Orikinla:It's is very unfortunate that you can choose to believe the report of the Hollywood reporter which in my opinion is a clear case of undervalueation by colonialists who can never admit that Africans are truly successful at any thing. Do you expect the White man to applaud you for telling your own story succinctly? Hollywood can not appreciate a Nigerian movie because it comes from a place they can never ever understand. The shame goes to the black man who expect s the white man to hail his efforts and inventions for the black to know the value |
Thanks home steady. I haven't watched 93 days but I heard it was very good |

Thanks ikbnice. I'll look for the movie Ori. But have you seen 76? |
First , let me state that I've never been a fan of Nollywood for obvious reasons. These include outrageous storylines, poor screenplay, unnecessary scenes, downright stupid scripts and annoying soundtracks ( I could go on). Over the years, things have improved but I still feel we are far from where we should be. I've seen a few decent movies like October 1and Fifty but I've always felt we try to do comedies to hide our shortcomings. Having said that, I actually enjoyed 30 days in Atlanta and more recently The Wedding party. Two days ago, I was literally dragged to the cinema to watch the movie 76. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I was simply blown away. The movie features Rita Dominic, Ramsey Noah, Chidi Mokeme, Ibinabo Fiberesima amongst others. Set in the year 1976 and based on a true story, the movie focuses on the involvement of some army officers in the assasination of Nigeria's Head of state The acting was fantastic, the screenplay and cinematography were world class while the attention to detail was mind blowing. It was very clear that a high level of professionalism was put into every facet of the movie. The movie actually transports you into Nigeria of the mid 70s I'll never forget the scene where a kid was celebrating his birthday in the barracks. Instead of the birthday cake you'd see today was the huge tray of rice and stew with scattered chunks of meat. So many viewers chuckled cos most of us knew that was the norm then. If u haven't seen the movie, I enjoin you to. If you have, do you agree that it's the best Nollywood movie ever? If not, which Nollywood movie is your pick? Congratulations to Rita Dominic and Co. Nollywood has come of age! |
These men should respect themselves na |
I see a few policemen on this thread. Mr Praise, I thank God u are alive.Many. Nigerian policemen are simply no longer human. Most on night duty are under the influence of alcohol or even hard drugs so expecting them to behave rationally is out of the question. You did well to memorize their names so they'll get whatever coming to them. The last IT established a Facebook page and twitter handle where complaints like these can be lodged. Please Google and do the needful. Get well soon |
