities / Re: Why Olamide Will Last In The Music Industry by MhizSophy(f): 12:50pm On Jul 08, 2016
You're forgetting that what kills most artistes that seem to be dominating is not the type of songs they sing.. It's their lifestyle.. A few years from now many of them would have cancer or liver related issues.. The type of songs the guy sings sells because Nigerians don't listen to lyrics. Is it not the same Olamide that was praising Rape with story for the Gods..

You cant find it on regular sites. Think Silk Road. I stumbled upon it during the days of MTN Magic SIM in 2012 or thereabout.
Was looking for links to a rare classic movie i loved as a kid when it popped up.

Was fascinated by the device. Crude but efficient. Wouldn't even know except you know what you are looking for like in the case of this paranoid guy.

But like you rightly said. The Internet is a risky place but less risky for the scammer to digitally retrieve his stolen info than physically coming to retrieve something like this.
Some banks have stepped up to using EMV chips on ATM Cards rather than just the black magnetic strip. This is wayyyyy harder for skimmers as they would need to steal your ATM card as soon as you finish your transaction.

A word of advise, try to use the flush inlet ATM's like the first image. Its easy to detect any anormally.
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2469560,00.asp
Avoid these ones with protruding inlets like the second image made mostly by NCR. The green plastic there is as unless as 1Terabyte on a Starcomms SIM card.

If in doubt, switch on your phone's torch and place it below the protruding plastic. It should allow light to pass through it, with no dark spots. If a dark patch or lines is spotted, alert the Customer Care or Manager..and not the Guards o. You never know.

If there is a long queue, twist or nudge the inlet and make sure its secure before making your transaction. Scammers would want easy removal and not something to battle with to prevent chances of their face getting captured by the camera.

Feeling more cautious, try this link

In Nigeria in particular, I know many people won't suspect something
like this. The only security precautions many people take are to make
sure any suspicious persons aren't around or preventing someone
from seeing their pin. With the Increase in Cybercrime, the normal
precautions we take might never actually be enough.
I have heard a lot about ATM skimmers, but it's nearly impossible to
spot one.

Most skimmers are designed to look exactly like the card slot on the
original machine and attached to the front, and others are completely
hidden inside the ATM.

A cyber security expert Benjamin Tedesco spotted an ATM skimmer
that was totally unrecognizable.

Tedesco was hanging out in Vienna and when about to draw some
cash from a cash machine outside St. Stephen's Cathedral, he decided
to do a quick visual inspection of the ATM machine and surprisingly
spotted the dodgy device attached to it.

That was a credit card skimmer – a perfect replica of the actual card
reader that was designed to steal credit card information of users
when they swipe their card to take off cash from the ATM.

"Being security paranoid, I repeated my typical habit of checking
the card reader with my hand as I have 100's of times," Tedesco
wrote in a blog post. "Today's the day when my security awareness
paid off!"

Tedesco, an employee of Carbon Black firm, immediately grabbed hold on the Skimmer glued on the top of the actual card reader and dragged it out.

The ATM skimmer detected by Tedesco contained a magnetic strip
reader, battery, some sort of switch and a control board with the four
pin connector.
This us leaves the question- How many ATM's have skimmers already
attached.
