@century106......how many trips of 7.5 ton sand did you use from foundation to level ( leave out the trips for moulding)?

I will get back to you on number of trips of sharp sand - need to consult my expense log book.

A total of 162 bags of cement and 5 trips of gravel was used from foundation, to block work, lintel, 3 courses on top of lintel for internal walls and 2 courses for outer walls and for casting of German flooring. A total of 21 + 2 (on the plot) trips of sharp sand was used for block work and block molding, I will get back to you on the number trips for just block work, lintel and German floor.

I molded 169 bags of cement; 28 blocks per bag for 6" solid and 32 blocks on the average for 5" solid block - I was after strong and solid blocks not quantity. You can mold up to 40 blocks per bag for 5" if you want, people do that. So about 5,200 blocks were made, I have about 150 left. So the building consumed 5,000 -- 5,100 blocks from foundation to roofing...

Please how many blocks, bags of cement, tons of sharp sand, tons of gravel did you use from foundation to 2/3 blocks after lintel? Please just exclude the materials for moulding of the blocks. From your post, I understand that I will need 20 rods for the longitudinal pillars, 15 links.....i dont get that part, please help break that down in layman's term, 12 bags of cement, 1 ton sand, 3 ton gravel

then for the 2 arcs, i need 3 rods, 2 bags of cement, 1 bar of Y8 rod, then use from the above sand and gravel.

please, help do the math for pillar base mat and doors and windows too..thanks

Thanks my oga....hope your going going...you re doing a good job. please bro, pls help calculate the ton of sand, ton of gravel, 12mm iron, rings, cement to construct 15 pillars (height of about 15 coaches of 6 inch block), 21 windows (11 nos of 1800mm, 3 nos 0f 1500mm, 2 nos of 1200mm, 5 nos of 900mm.

19 doors [17 nos of 900mm, 2 nos of 1200mm]
2 arcs of 2400mm.

Thanks for this info. Is the trip of sand 5 ton or 10 ton? I want to ask you how many trips of 5 ton sharp sand can set (not mould) 5000 blocks? Thanks

Take into consideration outhangs of 1.2m on each side of the structure and roof height of 10ft. Thank you

I want to do coping on my fence of 100ft x 50ft since the rain season is near. Please how much should I be looking to spend in terms of irons, woods, cement, hanger rods for barbed wire, 3 inch rods, barbed wire bundles, carpenter, mason, fixing of barbed wire. Thanks

Hello sirs, I am so much grateful for your help. The building is just a bungalow of 2 nos of 3 bedrooms attached together. No suspended decking. I actually wanted to know if what his quote says is what I need or I will need more. For example, he wants me to budget 5500 blocks and 85 bags of cements to set to them. He said he will set/ chalk on top of each about 50 blocks with a bag of cement.

Thank you for the analysis. I tried to ask the mason how he will do the DPC with 30 bags of cement. He said the dpc will be 4 inch thick and will use 4 trips of 5 ton sand (20 tons) and 2 trips of 5 ton gravel/granite (10 tons). Assuming 30 bags, how many trips of sand and granite will i need for dpc?
For casting of foundation, if 20 bags..how many trips of sand and granite is needed?
For 8 pillars, beams, baskets, lintels, how many trips of sand and granite is needed?
For setting 5500 blocks, how many trips of sand and granite is needed?

The structure will have 15 pillars. what about labor for welder, carpenter, and mason? The site is in Ibadan, soil strong and land, table flat. Thank you for helping with your expertise.
